Terrible. 1 hour 30 minutes for our food to arrive Charged us an extra beer Ran out of coleslaw! Ran out of Mac and cheese! Food was mediocre at best; nothing was comp’d. Easily one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had in 5 years.

I have been there 3 times total now. Let me first say that the food is EXCELLENT! It was okay the first time but has gotten better each time! but now… the disappointment. the first time was wonderful, great staff, manager(Callie?) and friendly ownership(Eddy). My second time I brought a date with me so she could experience the wonder place as well, the food was outstanding but the Woman owner(Unsure of name) was LOUD, unpleasant and DRUNK. She was walking around drinking HUGE margaritas, the hour to hour and half we were there she drank 2 of them, and they were very strong(BUTTASTY!) because we ordered one ourselves. The third and most likely my final time. It was today. The female owner again walked in upset and when confronted in concern by the front manager she bit her head off and even called her a B**CH in the middle of the floor… It was so unprofessional and disgusting that I will NOT return NOR recommend to anyone. I feel very sorry for the management and staff

Cox Bros. Is the best place. This one was OK but needs more smoke and taste. The raw onion in the pulled pork was not pleasant. Big chunks of raw onion is never good. If you cut them into strips and cooked them maybe.

Went here during a work trip. Had the Brisket Sandwich Dinner and 2 Sides of Mac n cheese. They gave me a siden and a half and i know this because everyone with me got one side of Mac and a 2nd side of something else. It was bland… had very little cheese. The toast was good. Boulevard Wheat was good. Maybe Im spoiled ny Chicago BBQ? Def not.

This was our first time at this new restaurant and we were very pleased! Stopped in for lunch and a pitcher of beer after a hike at the Konza prairie. Dropped $ 28 before tip and had a great lunch. My wive had a pulled pork sandwich with sausage(#4) and I had a salad with beef brisket and blue cheese and a side of ribs. Special was bud light pitchers for $ 5 so we indulges! Friendly service(cute waitress always helps!) and the owners came over and talked to us as well. They also have draft root-beer for a desert of floats(we didn’t order this extravagance) Great stop for the full KS feel! We will be back!

The atmosphere is nice with a fun theme, the staff was very pleasant, but the only bad thing and the most important thing was the food. The ribs were ok, the brisket was cold, dry and tasteless, the Mac & cheese bland, and fries cold like everything else. One thing you can count on this place for is to serve old food that was probably cooked days before. Good BBQ doesn’t need bbq sauce, and I had to load it on. I would tell you to not eat here, but there’s no way this place will be open long. Such a disappointment… 1*

We came in for their opening weekend. I wasn’t expecting a buffet that looked like we were at a family bbq. I just expected more out of a brick and mortar establishment than what i get from family reunions etc. my husband liked the ribs. I cant really say I thought any of it was to rave about. I didn’t think the ribs were that tender(we do make our own at home so maybe i have too high of standards) also i prefer ribs that have a sauce grilled on a bit it was more of a rib cooked and then the sauce was an after thought. The beans and other sides were just average like something your aunt would bring to the weekend cook out. I can say that i didn’t hate any of it! It just wasn’t something worth going out and paying for. People there were super nice but they need to do something to make the place special and a name to know. Nothing special about it. I always like to support local businesses but if you’re looking for bbq i would have to suggest famous daves instead no matter how much it pains me.

I have tried all of the BBQ Joints in MHK and I can say by far this is the best I’ve had. I stopped in for lunch and had their Brisket Sandwich special which came with 2 sides and I had the Baked Beans and Mac n Cheese. First the sandwich was great the meat was juicy and tender and came apart nicely, loved the way the sandwich all came together. The Baked Beans were great as well loved the pork pieces mixed in. However the Mac n Cheese left much to be desired, it wasn’t that warm and to be honest it was kind of bland. But the overall visit was great, it would have been 5 stars if not for the mac n cheese. They have definitely earned a return customer and I would definitely recommend them.

What a great restaurant in Manhattan! Hidden gem downtown, well worth stopping at. We were in town visiting family and decided we would try a restaurant that isn’t a chain. We were there for lunch, my husband had the special which was the brisket sandwich with 2 sides, our daughter had the brisket wrap and I had the pulled pork sandwich. Everyone agreed it was great, I especially enjoyed the onions and pickles on my sandwich, a great addition to the sandwich! Being picky here but I felt we could have been sent on our way with a «have a good day, thanks for coming» from the owners or staff, they all watched us leave, it is something I would expect from a small town restaurant. In a college town with every chain restaurant known to man this is a great addition!

Literally the worst ribs I have ever had. I actually asked the server what’s better the pork or the ribs and she suggested the ribs. I can only imagine how bad the pork must be considering the ribs. They had to be made in a crock pot. They were way over cooked, fatty, and no smoke flavor whatsoever. I honestly don’t think they actually smoke their meat. I think it’s all cooked in an oven or a crock pot. Sides were bland too. I think they also use cinnamon or something in their sauce which I am not a fan of. I can’t say that’s a bad thing because some folks may like that but not my taste. If they plan to survive they better step their game way up. I should say that I am from Georgia so maybe the BBQ is just different but this is a disgrace to say it’s BBQ.

We’ve been twice to this new restaurant and thought the food was really great. Today we had the buffet which included pulled pork, ribs, cole slaw, and cheesy potatoes. Pigins BBQ is a local family-ran business and the owners and staff are very friendly. A few things to be gracious about as this business is getting started: the buffet set-up could use lids instead of aluminum foil, the buffet price for little kids is a bit high, and the air conditioning needs to be set cooler.

Stopped by for lunch to check out something new and was disappointed with the limited menu. You are limited to only sandwiches until 4pm and kids menu consists of Mac and cheese or pulled pork slider. And there are no appetizers. They have a dinner menu that is included but you may only order from it after 4pm so ribs are not an option until then. Food may be good but we passed and settled for paying for our drinks and heading to the next BBQ place down the road.

Stopped by for dinner and ordered the combo that was split between two. The meat was delicious; my favorite was the sausage. My boyfriend’s favorite was the pulled pork. We also got the smoked mac and cheese and cheesy potatoes. I’d order the potatoes again but I’m looking forward to trying another side next time! We will be back soon!
