Highgrove at Big Bend

Apartment was clean and I have new appliances. Good location and the GYM equipment is new. I have my own balcony and a carport which will be nice for the winter and summer. Office was friendly and it was easy to rent.

Its called Highgrove at Big bend now .Don’t be fooled. I’m paying for amenities that have been under construction for 6 months. When i first rented we had 24 hr gym. well now its only open when there at work. SURPRISE so are we they say they open at nine not usally been waitting to get in to gym there no shows. We use to have Matt and John Joe was property manager Then Z and Stephen in maintenance. You’d call fixed the next day or too. now weeks if ever

Overall a decent place, but be advised the maintenance is atrocious. I live on the ground floor and when it rains my carpet becomes soaked in the bedroom closet. I alerted the office staff to the problem and they said they’d put in a work order. They solution? Placing a large fan on the saturated carpet for 1 week. My apartment stunk as the water slowly evaporated from the carpet pad and carpet. A week later after the carpet dried it rained again and soaked the carpet again. I went to the office again and spoke directly to the property manager. She was genuinely concerned and addressed the problem immediately. A professional service came out and removed the excess water from the carpet. Sounds like a happy ending, but then it rained again. The apartment complex has made zero efforts to correct the issue in over a month and have shown no indication that they will anytime soon. Will update if that changes.

Westbrooke is a cheap apartment complex and that is all you should expect from them. My apartment their was a two bed two bath with washer and drier hook up which was in the master bathroom… which was kinda weird for two guys living in an apartment. It would probably be better for a family but that is not why I gave it two stars. The amenities at the place were mediocre. They had a pool which alot of people frequented so you were lucky to find a pool chair. There are alot of colleged aged kids that lived here as well and they liked to drink at the pool on a regular basis (which I didnt mind). They also had a gym that had ancient equipment that I never saw anyone use.
My biggest gripe with the place is the maintenace of the buildings. I had a leak in my bathroom from the exhaust fan which we later found out was coming from the apartment above us. The first time the maintenance guy came out he stuck paper towels in where the leak was and told me it stopped. Unfortunately for him it started leaking again about 2 weeks later. I called him on the emergency maintenance line and the man told me «you dont need me to come out tonight it will be fine» which I told him that it wouldnt and he needed to come out. He responded «no it can wait im not coming out tonight Ill be there tomorrow» and he hung up on me. After about a week of him coming in and out and cutting a hole in my bathroom ceiling he said he fixed it but didnt. I called him for a third time and this time I guess they tightened the right pipe and it stopped.
I have a friend that lives in a different building in the complex and she has had the same exact problems with leaking ceilings and poor service from the club house (from a black women there dont know her name) and the maintenance staff.
