One of the worst hotels I’ve ever been too! Way overpriced, dirty, and a bed that is harder then a rock. Came here for a wedding and what they served for our dinner was something you’d find at a soup kitchen. Felt bad for the brides parents for what they paid per meal. They had no continental breakfast, which I would expect for the price. I will never again will I give my hard my money to this place! Trust me, sleeping in my care for free would have been better!

Despite the bad reviews we saw, we thought we’d take a chance here because a couple of years ago when we stayed it wasn’t bad. Let’s start with the good: 1). Clean bedding, mostly clean bathroom 2). Great pool area for kids The bad: 1). Very dirty room in corners, places that should be cleaned but aren’t eg: lamps, windowsills, etc — no attention to detail 2). Old 3). Not rude staff, but not overly friendly either(the place seems to be run by young people; some experienced staff is needed). 4). No continental breakfast 5). Terrible pool area for adults(there were a ton of kids in the hot tub — they could use an adult-only one. 6). Montana Mikes is the hotel restaurant and if you like absolutely all of your food deep fried in oil that tastes like it has never need changed, go for it. They offered SEVERAL appetizers but not one of them wasn’t deep fried. Thinking the potato boats would be a safe bet(potato skins), we ordered those — first time in my life they came deep fried. Yuck. They try to make up for quality with quantity and it’s just a big fail. After we learned there was no continental breakfast we found ourselves there for breakfast(sigh) and it wasn’t much better. The eggs were passable but the hash browns tasted like they were deep fried in four year old grease. The staff at the restaurant were very nice though — but again a very young bunch mostly. Best western Head Office — I hope you read these and pay attention to these reviews. We are big Best Western goers so we will visit them again(NOTTHISONE) but if this was my first stay at this chain I would never set foot in another. Do something about this particular place !!! We were so disappointed. If nothing else, the food should taste good. Montana Mikes needs help. The hotel cleaning staff need big time lessons and supervision. I run a restaurant and it takes a LOT for me to complain. So here it is.

Ugh… Old, rundown, loud hotel with horrible management and a staff that doesn’t care. Arrived at 7pm and they had our reservation wrong. After, talking the front desk person through her software we were able to get the reservation changed. But they were still cleaning rooms so we had to wait(after a 12 hour drive, that sucks). Finally got into a room and it was still dirty. The beds are horrible, the pillows are flat, and the mattresses are stained. The pool area could be nice but it too is filthy. The ceiling above the hot tub is covered with once wet paper towels… Nasty. There are many other hotels in the area… Choose one of those.

I have never had a worse experience at a hotel. Stayed there along with many other friends over the weekend for a friend’s wedding in town. Check-in was supposed to be at 3pm. They didn’t have a room ready for us until 6pm, and that was only after continuously hounding the staff that they needed to get something cleaned for us STAT.(They managed to knock $ 20 off our original room price. Not nearly enough if you ask me.) We got to our room and noticed that we only had 1 clean towel. Our toilet paper had not been replaced, they had not replaced the complimentary soap in our bathroom, so we had nothing to wash our hands with. Worst of all, I returned back home to be woken up by my boyfriend at dawn to find a bed bug crawling on us. I had brought a blanket to our hotel room, and threw it on our bed when we arrived home. That was the blanket the bug was crawling on. I checked the North Dakota bed bug registry and, sure enough, Best Western Seven Seas in Mandan is one of the first on the list. I’ve spent the entire day cleaning my apartment from top to bottom and washing everything I own. NEVERAGAIN!

There’s nothing necessarily wrong with Seven Seas, but it’s not my favorite hotel in the city. We went there for a wedding recently and the hall actually cleaned up really nicely. The staff seemed mildly happy to be working. I say that lightly because some of them looked downright annoyed. The pool area is pretty nice with a hot tub, pool, slide, and smaller children’s play area. I’ve only been in the rooms a couple times but they are just basic rooms. Nothing overly special.

We stayed in two rooms during our stay here. Do NOT stay in this building. The water park is it’s only saving grace and is usually very over crowded. The rooms were a nightmare! They are in bad need of an update. The bedspreads are disgusting. The television in the first room would not change channels. The refridgerator in one room would not get cold and the other was shut off. The showers were both moldy as was the tile on the floor. Both rooms gave us a view of the dumpsters out the back of the building. Nice. When the bath water was turned on, a rush of brown water came out then cleared up. both towel racks had been pulled out of the wall and were hanging by a thread. One was hanging from one side while the other was not even in the wall. This place is a grade«A» dump and they didn’t even seem to care. I would highly recommend staying at a hotel in Bismarck as this place isn’t fit for occupancy. Your tent may have more ammenities.

I know what you’re thinking… the Best Western gets three stars?! Well, let’s take the location into consideration. North Dakota. It’s a busy place. So, you take what you can get out here, and I was plesently surprised. Everything is very clean, and the staff is incredibly welcoming. They still have tube tvs, and the heat wasn’t turned on in my room when I arrived. Small things. There is a mediocre restaurant attached, which I will review later. It was wine. It gets three stars.

Since the remodel the food is better and it is a little nicer. Service is ok –average I still like Texas roadhouse better but this is close. food is as good as jack’s steak house in bismarck but with a better restaurant.

I tried the restatuant after reading reviews on other web sites. Friendly staff, but I feel sorry for them, as the food sucked. They are in the process of changing to a steak house. I hope the food improves, but I would not eat here again. If you want a good steak for a reasonable price, go 6 miles down the freeway to Texas roadhouse.
