Bombshell Waxing and Intimate Boutique

I called to make an appointment for an eyebrow waxing, because I had read online that they did mapping. I got there, and had been scheduled at the Metarie location, but they got me in right away! It was THE most thorough eyebrow waxing I have ever had!

Scheduled my appointment through their online system and based on online research and reviews, specifically chose who I wanted for the spray tan (Treasure) and eyebrow waxing. Well, the same person did both for my appointment and it was not who I had booked my appointment with for the spray tan. My tan looked horrible and I left with my feet, knees, and hands nearly black. The tech did not seem concerned because she had used a barrier cream so I took it as me being paranoid and I went on my way without challenging this. I was able to wipe some of this off when I got home, but the next morning after I showered, it still looked awful. The color on my face, chest and arms was very faint and so light that I could barely identify a «tan line» where my swimsuit top was. Despite this, the top of my hands, my knees and that top of my feet were a very dark brown with an slight orange tint. My legs were splotchy with spray lines on the front of my legs and very little color on the sides or back of my legs. I thought about calling to see if they could fix this, but I had to be at an event that night so I knew that it would be pointless. After all, I had scheduled my appointment for the evening prior to ensure that I would be «ready». I decided on a spray tan to hopefully save me some time, but in the end, it cost me in time and $$. I spent a lot of time prior to the appointment prepping, etc. And after, I used a pumice stone with a hair color developer to try to fade the color on the top of my hands, feet, knees, and the front of my legs. I then used my typical self tanner on my face, chest, arms and legs avoiding all of the areas that were already discolored or splotchy. In the end, I had to find a longer dress to wear with closed shoes because I was so embarrassed by my legs and feet. This was not a good experience at all and nothing like the spray tan I had before from a lady who came to my house.

This is THE place! My 14 yr old daughter has been getting her legs waxed regularly in Los Angeles — and she was very nervous about finding a new esthetician in the Northshore. Apparently, it’s not as popular amongst the young girls here, as it is in California, so it was hard to find someone we knew, who could give us a personal recommendation. We found Bombshell Waxing on Unilocal.It’s a scary thing for my daughter to do, but much less scary than shaving is for her! We explained the situation, and Clair helped my daughter feel right at home. The salon is very clean, welcoming and orderly. The staff simply couldn’t be any friendlier. All went off without a hitch or a single ouchie for my daughter. Clair was lovely and professional throughout the whole experience. The room is very private and you certainly feel that they are attending to your needs the whole time. And they offered us 50% off our first visit automatically, even though we didn’t know to ask for the special.

Today was my first time going to bombshell waxing. I absolutely hated it. I got a spray tan. Everyone I talked to says it looks horrible. I am so embarrassed. Everywhere I go people are starring at me. I look nasty and dirty. My face is to dark and my neck is white and it’s blotchy and has an orangish-​tone to it. So I called, and the lady that answered said «well what do you want me to do» I said I don’t know. So she said «take a bath» wow! moral of the story I will not be back and I wasted my money .(I wish I knew how to post pictures so yall could see) they were friendly though.

Today I visited Bombshell for my first ever Brazilian wax. My appointment was scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and I arrived at 9:30 a.m. As soon as I stepped inside I was greeted by an energetic, smiling employee. She checked me in and let my waxer Debbie know I had arrived. Debbie came out less than five minutes later and took me to the back. I was scared, terrified even, but Debbie calmed my azz down and explained the entire process. We started with the «in-​betweeni,» but I decided to keep going because I had made it so far already. The rest is a blur as I was in a whole hell of a lot of pain. When the procedure was close to being finished she started explaining the after care procedures to me. I was not listening. I was trying to practice my breathing techniques. So it was nice that she went over them again once everything was over. When I got to the register to check out the after care product we discussed was already waiting for me which was a plus because I did not retain the name due to the state of shock I was in.
Overall I had as good an experience one can have while having coarse hair ripped out of one of the most sensitive areas of her body. I currently feel the urge to do cartwheels while wearing a dress and no panties.
I purchased a Groupon for two sessions so I will most definitely be back in the future.
Oh and one thing I did like was that they sent me a text and email reminder the day before my appointment. There is a 12 hour advance notice for cancellations and the reminders were sent well before that.

Been here a couple times and the work is just okay. I find that hair gets left behind and at the cost of their brazilian, that’s just not okay. I will say Michelle is the best I’ve had out of the others though.
A huge gripe that I have is their online booking system. I can’t seem to use it although I’ve been there multiple times now. It’s rather frustrating to be forced to call to make all your appointments since they don’t always answer the phone or they close early.
Bottom line, you don’t have many other options on the Northshore so unless you’re willing to make the trek over the causeway, you are stuck. I just know I have had WAY better waxing done in the past.
