Amazing sushi this place is a must try if you’ve never been! Try the new orleans championship roll and the snowcrab salad

The best Japanese restaurant in town. The Unagi was warm and buttery on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside. The ikura delicious salty globes with a nice snap, like a delicious Japanese caviar indulgence. Our desert is called mochi balls made with green tea ice cream ball taste like pistachio ice cream surrounded by slightly sticky glutinous cookie dough Henry the owner is very nice and friendly like family member. He already knows our order soon as we walk in

I love sake garden, it’s hands down my favorite sushi place on the north shore. The staff is always nice and efficient, we’ve never had bad service here. The establishment is clean and the food is fresh. We come here at least once a week.

If you like sushi and not that imitation sushi other mandeville sushi restaurants serve, then this is the place to come. Best sushi in St. Tammany by far. The fresh salmon sashimi was the freshest we’ve had since returning home to Louisiana. The eel salad was very good as well as the spider roll.(Softshell crab) Other area sushi restaurants add imitation crab to the spider roll, not Sake Garden… Only authentic softshell crab.

I used to be a big fan of this Restaurant. The last few times«in my opinion» the tuna had no flavor. Also they did not have the happy hour from 5−6pm. It would also be nice if they would use plastic gloves when handling the food instead of using there bare hands. Also, it was very warm in the Restaurant.

I eat at Sake Garden several times a week. I cannot get enough of it! Best sushi I’ve ever had. Great prices and great service! There is nothing that I don’t like about this place. Trust me that you will not be disappointed!

I have eaten at Sake Garden a few times now and it is consistently great but just seems to be getting better. I ate there tonight… The tuna tataki salad was perfect and the eggplant appetizer melts in your mouth. It has a sweet taste but not too sweet and somehow the eggplant seems caramelized. The mackerel sushi is also delicious and comes with a paper thin lemon slice on top. Honestly, everything I’ve had there is delicious. The service is friendly and our service timing was impeccable. Most of the time the business seems slow which is disappointing since this is one of the best restaurants on the northshore and definitely deserves your business!

I was quite shocked about our dinner at Sake Garden. Like, very pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Sushi in Mandeville, of all places! Sake Garden is a smaller, more intimate restaurant — there aren’t very many tables, so I would expect a wait over the weekend. My coworkers and I(party of 5) went on a Monday evening, and it wasn’t busy at all. First surprise of the evening: edamame on the house for all of us! The edamame was oversalted, but if you just avoided sucking on the pod, you’d get enough salt to season the beans. Miso/clear soup is normally served, but we also got that, too. Again, the miso was also on the salty side. We ordered 8 rolls and a big plate of nigiri sushi. The rolls were pretty simple, but they were prepared well. The cold rolls were better than the cooked ones — I like my cooked rolls to be hot, and these were warm at best. Final surprise of the evening: banana tempura and ice cream on the house! I can’t even fathom how we received so many items on the house(unless they just give those to you already, and I’m completely unaware of that…). This was a great dessert, a really good way to end the evening. The service at Sake Garden was always attentive without being overbearing, and they really know how to treat their customers right. While the food was so-so(some good, some meh), the service excelled, making your time here a really enjoyable one! 3 for food, 5+ for service

Really love this place! GREAT for a date night! My boyfriend and I like to stop in here for Sake, a glass of wine, and fresh rolls. We like to sit at the sushi bar, and are always greeted with a warm smile by the sushi chefs. Last time, they even made us a special dish to taste for free. That was really a nice touch. The music was at a good level and romantic. Also, the interior has ambient lighting and a sets nice mood. The sushi is really great too! One of my favorite places to go when I wanna get fancy and go out!

Great and inexpensive lunch specials on the weekdays. Usually around 7 – 12 dollars. My favorite roll is the LSU roll.

Rolls are great. Service could be better but that’s pretty common these days. Definitely my favorite sushi spot.

Despite driving past this restaurant nearly every day, I had never tried it until a few nights ago. For my first visit I decided to order to-go. The ordering process was quite easy. I chose to call my order in, but they also use the Menu Express delivery service if you don’t want to leave the house. My order consisted of salmon sashimi, a tiger roll and a crunchy roll. I probably should have specified what size order I wanted for sashimi, but the menu online only listed one size. Unfortunately they gave me an order with only two pieces. I guess that is OK if you aren’t sharing, but I was. The rolls were OK, but there was something missing. These seemed slightly dry. Maybe the to-go process was to blame, but I’ve had similar items from other restaurants with no issues. The tiger roll did come with a side sauce that once added, did improve the roll significantly, but it still seemed as if it could have been better. I am sure I will give Sake Gardens another shot. Next time I will eat in to see if the experience is different.

We love the food here and service is always good. They best rice and sushi around. The only complaint I have is the temperature was a little warm each time. The skills there are amazing! They can shave cucumbers so thin you can see through them.

Sort of looks like a dive from the outside — in an unassuming strip mall along a dark corner of Hyw 190. Don’t be fooled — this is an excellent sushi place. Casual but nice. The sushi is excellent — fresh, creative rolls, downright yummy, Try the Louisiana Roll with a tall Kerin. The more traditional items are just as good. Prices are reasonable. Try them all. You will be happy!

The more I eat at places on the Northshore, the more I find that appearances can be deceiving. This certainly applies for Sake Gardens. Snug in the middle of a strip mall can be found some delicious sushi and Japanese. The waiters are quick to come over, hand you a warm fragrant hand towel, and take your drink order. The menu is basic but extremely good. D loves their oyako donburi, one of his favorite Japanese dishes(and very hard to find outside of lunchtime menus). I love their super-fresh sushi. Prices are reasonable, portions are good. We like this place so much that it’s become a standard dinner stop, and the staff has started to recognize us!
