We decided to order in for dinner from Paninoteca and are very glad that we did. The low prices for quality soups and sandwiches, as described by the menu, were quite luring. It seemed like a Hot & Crusty price-wise but a Hale & Hearty quality-wise. We ordered the italian wedding soup, the clam chowder, two cajun roast beef paninis, and a side of creamed spinach. With tax and tip, it came to $ 30…pretty decent deal. The italian wedding soup was very very good. Proportions were right, spice was very good, meatballs were well sized and numerous. The clam chowder was decent. The broth had a nice clammy flavor, but there were few clam pieces in the soup and it also lacked a sufficient amount of onion and other veggies. Anyway, not great, but not half bad. The paninis were also very very good. Meat was fresh, bacon crispy, plenty of aioli, nice bread, definitely a home run. Creamed spinach was standard and good, especially for $ 2.29. I would have given Paninoteca 5 stars, but the 2.5 star clam chowder bumped it down to 4. Regardless, a nice simple meal with a very reasonable price tag that I’d gladly repeat.
