Deep Roots Garden Center and Florist

After waiting on the phone for an hour with an answering service then spending another 30 minutes on the phone with the florist the next day reiterating the conversation from the previous day, I am completely dissatisfied. The recipient text me a picture of the succulent arrangement and needless to say I was embarrassed at the final product and I felt duped. I’m sure I will laugh about this some day (comparing the advertised arrangement to the final product is kind of hilarious) but as of right now it’s not funny at all. I want my money back

So I am the proud owner of a 14 year old chinese evergreen from Deep Roots. I met Jon Bell when he was a teenager working for Bob’s Nursery. Bob’s became Annie’s Nursery several years later. Then Annie’s Nursery got bought out by Jon Bell who renamed it Deep Roots! I still have the plant he sold me around the turn of the century!!!
Through talking to Jon I’ve learned far more than I ever imagined about indoor plants (I don’t have a yard). My home and my business both have plants furnished by Deep Roots. I learned that chinese evergreens are just about the most hearty damned plant you can have and will survive quite a bit. I learned that a spathiphyllum will tell you when it needs water by laying it’s leaves down completely. Fertilizer, bromeliads, repotting, I’ve learned it all from Jon and Deep Roots.
I won’t go anywhere else. I’ve always gotten sound advice, professional service and great value. When a $ 35 plant lives 14 years, you know you bought a quality product!!!

Happy Happy plants, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. They also have a pretty big selection of pots (the container, not the plant.), with OK prices. Note that there are no dogs allowed in the premises, so keep the puppy at home.

I know nothing about flowers, especially a bridal bouquet. I explained to the gals there that I was a «flower virgin». The staff couldn’t be more helpful and worked with me on the budget. The bouquet and the boutonnière exceeded our expectations, absolutely beautiful, and it was truly a bargain. I will be recommending them to anybody in need of flowers.

Poor customer service. Look out for the older lady that rules over everyone there, she is rude and has no customer service skills.

We got the most beautiful Christmas tree from Deep Roots! Expect them to be busy, but very much worth the wait. Excellent selection and delivery service.

I wish I could give more stars! This place is amazing, so much that sometimes I just find a reason to drive past and and *happen* to park, walk around the store and enjoy the greenery. The plants here are always happy and healthy! The staff are extremely knowledgeable and can help with any greenthumb woes. Plus, the pottery collection is on-​point!

If you run into problems don’t expect their customer service to live up to expectations! Truly a BAH-​HUMBUG EXPERIENCE!
We purchased a Xmas tree Thanksgiving weekend, on the lot it looked crooked and we were told it was the slant of the driveway– FAIR ENOUGH & WE BELIEVED THEM. We opted to purchase the stand for an additional $ 27 so that we wouldn’t have to deal with setting it up our own and all of the hassle. Unfortunately HASSLE IS ALL WE GOT.
Given they weren’t able to deliver for a few days and we were heading out of town we opted to get the tree home ourselves. When we did we had the leaning tower of Piza… Literally the tree was leaning at a 25% degree angle.
We called to explain the problem and were told that we could try to wiggle the stand to fix it or pay an additional $ 15 to have someone come out. We tried for 1.5 hours to fix the stand and even tried our own stand, in hopes of getting our tree set up before we headed out of town, no luck the stand was drilled at an angle.
We called the next day & asked to talk to the manager who offered to send out someone to try to fix the tree– they came and agreed that it couldn’t be fixed. The resolution? We had to borrow a truck & return the tree ourselves– WHAT A HASSLE!
After we returned the tree we headed back for tree #2– ONLY TO BE TOLD that we’d have to pay $ 15 for the delivery fee if we wanted someone to make sure that this time the tree was actually straight on the stand.-UNBELIEVABLE. They stated that if we’d purchased delivery with the first tree that they’d be able to credit us on delivery– seriously? So when we asked if they could charge us delivery today and credit us next week– the answer THAT’S NOT POSSIBLE. REALLY, YOU’VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.
It’s not the $ 15, IT’S THE PRINCIPLE, our first tree was a disaster, we did all the leg work to get it home & return it, at a minimum they should have delivered the second tree for free.

