We had a crazy experience here! Upon arrival, we were really impressed with how nice the hotel was. Very clean and updated. We noticed some cleaning cloths were left behind in our bathroom, but we weren’t too bothered. We called the front desk, and they gave us free breakfast for our troubles. So nice! At 7am the next morning, a pipe burst under our sink and flooded the bathroom with scalding hot watee! Completely random, and the maintenance person wasn’t in yet. The poor woman from the front desk did her best to shut off the water, but it was just too hot. They offered to move us to another room ASAP. Fortunately, we were all packed up, so we just moved on out and went to breakfast. They refunded us for the night(we’d paid in points), and all was well. The staff bent over backwards to ensure a happy stay the whole time, so we weren’t even that upset by the pipe! I’d definitely stay again!

I’ve stayed at this hotel twice as a school chaperone for the Kansas State Orchestra String Fling and I’ve been very impressed both times. The staff is always very helpful and friendly and never seem overwhelmed at the large group of middle schoolers that we have with us. The rooms are always very clean and the location couldn’t be better. I mean, it’s walking distance to campus(right across the street) and Aggieville… how can you beat that? I’d recommend this hotel to anyone. Keep up the good work!

4 stars for location and overall quality. You can walk to campus and aggieville! Updated interior décor; the rooms have a spacious feel. Very clean, my bed smelled faintly of soap & bleach, which is comforting for a hotel! The bed was VERY comfortable and we both had a good rest. The windows don’t open, bummer. We could hear people next to us opening & closing their room doors. Compared to a lot of places though, the noise is AVERAGE, not bad per se. The bath towels were a little too starchy, but absorbent — again, average. The staff were kind, helpful. This place doesn’t have on demand movies, and the pool is outdoors and only open during summer/fair weather months. Overall this is a good price, a fair deal for what you get. I would stay here again. If you’re on a tight budget, there are cheaper places in town, but likely are lower quality than this hotel.

You’ll need a good reason to come to Manhattan, KS. But, then this is one of the finest hotels in the country. Beautiful room design in African colonial style. The adjacent restaurant annex bar serves nice dinner and extensive on order breakfast.

I was in town for my daughter’s sorority’s mom’s(wow — 3 possessives in a row!!!)weekend. The first night, I thought it would be fun to stay in my daughter’s room. Huge mistake. Her roommate’s boyfriend was in town(even though she knew I was coming — rude) and we took refuge in someone elses room. So, I called my husband and asked him to get me a hotel room for the next night. Hotel rooms are not cheap in Manhattan — over $ 100, which seems ridiculous for a small college town, but they have a captive audience. He got this room for about $ 80. This is an old hotel that has been updated. It is right across Anderson from the campus. I think it’s the only hotel within walking distance of the campus. The room was nice, the bed, linens and pillows were plush, there was a flat screen tv, a desk and chair — typical stuff. The bathroom is very small — about half the size of a normal hotel bathroom. I was by myself, so I didn’t care. The bathtub was definitely old, but the water pressure was fine and the shower curtain and granite counter tops were all new. I had an issue with a group on my floor congregating in the hallway all night. They woke me up at 3 am. I called the front desk and they sent up security right away. Everyone dispersed, but they were back out in the hall within an hour. I called the front desk again. So, I guess the good news is that security was responsive, but this is a college town, so good luck with getting sleep. Would I stay here again? Yes. Will I pay full price? I hope not!

Unimpressive, old hotel. They’ve tried updating it, but you can only polish a turd so much before you have to pitch it and start over. The bathrooms are extremely small. ie there’s barely room for a toothbrush and shaving kit on the bathroom counter. Moreover, it’s so small I suggest packing a screw driver to pop the hinges off and set the door to the side. Otherwise you’re banging your knee into the door, or running into it out of the shower. I wasn’t a fan of my room’s dirty linens, or the lack of towels and soap. On my first day, my room lacked a bathroom floor mat. My window shades wouldn’t completely block external light pollution, I found hanging the unneeded comforter from the window to work well. They had a widescreen newer TV, but pumped these old, grainy SD images through the screen. They had average Internet speed available on their WiFi, and I received 4GVZW signal in my room. Food and drink wise they offer a Houlihans attached to the lobby, I can’t personally vouch for it, but my co-workers liked it. They left me in the dust with laundry service. It’s due at 8am, instead of the standard 9am, and thy offered no solution when calling for pickup too late. At least be able to suggest a wash-n-fold or something. They do offer a good location close to the university, and a five-ten minute walk to the Aggieville restaurant and bar district, otherwise I’m staying at a newer property out by the mall next time.
