This is absolutely my wife and I’s favorite spot in MHK!
Beautiful décor, elegant atmosphere, quiet and perfect for a romantic evening!
The waiter was very attentive and the chef was willing to change the menu to accommodate my wife’s allergies (gluten and dairy)! The chef even made a special off menu desert just for her!!! Everything tasted amazing!
Amazing experience we will definitely revisit again and again!

This was the best restaurant in Manhattan. My husband and I went. We had the chorizo stuffed dates for an appetizer– they were fabulous. The chorizo is a little spicy but with the bacon wrapped date it is the perfect combination.
Both our steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare. The crab on mine was great. The garlic mashed potatoes were excellent.
I had a blackberry mojito that was one of the best I’ve ever had. The service, the atmosphere, and food were all top notch. Just can’t say enough great things about this place. Well worth the money.

It’s the best place to go for a really special meal. We go every year for our anniversary. Excellant service! Excellant menu! Nothing better in Manhattan. Better in every way when compared to the olive place!

Harrys was so overpriced in our opinion. The atmosphere is terrific but the food just okay. We has the chorizo stuffed dates for an appetizer and they were good. My husband had cognac tenderloin and the portion was very small but he said the meat was tender. I had blackberry duck and the sauce had no depth of flavor and the duck lacked flavor as but was not overcooked. The rice that came with it was good. Our friend had scallops and they were okay she said but the flavors did not go together well with the salsa and cilantro on top and again the portion was small. We all left feeling like a snack could be in order. On our total bill there was only two simple rum and cokes. With an 18% tip our bill was $ 175 for the 3 of us. Too expensive for just okay food and even at half the price I wouldnt rush to go back. I think it may have been hyped up too much to me and therefore was tough to meet expectations.

Great place if your looking to spend a good chunk of change. Food was worth every penny though. Fantastic waitress who really knew the menu and could give advice and good description of the food. I had the steak and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. You’ll leave incredibly full and satisfied. Also, very good at being aware of my boyfriends food allergies.

I love Harry’s so much! Too many delicious things to name. If you are looking for a great date night spot in Manhattan and enjoy extremely well made foods, this is a great place to go!

I finally tried Harry’s for the first time last night, and both myself and my date were thoroughly impressed. I had always heard it was good, but thought it sounded unexciting– just an expensive place that served boring classic dishes. It is on the more expensive side for Manhattan, but is actually quite a good deal for what you get. Despite having been a prominent Manhattan restaurant for 25 years, they keep their menu interesting with current ingredients and flavor combinations. My favorite was the broiled Yukon potatoes with Manchego. I am a Manchego nutcase, and I expected a little sliver over my potatoes, but what I got was heaven. A thick layer of melty, quality Manchego with crispy edges over the most tender and flavorful potato medallions. Plus a contender for the best burger I have ever had. The dessert, a maple crème brûlée with pumpkin cake was incredible. My date loved his rack of pork as well. I would say this is one of the best restaurants I have been to in my life. It is a great, upscale environment for a nice date or business meeting. Be sure to make a reservation, even on weekdays. Manhattan professionals flock here to escape the college crowds (one of the few places in town to do so).

I came into town on business, and this place was highly recommended. Although this place is slightly pricey, the food was definitely worth it. I had the prime rib, and it was amazing! I wanted to try the meatloaf after reading a couple of other posts on this place, but they unfortunately didn’t carry it as a staple on the menu anymore. The staff told me they still occasionally carry it as a special on the menu.

We came here for our 1 year wedding anniversary dinner and we had a lovely evening. Definitely pricey but worth it! We will probably come by here again for our future anniversaries! Great atmosphere, good service, fine food and wine! (;

First visit yesterday. Had the beef tips & potatoes. Very good; a vegetable would have been nice with the dish. Very nice atmosphere, but we struggled to get our waitress’s attention despite being right next to the kitchen. Our wine wasn’t brought out until we were nearly finished with dinner. The food was good, but I expect much better service for the price point. Rating based on (lack of) service.

