New Absolute Laundromat

NYC has plenty of other laundromats and dry cleaners to go to rather than put up with the aggravation I got here.
I used these guys for years. I had some issues now and then (such as overcharges), but nothing that made me resolve to take my business elsewhere. I used them nearly exclusively for wash & fold laundry service. I took my dress shirts and dry cleaning to another business which I really liked. When the dry cleaner went out of business, I started taking more business to these guys. In a typical year, my gf and I probably spend over $ 700 in laundry, shirts, and dry cleaning.
One day, I was dropping off about $ 15 worth of laundry but picking up 4 shirts ($ 6.) I tried to pay with a combination of lose change and a $ bills. The guy behind the counter said they would not take my coins — I had some pennies (no more than 15.) I was told the owner has a policy of not taking pennies. I asked him to call the owner. He would not. We got into a shouting match because it was snowing outside and I just wanted to pay for my shirts and go home. End result, if the owner does not want my money, then I will no longer give them my business. I have news for you, the customer is always right.

Four stars for pretty damn affordable dry cleaning ($ 4 for trousers what?!). Wash and dry is a bit more expensive than average, but it balances out with dry cleaning. One star reduced because delivery estimates have been off a couple times and I ended up waiting an hour (and had to call back in) when they said 10 – 15 minutes. Just let me know it’s going to be an hour and it’s no problem!

In a neighborhood with less than 5 coin laundromats this place stands out. Clean. Pleasant. Cheerful. Places to sit while your wash runs. Would have rated it 5 stars if it wasn’t for the price — $ 3.50 for a was is highway robbery; that said its on par with the other few in the neighborhood.

In my opinion, the they are penny pushers, I had a quilt I made for a client that specifally can’t be washed and I just wanted to use the dryer for 1 minute so the quilt could get rid of the wrinkles and become puffy. They told me I wasn’t allowed to use the dryer without washing it first. I told them I needed it for 1 minute and obviously I’m paying. But they still denied me.

Great service. Never had an issue with the wash and fold service. Pickup and delivery also a nice plus.

Exceptional service and very reasonably priced! I always do my laundry here and my experience has always been great. Quick turnaround time for drop-​off too. Highly recommended this place!

We used to go to this laundromat because it was quite cheap $ 4.50, but apparently owners changed and they increased the prices by 20%! Now it is $ 5.50!

First & last time coming here! I came because it was nearby the hotel I was staying at and plus the reviews were good. I dropped my clothes off at noon & was told it wouldn’t be done til after 6pm. After I got my clothes and went home to organize it I realized they lost my socks! How do you lose socks? Yes it’s just socks but it could’ve been something else expensive. I won’t be back again the next time I’m in the city.
& they lost my roomates socks too! Smh !
My roomate also called the laundromat & asked for the socks if they’ve got it there.
The guy on the phone named Richard gave her attitude on the phone when she was trying to see if they could look for our socks but he gave attitude and kept saying they don’t have it and it’s not their responsibility to check everything we have.
Poor service!

These guys are great. Nothing particularly different from any other good laundromat but we use them for pick up and delivery — they do both for free. They’re very nice and efficient, and we always get everything back nicely folded.

I’m very pleased with the service here. Some short notice laundry needs in order to get my kids out the door for sleep away and we could not do it at the hotel. Same day service pickup and delivery clothes are clean folded professionally done and well priced. I highly recommend.

Very clean, well lit and efficient. I’ve never waited for a machine and have been satisfied with both their dry cleaning and drop off service. There are several «new absolute’ in the neighborhood, this one is the best.

Typical coin laundry place. Bright, open, clean machines, reasonably priced. They also offer wash dry fold drop off. I didn’t check the prices on that but will update this if I do. They could use some more seats for while you wait on loads but not a huge deterrent. Overall a great option.

New Absolute is one of the more economical options in the area and the customer service is good. I use their wash and fold and dry cleaning services. I have ended up with articles of clothing that don’t belong to me on multiple occasions, which makes me wonder what of mine has been misplaced… I haven’t noticed anything missing yet but should probably pay closer attention.

Perfectly good place to do your laundry. Place is clean and staff are helpful.

This place would totally deserve another star (or two) if it weren’t so filthy. The floor needs to be mopped, but also RAKED… it is that bad! On any given day there is random trash everywhere. The machines are dirty and need to be wiped down and often have leftover fabric softener inside (be sure to check). I only go here out of necessity.
That said, the people who work here are CONSTANTLY working and I offer no criticism to them at all. They are nice enough and keep the place running. Last month there was a snowstorm and one of the guys was sure to shovel the front path. Considering the number of people (some who are elderly) with carts and such, this was appreciated.
There was a weird smell here for some time… I thought maybe a broken sewer pipe. It did not affect the laundry, which was a relief and would have been a total deal-​breaker. There is evidence of construction in the ceiling and the smell isn’t there, so something must have been up. I am glad they took care of this as the smell was just icky (when I thought of this place, I thought of the smell).

$ 3 per load, $ 5 for 3 load machines, $ 7 for 6 load machines. I wish I had known about the bigger machines in the back sooner.
The drying is 6 minutes for every quarter, not bad at all. The space is a little tight for all my laundry folding, but bright lights, good music, and a big screen TV.
The best part? They are open on Sundays, while every other laundromat is sleeping.
The place looks pretty clean, so no complaints there!

Dropped off 13lbs of laundry in the morning and it was washed and folded by 6:00 that evening. $ 13.00! Great job. If I lived here I would give them my laundry every week!

They have ripped the hell out of 2 laundry bags, we have found random other underwear in our laundry, I lost a brand new pair of jeans using them… Time to find a new service.

I have been coming to New Absolute since they opened. I went to their location on Lex and 29^th until they opened back up here. Up until recently, I would’ve given a full 5 stars for the place. They are usually very friendly, and attentive to my needs. If I don’t have the time, I do the drop off service, and have never had any problems with it. If I have time, I will wash my clothes myself. The machines are big, kind of pricey (but it’s Manhattan) and always in working order. I also bring my boyfriend’s shirts for dry cleaning and wash and press. This is why I have a problem.
Due to the fact that they don’t do in house dry cleaning, they ship your stuff somewhere else to do it. Never in my time living in Manhattan have I had a problem with getting my clothes dry cleaned, other than maybe rude owners/​workers that have caused me to leave.
I dropped off about 7 shirts for my boyfriend that needed to be cleaned. 4 of them can be washed and pressed. The other three have fancy snap buttons on them, and require dry cleaning. When he went to pick them up, they had the 4 ready, and said the other three would be ready by the end of the day. So he went back the next day to drop off some more shirts, and also pick up the others. They were nowhere to be found. They called their other locations, to no avail. Said to check back later. It’s been over a month, and I have gone in countless times to be met with a nasty attitude about how we must have already picked them up (even though they are still in my account). The owner was supposed to call me, and still hasn’t. I told them it wouldn’t be a big deal if these weren’t $ 60 shirts, but they should be doing SOMETHING to soften the blow of losing my things.
I still use them for wash and dry, but I have a whole stack of clothes piling up that need to be dry cleaned, and I don’t feel comfortable bringing them back.

This is the 3^rd New Absolute Laundry to open (their other location is located on Lex and 28^th) in Murray Hill. They don’t do in house dry cleaning (thus the docked star) but their wash and fold service is great and customizable. I’m picky with my clothing, cold wash and low heat everything, and they always return my clothing is great condition. I have done laundry here a few times and I have to say, it’s night and day difference when washing with a new machine. This place is clean and decently priced.
