Hernshead is absolutely one of my favorite places to go in Central Park! It’s a great place to relax, people watch those on the lake attempting to row a boat, have a picnic and take pictures. Hernshead is essentially a giant boulder/​rock on the lake in Central Park. Children love this place because they can run around, see ducks that frequent the area and throw rocks into the lake (if you can find any). Hernshead is directly next to Ladies Pavilion and one will often encounter weddings and wedding photography. I call Hernshead «my place» in Central Park because I love it so much!