Really first time in Manhattan, Kansas. My dad and I were here visiting the campus, we stopped by Harry’s for dinner. We were a tad underdressed but nobody minded. The atmosphere is nice, and so are the servers. Antonio served us and he was great, we even asked him about the campus and the apartments I’m staying in. He was really helpful and was a diligent server, my drink was never empty. As for the food; my dad ordered the prime rib and it was incredible. I ordered the citrus snapper and it was savory, cooked to perfection. It was money well spent between the service and the food and a fabulous night with my father.

Service was great. Food okay, menu okay.
Given we are in Manhattan KS, I don’t expect to be paying Manhattan, NY prices.
The menu seems okay, an arrange of products. Nothing outstanding, good restaurant food choices.
Service was very attentive and good.
Food itself was okay, average, nothing imaginative, but a decent selection. Prices of said food are up there. $$$$$$$ for what you get.
If you are going to pay these $$$ go to the real Manhattan, you’ll get better for less $$$.

Professional servers, stately historic architecture, and serious food. A one-​of-​a-​kind place in this college town, or anywhere. A great place to cozy up to the bar for an intimate conversation. Extensive wine list.

My husband and I have been on many occasions. Harry’s never dissapoints. The scallops are big and fresh. My husband loves the lamb. My favorite dessert is the flourless chocolate cake. The atmosphere is very romantic. White table cloths, intimate seating, sometimes they even have candelabras. A must try in manhattan!

Contemporary fine dining in an atmosphere of bygone elegance. Great wine list. The food will make you want to slap yo mama! We started with the scrumptious crabcakes, smooth bottle of Spanish wine and moved on to the main course of fresh wild striped bass topped with a cashew purée over a basmati rice mix with a scallion sauce. …pure perfection. This place maybe in «the little apple» but it has «big apple» cuisine and atmosphere along with «little apple» hospitality. Our server, Holly, was fabulous in every way!

Hands down the best restaurant in Manhattan, and one of the best restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of dining in. The service is second to none, even in the bar area and every dish I had was better than the last. We recently stayed four nights in Manhattan and ate at Harry’s for three of them.
Beyond all of the gushing above, what impressed me the most was the willingness of the staff, especially Chef Zach to make accommodations for my wife’s extensive food allergies. Looking for a gluten free, nut free, dairy free meal that will still knock your socks off? Chef Zach can do it without blinking, unlike the 4 olives restaurant down the street who will flat refuse to serve you. My wife was able to have the best meal she has had in over a year, and not feel horrible afterwards, thanks to their great service, skill and diligence. Bravo!
I would make the drive across two states just to come back to Harry’s, so if you live close make sure you appreciate the gem of a restaurant often.
Protip: get an appetizer pizza or bruschetta and a drink in the bar area (open seating) and call it a $ 20 dinner.

Service as always was very good. Had the Red Bell Pepper & Crab Bisque, and Crab Cakes. Food was fantastic! Even though both are considered appetizers, I was stuffed. Crab cakes are plenty for a meal.
Only reason I didn’t rate five stars is because it was a great experience but I wasn’t just blown away. I feel like they delivered on what I expected.

Harry’s is a swanky spot. Billed by TripAdvisor as the #1 restaurant in Manhattan, I very much looked forward to this meal on Friday night. I was in a party of 4 with reservations, and we were seated towards the back of the restaurant. This meant walking through the historic former hotel and admiring the mismatched old furniture. At our table was a throne-​style chair and 3 more normal sized chairs. I took the throne!
I ordered a hot tea and was offered a selection of Harney & Sons, selecting the Jasmine. The tea cup was a tall, clear glass which was really nice. The special of the night was a wahoo steak. I opted for the cognac herb tenderloin tips. They were served skewered with a shiitake foie gras salsa on top of a gruyère potato au gratin in the cognac sauce. I really enjoyed my dish (and it was completely gone, trust me)! The beef was tender, the sauce was flavorful, the relish was delicious, and that potato was scrumptious too! I don’t eat a lot of potatoes these days because Eric R. dislikes them, so I liked this one and the crisp melted gruyère on top!
My dining companions all ordered seafood (the shellfish saffron stew, the trout, and the scallops) and all of them were very happy. For dessert, I enjoyed a scoop of the house-​made almond ice cream with candied orange peel. Our server Jase was outstanding. This is definitely the place to celebrate a special occasion or have a nice meal.
