The Cressy house is a beautiful grand retreat nestled in the heart of old Mandeville, Louisiana just steps away from Lake Pontchartrain. My first stay at the Cressy house was in the Ponchartrain Room which features a spacious deck and a view of the lake. The mattresses are heavenly, the bedding is crisp and clean and comfortable. The accommodations are perfect for a private getaway. What makes the Cressy House unique is it’s classic charm, it’s private entrances and the wonderful hosts, Laura and David Cressy. The rooms are very self contained with a small refrigerator a bathroom and shower or tub. Each room has its own entrance which can be accessed by an outside stairwell or the super-convenient elevator. Overall, the atmosphere is great the neighborhood is classic Louisiana– complete with live oaks and Spanish moss – and all the amenities you need are right there. But if you’re like me, you want to get access to New Orleans — and that’s just a picturesque(but long) drive across the famous Lake Pontchartrain Causeway Bridge. And when you return home, your quiet, cozy bed is waiting for you– away from the chaos of the Crescent City. I highly recommend the Cressy House Bed & Breakfast for your next stay in quaint, old Mandeville Louisiana.
