Sorry the first reviewer felt the quality was not present in the pieces at Arch Gate. I passed this store when they were on 17 st in Manhattan many times, thinking the furniture didn’t go with my apartment. Then I got rid of my children’s IKEA toy & storage furniture, got rid of the dresser from an expensive and well known store that fell apart on me, and decided to spruce up my living room. I found colors to go with each of the rooms, solid wood furniture that looks beautiful and sturdy, and an antique look that suits me. At first I came by and took measurements and pictures and thought about it for several weeks. When I came back, they remembered me and helped me find the things I needed. They scheduled the shipment during a time that worked for me and even helped me adjust my TV and VCR to fit on the piece I bought for the living room. I was sad they left Manhattan because I am ready for matching pieces and without a car it is more challenging for me to get to NJ. I am determined though to find my way back!

The smell! Yuck! I spotted this Asian furniture spot nestled between PC Richards and Sports Authority a few times during my last few visits to this shopping area. Each time the pieces I could see from the windows enticed me, but I never had time to stop in. Finally, today I popped in. As I walked up, I noticed dozens of interesting and ancient looking Asian style furniture pieces came into focus. I was excited for the possibilities within when I walked through the door. Moments later, an overwhelming feeling of nausea hit me– The smell! This place stunk! I quickly retreated outside to compose myself before trying again. This time I was prepared. I held my breath and walked in. I was determined to consider the pieces within. Dozens of accent tables covered in decorative pieces and serving ware surrounded me. There were so many pieces that caught my eye, but on closer inspection, the quality wasn’t there. Something about the pieces I was interested in looked cheap to me. I walked around and around looking at all the options. The prices were reasonable overall, but I didn’t buy anything. I spent about twenty minutes perusing the store(with occasional stops outside to take a deep breath) before I left. I need dozens of pieces of furniture for our new place, but I won’t be returning here.
