CBH Luggage Storage

Une consigne à bagages à NYC pour les jours de départ et où notre avion décolle tard le soir.
J’ai laissé ma valise à CBH pour une journée. CBH se situe au 6ème étage du bâtiment.
Niveau look ils étaient en travaux donc rien d’exceptionnel voire même un peu le bazars.
Pour 10 $ j’ai pu laisser ma valise pour la journée et profiter de ma dernière journée à NYC.

This is the first time I’ve written an Internet review for any business but it was such a bad experience I felt I needed to do this. I had a terrible experience using this business. I checked in bags paid a fee and then actually had them hold two bags hostage while they demanded an extra $ 20 payment from me claiming there were more bags checked than the number that THEY had written down on the claim check. They were rude in dealing with the situation. I sense there was a possibility that they would windup holding my bags including my briefcase which contain my passport and laptop!
As a further clarification, the front desk worker took count of the bags and stored them so there is not opportunity for any misrepresentation made for what bags were included. That same worker that took the count filled out the claim check with count. Further it was clear that they knew they would be creating an issue when they brought out all but two of the bags. The two that were held hostage both CONTAINED THE MOST VALUABLE ITEMS STORED — in one case a laptop and in the other a laptop and a passport. Clearly not only had they held back the bags but clearly had also inspected them for contents. This makes me more than a little uncomfortable that they were so aware of the contents of these bags.
However let’s suppose that they should be given the benefit of the doubt that it was simply a clerical mistake on the part of the front desk worker and that it was a shear coincidence on the selection of the bags being held hostage. — the level of rudeness to me and my family was beyond the acceptable. I have not had such a customer experience in years — and I grew up in NY.
This is clearly a business to be avoided. I am sure there are more reputable storage places to choose from around Grand Central.

They do not keep track of what time you dropped your bags off so make sure to inform them if you don’t intend to store for a full day. They charged me double what I thought I was going to pay. Also their restroom was «out of service» and the woman working was wasn’t particularly warm or helpful.

Une consigne à baggages à deux pas du MOMA, c’est parfait quand on veut faire le musée avant de partir à l’aéroport et en ayant rendu l’appartement.
Gros avantage: ils parlent français !
Niveau prix, c’est 10 $ par bagages.

The place is totally overpriced, stating on their website they charge $ 2 – 10 per day, but ending up demanding $ 10 for every item, even a tiny shopping bag. But when you’re in a hurry to catch a train, and already are in their office, you don’t have any other choice — and they know it.
Moreover, when I got my stuff back, after being stowed in their office the whole day, a bug crawled out of that same shopping bag.
I would never go back there again.

What can I say about CBH? The staff are incredibly rude, the service they provide is over priced, there is no redeeming quality at all to this business.
They supposedly put your luggage in secure lockers, but when we got ours back it was stacked just the way it was when we dropped it off so that was clearly a lie. And she didn’t give us a receipt even though he asked for one.
That said, if you feel like being yelled at and paying $ 30 for someone to hang onto your luggage for 2 hours, this is the place to be.
