A real hidden gem! You can go on a nice little hike to Gray Beach. Ocean Lawn has a breath-taking view of the ocean. It feels surreal to walk around where the old mansion used to be.

Ocean’s Lawn is mine AND my boyfriend’s favorite place to go. You get to experience a variety of landscapes and usually there aren’t many people there. When you first get there(to the parking lot) you have to walk up/down a woodsy trail with some minor slopes, then you get to walk along a nice easy wide path with trees on one side and a pond on the other. Often-times you can see lots of birds in the trees on this path. Then you you reach a choice: left to the beach or right to Ocean’s Lawn. I almost always go right to Ocean’s Lawn, but often-times I take a quick trip to the left to check out the beach(which is pretty isolated and usually almost empty). Once you head up to Ocean’s Lawn it’s just a few more minutes of woodsy-trails and you cross a little road, then you reach an expanse of grassy landscape speckled with huge trees. You can walk across the grass(takes maybe five to ten minutes) and you reach an ocean front, bordered with rocks. You can even walk out on these rocks and be almost on the ocean. It probably takes about twenty minutes from getting out of your car to getting to the ocean if you walk at a reasonable speed, and then you get to enjoy the 20 minute walk back to your car after. Maybe you’ll even run into the booth-guy!

Great place. Great wildlife. I love taking pics of bugs and birds, so this place was perfect for me.
