Kim’s Tailor

I’m wearing my grandmother’s dress for my wedding in the fall — satin and lace from the 60’s. Mr. Kim did an amazing job on such a delicate garment! Took my fiancée here for his wedding outfit as well. Reasonably priced, and he gets it done very quickly. Nothing but five stars for this place!

Mr. Kim is the best in the business, he’s saved countless pants/​shirts/​suits from demise. Won’t use anyone but him!

I am super petite and have to get most of my clothes altered. I have tried many, many alterations places in town and I love Mr. Kim! He is very meticulous and does excellent work. The prices are on par with all the other alterations places, but the difference is, he doesn’t try to upsell me; he is honest about the work that needs to be done. I recently had a dress that he altered. I tried it on at home after the alterations (not in the shop) and it was still too big, so I brought it back and he did a rush job on fixing it, free of charge. I am very happy with his work! Would highly recommend!

Every time I visit, he does a fantastic job. I cannot find another better tailor. I’ve been using his services for 10 years in the South Bay, and I don’t feel the need to go to anyone else. The most distinguishing characteristic part of his service is that he keeps his word on the pick-​up date and also provides exceptional quality for all my garments.

Went to pick up my pants and they were not done correctly. Returned the next day and they had been finished and corrected.
So over priced… Won’t be returning.

Mr. Kim not only does great work, but he is extremely nice and honest. I had six pairs of pants hemmed and tapered. He made great recommendations that resulted in greater savings for me. He did not try and upsell at all. Just a pleasure interaction all around. I highly recommend his services.

Mr Kim does a beautiful job. Zippers replaced, pants hemmed, and repairs all done efficiently. Prices are reasonable, too.

I am so disappointed in the level of work and respect of this establishment. I went in with a bridesmaids dress and was charged $ 115 to alter. When I wasn’t happy with the results I was told «it’s not his job» and he literally walked away from me. I asked for some money back because I would need to go somewhere else to alter and he refused! Absolutely horrible horrible Taylor. I can’t believe that he didn’t finish the job. Just gave up… Would never recommend!!!

So rude. Gave him 4 suits to alter. Prices are very high but I still went ahead with it. Came back and needed additional alterations as it was not done properly. He gave me a ride attitude and I asked if he could fix another pair of a slacks, he did not want to.

Amazing Service and Work
Highly recommend Kim’s Tailor for anyone looking to fix and make their clothes looked brand-​new. I worked around his shop and decided to taper my jeans.
Once I talked to him I could notice that he is so friendly and he was so professional at his job.
And I got surprised because my jeans were tapered just perfect. It was fast and neat and prices were also reasonable.
I guarantee Kim’s Tailor is the best alternating shop.

I had a holiday party on a saturday and it was already wednesday and I had not taken my garment for alterations. But luckily I came across Kim’s tailors. Mr. Kim was very helpful, giving me advice on the alteration ideas I had in mind. He was even able to have it done before the event. The only downside was that he does not answer the phone. I called twice before taking my garment in with no answer but I went in anyway because I needed a speedy alteration. I also made a call to him to see if my garment was finished but still no answer. So don’t be discouraged if there is no answer he is busy working but is definitely there during the posted business hours. Also a tip to new customers: he is located in a business building near the corner of marine and sepulveda on the first floor.

Kim’s Tailor is the best in this area. I take all of my clothes to him and he always does a great job, charges good prices, is always super nice, and does rush jobs anytime I need it. I highly recommend him!

Mr. Young Kim is a gem! I have finally found a true tailor and craftsman. His tailor shop is easy to find and there is ample off street (and free) parking outside his store. His store is right off the PCH and within a few miles immediately south of LAX.
When I’m in the vicinity, I make sure to save up my slacks, jeans & suits that require alteration. His prices are über reasonable. He will accommodate your timeline too. Mr. Kim is an old school tailor. Just check how he stitches your clothes. Don’t be fooled by his humble & kind demeanor. He’s a perfectionist and takes great pride in making you smile!
Mr. Kim is on my bucket list: I intend to have him craft a 3 piece dark blue gabardine suit for me. I’ve recommended Mr. Kim to a few friends. I’m awaiting what I know will be their 5 star review too!

The best tailor in town. Never overcharge and very accommodating for all my needs. I will be forever customer of Mr. Kim. So if anyone out there Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, El Segundo area… this is the best tailor in the South Bay.

Amazing experience. Reasonable prices. Visiting from NY and needed my pants tapered for a wedding. Super fast and they did a great job. He even fixed a mistake the last tailor made! I’ll be back next time I am in town.

A friend referred me to Kim’s Tailor when I was looking for somewhere to alter my wedding dress. I tried him out with altering the straps of two sundresses, and he did a great job. He seemed precise and knowledgeable. I knew it was a big risk trying him for wedding dress alterations, but I didn’t have anywhere else to go (I usually go to Coco’s Alterations, but I didn’t trust her with a wedding dress).
Pros: Mr. Kim was extremely reasonable. He only charged me $ 140 to alter my entire wedding dress. Coco’s Alterations in Redondo Beach was going to charge me $ 500.
CONS: At times, I could be frustrated with the language barrier, and I wouldn’t necessarily suggest him for a wedding dress. I’m not sure if he didn’t understand what we were asking for when we asked for a bustle, or if he didn’t know how to do one, but he did not sew a bustle for my dress. I was also frustrated because I felt that he had hemmed one part of my dress shorter than the rest, and when I asked for the lace he cut off so we could add it back on, he told me he threw it all away. I felt he should have kept the lace until the job was completely done, in case of errors. Fortunately, in the end, the dress was long enough so that no one could see if the hem was uneven.
Summary: I would return to Mr. Kim for most alterations, but I don’t think I would refer him for a wedding dress.

Great craftsmanship, reasonable prices and friendly service. Mr. Kim has been our go-​to tailor for years. Close on Sundays.

Best tailor in LA! Phenomenal craftsmanship, very reasonable prices, and super friendly.
It is owned and operated by a husband and wife team. They are very cordial and do not try to sell you on unnecessary things. I have come to them for all of my alterations.
