Fast, friendly and great food. Was craving a grinder so I called ahead and it was ready when I got there. Nice place to sit

Great little pizza and grinder shop. Their pizza was great. The service was amazing and the crowd inside was playful and you could tell everyone was a regular (aside from me) which shows that they are a great joint.
I cant wait to come back and try the grinders.

Have been coming here for 15 yrs. Amazing food every time and the owners are amazingly friendly. Grinders are huge with all fresh ingredients. Will always come back.

I have being eating here since I was a young child; the food and the family have not changed and that is just how I like it. Simple flavorful food and a family just like your own running the kitchen.

I’ve been coming here since we moved to Manchester in 1979. At the time it was here and Vic’s pizza that my parents would go to. It’s an old school traditional pizza place and the best in town. The go to pizza we get is the mushroom onion pizza well done. It is delicious, their grinders are large and great quality.
They are a great family that own and run it and know how to consistently produce quality products

I LOVE this restaurant for pizza, grinders, salads and their mozzarella sticks. So freaking delicious. The staff is awesome and very respectful. Just the perfect place if I’m in the mood for Italian.

I just moved to Manchester a couple of months ago. Got on Unilocal to see where the best grinder places are. Came upon CJ’s Pizza & Giant Grinders. I was craving a meatball grinder for lunch. I went there and ordered one (with peppers, onions, provolone). Got home and let me tell you, I haven’t had a meatball grinder this good in years. The sauce wasn’t too sweet like some I’ve come across. The meatballs were perfect. It wasn’t greasy at all. I will definitely be making CJ’s a regular stop for grinders. Looking forward to trying the pizza.

Hands down their tunafish salad is the best I’ve ever had. It’s never dry and has just enough celery to give it some added texture. It’s pretty much what I get every time I come here!
Service is always friendly and fun. Their pizza and other grinders are excellent as well. I highly recommend them for take out, or they even have a small area where you can eat there!

I’ve been coming here since I can re ever so probably 20+ years. My mother used to love to play this miss pac man arcade game they had years ago. I hadn’t been back here in a very long time. Wow am I glad I stopped in yesterday for lunch. Grinders are phenomenal and ALL the staff is super courteous and helpful. All in all this is just simply how business should be done. Great place, great atmosphere, great owner, great staff, great food& a great value.
I’ll be frequenting here much more now that I’ve reminded myself how good it still is.

My husband and I absolutely enjoyed our meals. The food was delicious and served quickly. Clean restaurant. Will eat there again.

By all means, the best pizza in town. Classic square cut slices and delicious. Pizza is always fresh, the grinders are huge. I have been enjoying CJ’s for 23 years, and I always recommend it to people when they are looking for excellent food and great service. Family owned, you can’t find nicer people who enjoy their jobs. Always a go-​to in my book!

Best pizza grinder in ct! The taste is amazing, the price is good, and the portions a great!!! What makes this place the absolute best is the owners. They treat you like family. An absolute must for any pizza lover.

New to the area & stopped in because I had a craving for a sausage grinder & the majority of small family owned places are the best place to get it. I was wrong this time.
The whole size grinder which seems more than 12″ had flat sausage patties. This isn’t right! & it barely had any peppers & it’s made with provolone cheese! No thank you, I want mozzarella. However, there was a good amount of sauce… marinara sauce. That’s ok, I can live with that.
I also ordered a meatball grinder… they use those loose Italian meatballs, not real ground beef. Major turn off for me.
The place itself looks clean, it has booths & tables & the people are extremely friendly.
If I go back, I’ll try the pizza instead.

Best been going here since I was 11 years old im 49 now.
It’s all about family. go to any place see if they remember your name these guys are great.
Food is on point pizza is a+++
Grinders so good.
There father got sick last year and it hurt like he was my father that’s how cjs they treat people like family so glad he’s doing better.
My only complaint is yes I wish they would deliver but I don’t cause then I would be broke from eating there all the time

Best «pizza shop» type pizza in the area. The only reason why I ever go anywhere else is because they don’t deliver.
Their grinders are hit or miss from what I’ve experienced. Their tuna sub is the BEST I’ve had anywhere. It’s white tuna, not the darker kind commercial places usually have. The eggplant parmesan was lacking in taste and there was way too much eggplant. The middle of the sub wasn’t completely warm. I probably wouldn’t get it again.
Fries and wings are great as well.
Definitely recommend.

CJ’s pizza is definitely the best pizza I have found in the Manchester area. But this review is not about pizza. This time around, grinders are the menu item up for review.
Sometimes you just don’t feel like even walking into the kitchen to assess the cupboard contents. It’s nights like this that CJ’s has you covered. The other night I just wanted a quick dinner, and called to order a meatless grinder. Quite honestly, I was so tired that I wasn’t even that specific. I believe my specific order was, «half a meatless grinder, no cheese, whatever veggies you want to put on it.» I was asked hot or cold, and cold won.
Fast forward to the grinder in my hands. It was on delicious soft Italian bread, and was stuffed with finely shredded lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and roasted peppers, with salt, pepper, oil, and vinegar. I know, it sounds like a basic salad on bread. And really, that’s what it was. However, CJ’s has some magical way of making even the most basic orders absolutely delicious. Even though this grinder was no fancy pants sandwich, it was definitely excellent, and I will certainly be back for more.
I also ordered mozzarella sticks, which were perfectly melty and came with a simple but tasty marinara sauce. I shared them with my boyfriend, but next time I think we will both gluttonously consume our own individual orders, because they were just that good.
The boy had a steak and cheese, and loved it.
CJ’s has definitely won me over with their grinders, and I will be back soon for sure!