thank you heather for making our special day so beautiful .you did an amazing job. i loved every single style of arrangements these were the most beautiful arrangements i have ever seen and i loved the butterflys in my bouquet;) this place has an amazing staff and great customer service. they have an amazing assortment of flowers to choose from from exotic to your everyday flowers. i give 6 stars;)

Came here the other day to ask about my Wisteria and what could be going on with it. The guy that helped me out was Bobby and he was great! Thank you Bobby for getting me the info I needed and for showing me the organic veggie plants and stuff.
Really enjoyed this place and will becoming back again soon. Especially since I found out that they are Pro-​Organic and sell the organic veggies and fruits I am interested in growing in my backyard. (I know this had nothing to do with my Wisteria lol)

Was pleasantly surprised to see the range of beautiful, well kept plants here. I was given so much help and advise from one guy (didn’t grab his name). He wasa very knowledgable and advised me to come back next week as there would be a better supply of stuff. (this was my first review)
I bought a load of vegetable plants from here. Very reasonable and got some lovely heirloom tomatoes and herbs which weren’t more that $ 3 each. To think you could have a whole summers supply for $ 6. If you are a beginner or have no idea what your doing, like me, then you couldn’t get much more help from more knowledgable staff.
I will only go here from now on for my plants.

Jeff is the über botany master at Deep Roots. If there’s something to know about plants, flowers, care, feeding and planting/​potting, he will know it. Rarely do you find someone with such passion and extreme knowledge and enthusiasm about his craft. Let him impress, educate and entertain you!
After struggling with self-​selection at the big home improvement stores, an hour at Deep Roots helped us fill our balcony and roof deck with amazing looking, unique and long lasting plants appropriate for the beach.
Expect to pay market rate for this level of service, but Deep Roots is unsurpassed!

Best organic garden in town! Loved this place clean, professional, super friendly and family owned. They taught me a lot, helped me to my car and have a huge variety of everything you can imagine. My new fav spot will be coming back again and again! It is a bit pricey but other than that it’s great! Thanks Deep Roots. –Channon

This location is a pickup point for the south central farmers collective. Call In the order by Monday and on Wednesday 2−6pm pickup your $ 20 box of organic, seasonal produce. Each box has a wide variety of vegetables, fruits, and herbs. I love knowing that what I get is fresh and organic. It also sometimes forces me to try cooking new vegetables. getting out of your comfort zone can be delicious!
While here I bought plants from the nursery, pots and organic soil. Staff was helpful.

My boyfriend was in trouble. Big trouble.
I received a few deliveries from him in one day– and the staff was really sweet– delivery guys were always smiling.
Needless to say– I forgave him. Well. Working on forgiving him.
Thanks deep roots for creating a good memory out of a bad situation.

After receiving the absolute worst customer service possible at International Garden in El Segundo, I left and went to Deep Roots instead. Well worth every penny because I couldn’t have been happier with the help I received from John. He took his time to work with me and teach me about the different succulents that would create a great arrangement in two planters. He laid them out for me and made sure I was content with the color coordination before I purchased. I’m very happy.
I will absolutely be going back to Deep Roots anytime I need gardening supplies in the future!

The staff at Deep Roots Garden Center was very helpful and this location has it’s own parking lot and what looks to be a very nice selection. So, parking is easy and with their parking lot, it’s easy to load up your purchases.
I saw they sold venus fly traps, cactus, live lady bugs and other things here, so it’s a neat place to visit too.
If I every have any green or floral needs, I’m sure to recommend Deep Roots and support the local business.

Went there with a coupon and the kind, patient lady helped me pick out different plants that looked so beautiful and healthy and reasonably priced. She assured me that they are very resilient and don’t need much care.
I definitely will go back!

Watch out for the entrance, my Miata almost bottomed out!
Besides that, tons of awesome employees who helped me kickstart my first apartment garden. And they all have the green thumb so you don’t have to worry about getting unnecessary products. I’ll definitely go back, once I lay some new pots.

Very nice shop with a large selection of plants. When you’re on site and need assistance, they are VERY accommodating. They will spend lots of time with you and they’re VERY knowledgable about plants/​flowers. This is 5 stars.
However, be aware, you pay for this service. Their plants are atleast double what you would pay elsewhere. So, only come here if you don’t know what you want and are willing to pay for help.
