Got a half off coupon for Cake n Wings through New York Daily News Deals. Decided to order cake n wings for SuperBowl. Due to an overwhelming response to the promotion they weren’t able to deliver on SuperBowl Sunday so I went to the Bronx to pick up the order. They were very nice, and the food was good. It was definitely a hit at the gathering.

Yummy crispy wings, delicious Cake Tots, friendly staff and incredibly prompt delivery times make Cake N Wings an awesome catering service for your next casual event or as a fun treat for next Sunday’s football-watching. They have an extensive selection of wing and cake flavors. We tried the Buffalo, Garlic and Honey wings. The Garlic wings were the standout, with a hint of ginger that made them reminiscent of Korean fried chicken. The Honey flavor was an addictive blend of sweet and savory, and the Buffalo wings had a good hot sauce taste. Cake Tots are bite-sized cake squares, served with frosting on the side for DIY application. The Red Velvet cake is moist yet holds together adequately for a finger food and the Cheesecake icing is sweet and tangy. but I should have ordered an extra frosting. Prices are excellent, with a full order of 100 wings at $ 70 and a giant plate of Cake Tots at $ 35, you can cater a party for just over a hundred bucks, and that’s a major bargain. We’ll definitely be ordering from here again!

I was caught off guard and pleasantly surprised. A fellow Unilocaler was having a Spelling Bee fundraiser for her trip to Nepal. She is going there to help rebuild a school. I thought that was a noble need and wanted to support her. So I ventured to PS111(By the way, I don’t understand the way NYC schools are named. For me, it feels quite generic when your school is PS blah blah blah. I actually prefer unique names, but hey I am only one person with one opinion). Once there, I am transported back to high school, remembering the hallways, and the auditorium and the days of being an adolescent. Some of it good, and some bad. The Bee gets under way, and as a treat, Cake N Wings catered some food for the event. I tried the honey mustard and buffalo wings. Excellent! Tender, flavorful and finger lickin’ good! I also had a piece of carrot cake. This was the best commercial carrot cake I have had. Moist, not greasy, not too sweet, and heavenly. I really enjoyed the food, and I even took down the name so that possibly in the future, I could have them cater an event. Oh and the Bee was exciting and fun. And it was for such a great cause ;-)
