This isn’t just a review for this specific Walgreens; it actually is a general complaint for all Walgreens pharmacies in the West County area. Walgreens pharmacy fills prescriptions on automatic refill and them gives you an automated call to let you know it is ready. Unfortunately, they do not put their address on the message to advise where the prescription should be picked up but instead of letting you know a street address(as would make sense in a GPS era), they will tell you it is «at the NW corner of Big Bend and Old 141» and then do not leave a return phone number in case you don’t know where that site is located. What?! Any cell phone will give you a phone number, right? Unfortunately if you call back the number that comes up on your cell phone, you don’t get a usable phone number. As far as I am aware, no street address exists called Old 141 but I’ve only lived in Missouri for 7 years. Walgreens will call you again if you don’t go through a scavenger hunt the figure out which pharmacy has your medication. However, the second time you are called, the automated system will let you know that you have a certain amount of time to come in or your prescription will be put back. Therefore, you either figure it out or you’re out of luck. If you’re like me, you drive to the pharmacy where you think you brought your prescription and hope that your refill is there. Unfortunately, since there are so many Walgreens locations, you might not be in luck. Tonight I drove just one too many times to the wrong Walgreens. I have spoken to 2 store managers who said they would pass the information on, but this is not been resolved for several months since my complaint. I’ve been a loyal Walgreens customer for many years, beyond filling 10 prescriptions a month also buying other items. However, now I will no longer shop there, since it has been made clear to me that customer service is not a priority.

The Pharmacy tech(Donna) had little clue as to how to expedite a routine call-in renewal for prescriptions. During my normal 30 minute commute to home, I managed to spend half of the time listening to her say«wait a minute», «hold on», while she attempted to review my entire computer records… needles, to say, I decided to just abort the call, wait until I arrived home, and utilize the automated system, which was far more cordial and user friendly. btw… The guy at the register«snorts».(sinus?)

I was not five steps in, when as associate asked If I needed help. And I really did. She walked me to the exact place where the merchandise I sought was shelved. I picked that up quickly, needed a few more things and wandered around. Again, another associate asked if I needed assistance. Holy cow! Amazing service. When I went to checkout, the clerk asked me if I found everything I needed. And I had. She was delightful. And on this four-item trip, I scored 5,000 points on my Walgreens Balance Rewards account. BINGO!
