Came right in and they stopped what they were doing to fix my loafers Very polite and professional. I use to go to cobblestone and will not anymore. They were polite and not arrogant like my former place.

The owner and his employee are rude, overcharge, don’t meet timelines, are rude again, then are unapologetic. There’s a lot of poor reviews. Take them seriously and go anyplace else.

I brought them an expensive Samsonite spinner bag that had a cut/rip/tear on its side panel, from one seam to the other, and directly under an external zipper pouch. They hand sewed it so well that you’d think the(now) line was part of the original design. In one week for about $ 35 — far cheaper than a new bag. If you want a new piece or set of luggage they have that, and lots of belts too. They also do leather repair and reconditioning. I’m intrigued by their custom leather work for phone/pad cases, wallets, whatever. Someone close to me may well be getting a hand made gift soon!

This leather shop is very talented. Great work. But I felt so disrespected. I inquired about some custom work on a bag and they helped me get a quote. I asked more questions and did more research. When I finally decided to have the work done, the quote went up for some reason. I asked why, and they’re response was, «I’ve dealt with this bag several times now from you». Oh, I offered to take my bag somewhere else, but they insisted the work can be done, so I agreed to the more expensive quote. All I needed was two screws. And they charged me $ 25. Great work, if you have the money for their work, and you have thick skin and don’t get offended easily. I didn’t think small businesses could afford to be rude to their customers.

Brought my leather messenger bag in for some minor repairs. They were very knowledgable and helpful, and the bag looked better than expected when it came back. Would use them again without hesitation.

How can a shoe repair shop that also does shoe shines get 5 stars? Excellent friendly service with expert advice. I have lived by this place for a good 30 years and just thought of it as this little shop and who goes there … well now I do. I found a really high end pair of leather shoes at a resale shop worthy of a sole upgrade so I thought I would try them out. They did an excellent job of making them like new. I also mentioned that the shoes were slightly big for me and I was told to used tongue pads … something I never would have thought of … and once placed on the inside of the tongues, fit much better. A nice $ 5 fix. After arranging for that repair we talked about shoe shine so I went and got the other pair I found, still in the car, to leave with them to be cleaned and buffed — and they came back excellent looking. They charged $ 12 for the service and already they may be my favorite pair. I know I could save that money and shine them myself but there is no way they would come out as nice looking and since I’m a guy with little style, having great looking shoes helps! They also have a shoe shine frequent buyer card. I now have a new splurge that has become a necessity. Go here for sure when you need help with any leather repair or cleaning.

I took two pairs of leather boots in that I had absolutely destroyed with the frost, slush, and mud of winter. I got them back looking brand new! I experienced excellent and friendly customer service. The cute dogs they had running around didn’t hurt either. I will definitely be coming back!

Just picked up my shoes the other day(they were ready by Saturday but I forgot, whoops!). Now, I’ll be honest about how I mangled my heels. I got the heels stuck in some sort of sewer drain down on Washington(I was sober, I swear!), and it was freezing so instead of gently tugging them out, with all of my supercece strength I yanked my feet free. Ended up totally ripping off the metallic leather off the heels and I really didn’t think they could be saved I mean, it looked like a tiny chainsaw just went at it on my heels… Hopped onto Unilocal and saw the great reviews for this place. The guy there looked a little worried but said«I’ll do my best.» Picked them up, they look almost brand new and I pretty much cried with happiness. Somehow, the guys at Shoemaker’s House were able to magically straighten out that ruined leather and glue? it back on. They even polished my shoes. THEYWERESOSHINY!!! It was a different guy when I went to pick up. Super friendly as well, seemed pleased that this place was rated positively :) It’s obvious they care about their customers and quality. Wish I had a before pic, but I couldn’t bare looking at my mangled heels…
