Linda is still working as a cashier at the Acme in Manasquan. She has absolutely no people skills. After all the complaints, why is she still working with customers? Retrain Linda, or move her to the back of the store. Acme is losing customers because of her.

Aisles feel extremely cramped and the display is horrendous. Quite difficult to find items and the employees weren’t too helpful in directing us to the right place either. Cashier-lady was nice in informing us about some Monopoly-esque game where additional visits increased our chances to win $$$, but I would not return to play that game, even for the possibility of winning $ 1,000,000.

It boggles my mind that a lovely shore town like Manasquan has this total s******e of a supermarket. I like Acmes — I grew up going there with my mom and grandmom, and I shop the South Philly Acme regularly, so I know what I’m getting into. The first thing that greets you when you step through the awkwardly slow automatic doors is a ripe smell of poop. It’s absolutely disgusting. Is this a grocery store or a neglected dog kennel? Once past that initial treat, you start shopping and find most of the usual suspects that Acme generally carries, but looking like they fell off the back of a truck. Smashed-up or dirty packaging is common. The worst section is produce — this is Jersey; we are surrounded by farms. Why does every stalk of celery and piece of asparagus look like it’s been in an unrefrigerated basement for a week? The fruit is slightly better, but the vegetables are just too sad to buy. My favorite Acme section –10 for $ 10 — is sucky. Same items all summer with no real deals mixed in. The only thing that is cool about this Acme is most of the people who work there are rather nice. I’ve never had a grumpy cashier and sometimes there are workers bagging to keep the(long) lines moving. The vintage sign in the parking lot is also a great design — too bad you’re better off admiring it from that vantage than actually grocery shopping here.
