Steele Vision

I went with my husband for an eye exam. We had concerns that we were being charged for a service that we did not order due to a miscommunication. Rather than apologizing for the confusion, Dr Steele was rude and condescending. Blaming us for the problem. An apology would have sufficed. Will never return.

Dr. Steele just found an issue with my vision that someone could have easily overlooked. How? He asked questions and dug a little deeper than the average optometrist. Consequently, I received a referral to a specialist instead of just getting a new prescription. Yes, it sucks that I’m getting older and changes are taking place but I really couldn’t be happier with his services!
Unfortunately, my exam required a bit more time than allotted. My apologies to the person who had to wait but these things happen. In my opinion, it is far better to go to an optometrist who wants to get it right instead of one who is simply handing out prescriptions.

I was a walk-​in at 2:45 p.m. and was told he could see me by 3 p.m. because the 3 p.m. appointment had cancelled. Another walk-​in came in at 3:25 p.m. and was seen before me for a non-​emergency. Finally, at 3:45 p.m., I was seen.
The O.D. was unhelpful in explanation and dismissive; furthermore, he did nothing to treat or alleviate my problem and our meeting was over within five minutes. He did find the time to suggest a completely unnecessary, unrelated, and expensive examination, however. For this five-​minute meeting after an hour of waiting, I was treated to a hefty bill for an «office visit.»
Never coming back, and highly suggest not going in the first place.

Dr. Steele and his staff were amazing! So friendly and informative and got the job done quickly without feeling rushed. I was really surprised by the quality and friendliness service, it was actually a really pleasant experience. Typically my optometrists have always been crass and rushed but Dr. Steele took his time to explain everything and give me options all while smiling. Loved it, as long as he’s around I am not going anywhere else. Can’t beat the price either… $ 79 for a contact exam and trial lenses.

Dr. Steele is great. I so prefer him to other incompetent or pushy eye doctors that I refuse to change doctors even though I now live out of state.

Dr. Steele was very professional and clear in explaining my prescription and how it had changed. We were able to discuss some other long-​standing issues with my eyes. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. I brought my son who got contacts for the first time. Dr. Steele sat with him and taught him to use them. He was infinitely patient and my son felt confident in their use when we left.
As for the reviewer who was unhappy about his glasses — that’s NOT Dr. Steele. That’s Costco. Dr. Steele doesn’t have anything to do with glasses. Just issues with your eyes and your prescription.
I’d hate to see this wonderful doctor maligned because someone has issues with Costco.

My name is Jim H. and I am a Costco addict.
I love purchasing quality discounted stuff in bulk and I also don’t mind their free food samples that enhances your shopping experience. With all that to say, I had a horrible experience at the Optical Dept at this Costco location.
I came into get a new pair of lenses for my glasses. To make the long story short, I was told that I will get my glasses back in a week. A little over a week later, I get a call saying that my glasses’ frame was not compatible with their process, so they’re unable finish the job (btw, I was able to get new lenses without any trouble at Pearl Vision).
Then they tell me that my old lenses and frames are at two different locations, so it will take another week before I can pick them up. The worst part of all was that when I picked up my glasses, there was a huge scratch across one of the lenses and they insisted that it was on there before — which wasn’t.
FYI, I was able to get the same quality lenses for $ 5 more at Pearl Vision — with their 30% coupon (just mention it), so when it comes to dealing with glasses, I will just stick with professionals next time.
