Simply the best coffee! Small batched roasted and fresh made pastries!!! I love the 40 year history of this great Louisiana/New Orleans coffee House. Go tour their roasting facility in the heart of New Orleans!!!

My favorite part about thus PJs is the patio– a great place to chill that is private and comfortable in the open air. The coffee is great and the staff is wonderful! I could do without chain-smoking hipsters, though. Cheers!

This could be a really good coffee shop. You can probably tell from my reviews, I really like coffee. In other cities around the country the coffee shops are always experimenting with the grind, pressure, temperature, etc with their espresso. The baristas will want you to try what they’ve come up with. Here in Louisiana it seems in every shop I go to that the employees aren’t there because the love coffee they are just there for a job. This PJs has its own feel unlike all the other places around here that aren’t very unique. I was hoping I would find people who love playing with coffee but found employees that sit outside and you have to get their attention for them to come inside. Then they really don’t know very much about coffee. They know how to push a button on the machine. Also in the evening they clean everything long before closing time and then don’t want to make anything for you. They also don’t use pre-warmed cups they serve everything in paper cups even if you are having your coffee there. I guess Starbucks is rubbing off on the smaller places. The coffee(I only get espresso based hot coffee) is ok, not bad but nothing special. It’s has improved lately, there was an odd taste for a while. I would like them to experiment with their frozen coffee. Keep the granita but make a second lighter version like Caffe Caffe has. It think it uses French vanilla coffee and may have some brown sugar or other sweetner in it. I was hoping this would be one of those places with espresso tastings, gear demos, and other events like you see at the independent shops around the country but it is just like all the rest in the end.

Great coffee and friendly service. This location(hwy 22) has been there forever and has addictive baked goods and a quiet shaded patio. Small take-one-leave-one honor library is fun. Parking is easy, prices are good and they have a nice selection of coffee and tea stuff.
