Modell’s Sporting Goods

Gotta go to Mo’s! Ahhh, I’ve heard that jingle so many times watching the NY Rangers on MSG. Modell’s has a lot of stores in the Tri State area of NY-​NJ-​CT and that’s where we got our team apparel for the NY Rangers and NY Mets (National League fav). A few years ago, Modell’s expanded up into New England to capture this World Champion market, which was a great move since the Boston area is now home to 6 World Championships in 7 years and can cash in on all of the sales for the Championship gear and merchandise including the 2008 World Champion Boston Celtics. Mo’s had plenty of We Beat LA and Celtics Champion locker room t-​shirts ($ 19.99), caps, and other apparel in displayed in front of the store.
Modell’s is a guy’s kind of store offers a pretty good selection of men’s sportswear (some women’s), from brands such as Champion, Adidas & Nike, professional & collegiate team jerseys (lots of Patriots, Red Sox, Celtics, & Bruins), and tailgating chairs. Modell’s carries big jerseys & jackets for other teams such as the NY Yankees and the Dallas Cowboys. The sneaker selection in the back is decent, but the stock of sports equipment (for baseball, football, basketball, hockey, lacrosse, tennis, golf, skateboarding, soccer) seems very limited compared to other sporting goods stores. There were only four treadmills on the floor to choose from, one priced at $ 999.99 with a 20 percent off tag.
I’ve shopped at this location when they had good sales on sports apparel such as running shorts, fleece shirts, socks, and sneakers. Last Christmas, I bought myself a nice pair of Nike running sneakers for $ 39.99, marked down from $ 64.99. Those sneakers I use at the gym, are still in decent shape, hehe.
