Bourré

The food here is decent and their hamburger specials are well worth the price. However, their customer service leaves much to be desired. For a table of four, we waited a little over an hour for the food to come out and about 15 – 20 minutes for the check. When we asked the waitress to split the check, she became visibly upset and it became clear she had no intention of being friendly going forward. The owner said if we had made reservations (at a bar and grill?!) then they would have been more appropriately staffed. Apparently the day they have specials are busy days. Today was a day they had a special… but only one person on the wait staff floor. Not really sure how my reservation would have resolved that problem. This was my second visit to this restaurant and will be my last. Customer service should be a key element to any company, but especially one in the food service industry. This company still has a few things to work on. I give this rating one star only because of the service.

Hidden gem of Mandeville. My two favorite things at Bourre? The Chicken Spinach Strawberry Salad and their Moscow Mules! Bliss!

Wonderful first time experience. Tried seafood gumbo, strawberry pecan salad and grilled strawberry Brie sandwich. Food and service by Meghan was a real plus

On two occasions, of the so many times I have dined here, I brought 10 to14 people with me. All got something different and all were impressed. The food, the décor, the staff and the pricing are all outstanding. Our new favorite restaurant.
Side note: acoustic materials used in construction allow normal conversation, even for those with hearing difficulties

Great food! We had the fish and it was fantastic! My son ordered the hamburger and although I wouldn’t typically order a hamburger here, I had a bite of it and it was the best burger I’ve ever tasted! I’m going back for it! The happy hour and local flavor coupon is another plus!

We visited for dinner on Saturday evening. We arrived 2 minutes before happy hour was ending unbeknownst to us, and we were ushered to the bar where the bartender politely greeted us and told us to take our time. The drinks are fresh and hand crafted, the food is well above average with a simple and very appetizing selection.
We will definitely visit again!

I was so looking forward to liking this restaurant, but it was a total disaster. First of all it was a Friday evening and the restaurant was basically empty with maybe two other tables. That was the first bad sign. We ordered drinks and those were pretty good, I have to say. Then we ordered appetizers which took forever to come out. The shrimp was undercooked and there was a hair in our goat cheese sauce that came with the roasted cauliflower and broccoli. Awhile after that, the wedge salad came and was subpar. the dressing was store bought and the bacon that was on it tasted like precooked bacon bits. It took us about an hour or more in total to receive our entrées. When we finally did receive them everything was overcooked… salmon was supposed to be medium rare and it was well done, pork chop was supposed to be medium rare and it was well done as well as burnt on one side of it. By this time it 9:30 at night and we did not have time to wait for new dishes. The owner/​manager that cooked the food was very nice and apologetic and comped our entire meal, but unfortunately we won’t be visiting again.: (

I have to say this is a classy casual restaurant. .that we need on the NorthShore. Brian Baggley has the kitchen and wait staff synchronized. Every time we eat there we try something different. The chef makes it all delicious and beautiful. Great place to escape those loud places and enjoy your food and drink & guest.

What a great lunch. Owner very attentive and all staff were graciously welcoming, checking on us often. Food was very good. Topped off the lunch with a slice of the creole cheesecake! Yummy! A repeat visit in on our calendar.

We visited them this past Sunday for brunch. The place is attractive and the host and waiter were pleasant. The busboy was attentive. $ 2 for Mimosa’s — DING — WINNER.
Now to the food. They had interesting things on the menu, but I felt that I’d just get an omelette (what could go wrong). I have never seen such an ugly, unappetizing looking omelette. It looked like lard and cheese had hardened on the outside and it was very, very flat — no fluffiness here. The bacon was good.
My guest had eggs benedict on a biscuit — she said it was good and melted in her mouth. She seemed to like it.
I wouldn’t go back for brunch.

Stopped by on the fly the other day and had a late lunch. Really fantastic. I enjoyed it so much I’m going back for brunch today.

This is my new favorite spot in Mandeville! I’ve been 3 different times now, once with girlfriends at the bar for happy hour, once with my husband for dinner and once with another couple for brunch. Every time was good and a slightly different experience.
The happy hour special was really good (half off wine, cocktails and bar food I think?) and the cocktails and food were great (I had a French 75 and we split the baked Brie and cheese plate– highly recommend).
For dinner, we sat in a nice quiet-​ish corner and literally everything we ordered was delicious. We had the cheese platter appetizer, He had beef tenderloin and I had the salmon entrée. One of our dishes came with blue cheese potatoes au gratin, which was mouthwatering. Best au gratin ever.
Brunch– one of us ordered the crab oscar benedict, 2 people had French toast and I had the smoked salmon Benedict. We had yummy mimosas all around and not a complaint in the house! We will definitely be back with friends.

I liked it. Everything was good. The wait staff was really good, and the owner came by and talked to us. He was very nice. Give it a try.
