Only place in Manhattan near the beach you can rent bikes. Small store with limited options and the equipment is definitely used but friendly service and fair prices. Cool guy charged us for half an hour rather than full hour when we returned them early.

I called and asked how much it is to rent a beach cruiser for a day and a guy with a heavy accent answered and his answer was very unclear and he kept mentioning 3 people, which didn’t make sense at all. He spoke with an attitude and was very impatient. I tried to figure things out but he just hang up the phone. Terrible service.

Renter beware! I rented bikes for myself and 3 young children. I mile away the chain broke on my bike because it was rusted out. When I called and explained they said that they couldn’t come get us, we would have to push the bike back 1 mile. When we returned they still charged me $ 10. You are better off paying more and getting bikes that won’t brake down.

Too expensive $ 8 per hour with squeaky wheels and rusted bike stand that was hard to kick up. And I don’t understand why they need my credit card number and expiration date. They can take a hint from Bargain Bikes in Huntington Beach who is $ 10 for entire day with good service and bikes.

The guy shows up after opening, should have been 10am. We paid for 2 bikes, full day with plans to go to Santa Monica. We are avid riders. With no gears, raised handles on a uncomfortable angle, and very poor foot brakes, the ride was treacherous. We didn’t feel safe. We went to Venice Beach and back. What was most annoying is the guy couldn’t care less with anything we shared with him. Unfortunately, he’s the only bike rental in MB.

The people here are very nice, and the price was actually inexpensive. However, the bikes weren’t very stable or easy to ride. Granted that I never rode a bike, but even my husband who is an experienced bike rider thought it was not sturdy and heavy. They also didn’t have a lot of bikes to choose from.

The guy who runs this place is old and in a wheelchair, but he seems to have a genuine interest in making sure people have fun at the beach. Still only 8 bucks an hour to rent a funky beach cruiser, but it’s a helluva lot better than having to walk. Only one block from the pier.

After checking out the reviews and in need of a bike rental, I decided to try this place and I must say I was extremely impressed with their customer service… Love the friendly service and in that small time spent at the place, I realized they are great individuals… May God bless those people and their business!!! I will definitely recommend the place!!!

The young dude and old guy in the chair are cool. Bikes are in pretty good condition and $ 8/​hr is reasonable. I came back a bit early and they gave us an extra 20 minutes. Best date idea and a great way to enjoy the beach.

I rented a cruiser bike for my teenage daughter today. It was not in great condition (Panama Jack’s brand) and very unstable. I felt it was unsafe for her to ride it and she wasn’t going to risk it. We returned to the store 10 mins later saying the bike isn’t in good shape. The Filipino guy working there said nothing. He was not personable from the start.
I wonder if it’s under new ownership.
I wouldn’t go back to rent from them.

$ 8/​hr for beach cruiser rental and this includes a basket and lock if you want it. They close at 6pm on Saturdays so make sure you’re back on time. Rental process is painless and the bikes are in decent shape.
For the price, I can’t complain and will definitely use them again.

I think they raised the hourly bike rental fee to $ 8 an hr (I went on the first Sunday of November). They took down our credit card info for security and tore off the paper with cc info when we returned the bikes.

Good place, bikes were well maintenaned and cheap. (Much less than at the hotel offer). Got the benefit of the time, they charged us only for 2 hours. 28 bucks for both instead of the $ 30 for one at the first place. Also, the owner was very cool and hung out in front being friendly with people. The locaiton is right next to the Manhattan beach bike trail so you can pick up and drop off the bike and avoid having to get the bike in your car. Funbunns fulfilled my «to do in California» list. Rented a cruiser bike for $ 7 an hour. Person helping customers was not that friendly, and did not allow the customer to choose the bikes either. My boyfriend was given a bike that was not appropriate for his height, causing him to have an unpleasant bike ride. I think it would be better if Funbunns allow their customers to select the bikes they want to rent.
Other than that, I was glad to have rented a bike to enjoy the beautiful views of Manhattan Beach.

Something about bike riding along the beach with the cool breeze hitting your face is just an amazing feeling :)
Came here to rent a few beach cruisers + a mountain bike (brakes on the handles) since one of my friends wasn’t used to the back peddaling brake on a beach cruiser. (tandems are available as well)
Pretty simple process: Tell them how many bikes you need, how long you plan on renting for, show only one drivers license from the group, and everyone who rents needs to sign a consent form, and then you’re on your way!
You can also request bike locks + baskets for your bike (it’s essential for us girls who carry purses and other high maintenance shit).
We rented the bikes for 1.5 hrs and each paid $ 12 so I’m not entirely sure how that price came about since other Unilocalers are saying $ 7/​hr, but either way, I thought the price was still decent.
Only 3 stars here because I feel like they could take the time to maintain their bikes a little more… a lot of them look very old and dingy and the treads on the wheels are all pretty worn out.

One of the things I wanted to do while I was visiting California was to ride my bike along the beach.

Renting a cruiser bike from them was easy. I just walked in, requested a bike, and I was on my way! Rental was something cheap ($ 7 an hour, I think), and the bike I received was cute, comfy, and it did the job.
Funbunns also sells a nice variety of other beach essentials. I bought a beach bag and a beach towel from here for pretty cheap as well.
Friendly service? Cheap cruisers? I’m a fan.

$ 7/​hour for beach cruiser bike rentals, super accommodating with their bikes. They weren’t stingy on our times, only charging us for an hour when we were a few minutes over.
Great business, right in the heart of downtown Manhattan Beach. Couldn’t ask for anything more!

I’ve rented multiple times from Funbunns. Their bikes aren’t the best, but for an hour, they do the job perfectly! The boardwalk is just a block away, and you can ride (south) all the way to Torrence Beach and back in an hour (or just over, but they’ve never charged me for the extra 5 – 10 minutes).
Have a blast, see the beach and all the insanely beautiful homes along «The Strand» while you cruise on your bike from Funbunns!

$ 7 per hour beach cruiser rent. It’s right by Manhattan Beach pier so it’s a really short walk to the bike path. We rented for a little over two hours, came out to $ 15 and some change.
Fast, quick paper to sign, grab your bikes and you’re on your way!
They also have cheap $ 9 kites that fly pretty well provided that you don’t get any sand on any of the sticker tabs before you get it on the actual kite.
