Great food, service AND value! It’s a small place and the ambience is meh… But I’m a huge fan.

Literally the best sushi on the Northshore and Southshore from what I’ve tasted. Always freshly made, and the ingredients/items on the menu are creative and delicious! Would recommend this place to everyone! They stay busy on Friday nights, so don’t get rude if you have to wait for really good food!

No matter what we get it is always fresh and timely(take out or dine in.) The Lettuce Wrap Roll, Burning Man Roll and Sashimi Tuna are my favorites. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Small family friendly dining place. Dine in or take out. Can watch as they prepare your sushi. Often busy. Good selection of menu items.

Best sushi on the North Shore. Come here almost once a week with my boyfriend. Love the burning man and special eel.

Found a long black hair in my sushi. Not a big fan of this place anymore. Hopefully that kind of thing doesn’t happen often here.

I went there once to eat at the restaurant, and the sushi was good for a fair price. I went again to order take out for sushi, and I asked for a soufflé cup of smelt roe(that I would pay for) and they refused to give it to me after paying $ 50+ for sushi. Terrible customer service on the sushi-makers side. The hostess was polite about it, but passed the message on. I’ve been going to Yujin for years, and they always give me extra smelt roe at no additional cost, and they are way more customer oriented! Never again, Kozoku — there are too many other sushi restaurants in town to not have good customer service.

Sushi is always fresh and it’s about five minutes from our house, so we eat here often. Service is quick and professional.

My complaint isn’t necessarily with the food. The food is typically very good. The service however, is just plain terrible. Our waitress was very quick to come and get our drink and food orders and then she basically disappeared. When she came to bring our appetizer she stopped right at our table, food still in hand, and then turned her back to us to have a little chit chat with the hostess before setting down the food. Still standing at the table. We had to flag her down for drink refills. They brought the check before clearing any of the dirty dishes or napkins, which is just plain gross. Not only that, she gave me a bit of an attitude when I asked her to get the dirty plates off the table. I’ll just be getting take out from now on.

Got takeout tonight and WOW. Freshness was off the charts, quality of rolls was superb, and you definitely get your money’s worth! Very happy I decided to try this place out, definitely will be a repeat customer!

In my opinion the best sushi value on the Northshore. Good quality and very good portion size. They do a lot of business out of a small space, so it does get crowded. They should probably upgrade to a larger/nicer building, but their prices would definitely have to increase, so enjoy this gem while it lasts.

My girlfriend and I eat here fairly regularly. The sushi is amazing not just in taste but in presentation as well.(Ex: my dragon roll came complete with an asparagus nose and sirachi fire breath). I think it shows the quality of the food when they put that much time into the presentation. Of course everything tastes amazing and is about average priced for sushi in the area. The staff is all friendly and helpful. The only minor complaint is that the restaurant is a bit small so it can get hard to have a conversation during peak hours. This is a minor complaint of course so overall its a great experience with excellent sushi.

My girlfriend and I come here once a week. The service is prompt and welcoming. The sushi is literally the freshest sushi I have ever put in my mouth. It leaves you wondering how much more money they are spending on their seafood compared to surrounding sushi restaurants on the north shore. I brought my mom from California(who has ate a lot of sushi at plenty of highly recommended restaurants in California) here and she admitted that it was the best sushi she ever had. I will recommend this to anyone looking for a FRESH sushi experience.

Let’s start with the interior, which is lime green, and not so Japanese or ambient. Right as you walk in the door, everyone is seated perfectly to stare right at you as you’re waiting to be seated. Also, it smells quite fishy in there most of the time. If you are there for a date, it’s not really the most romantic atmosphere. Good for a quick lunch or to pickup a to-go order. They close AT9:00pm, which means, the kitchen closes AT9:00…so if you walk in at 8:45, hurry and order(as we were once told by the waitress) The sushi is good, but not anything spectacular. They make their Rainbow roll different from 95% of other sushi places, which kind of annoys me, but I have ordered other things on the menu and was satisfied. The Mandeville Roll is good, and also the Mississippi roll. No hard feelings, but I would much rather Sake Garden just down the road for a more intimate dinner.

One of the best places in Mandeville or the Northshore. This place is not very big but you never have to really wait very long for a table. One of the few places that you can get sushi made with brown rice.

This is the best sushi on the Northshore. They have the freshest fish and the tuna just melts in your mouth. The Erica Bowl is a great deal! It consists of avacado, sushi rice, tuna, snow crab, and crunchies!(only 7 $) Add the sweet white sauce and seaweed salad and it is even better. This place is great and the service is friendly and attentive.

Kazoku is a great little sushi restaurant located on Hwy 59 near the Donut King. This place has amazing sushi. Their rolls are priced between $ 4.95 and $ 11.00 or so. The ingredients were fresh and obviously high quality. I tried a dynamite roll, spicy tuna and salmon tempura roll. The spicy tuna roll was my favorite. The tuna was so fresh and clean tasting(if this makes sense). This may have been the best sushi I have tried so far. I had heard great things about their tempura(fried) cheesecake. I didn’t care for it, but the rest of the table devoured it in seconds. The servers were very friendly, but as the restaurant got crowded the service suffered. It took far to long to get our bill, but they had gotten crowded. Our table ordered six rolls which was enough for three people. The bill was only $ 33. They do have a special deal where selected rolls are two for $ 7.99 which is really a great deal. They do have kids meals on the menu. I believe they have a choice of tempura chicken or shrimp and it comes with steamed or fried rice. I highly recommend this restaurant.
