This is easily my favorite spot in the East Village. The Italian guy behind the counter doesn’t seem interested in selling pizza but he sure makes it good. I have had the margherita and the plain cheese. While I prefer the plain both are excellent. Super thin slices that melt in your mouth and are almost too floppy but not quite allows all of the flavor but no burnt crust. Unfortunately by the time I finished the review this place closed

It was 10ish, maybe 11ish at night. I’m not too sure. I just know I came out of a few bars, tipsy and upset about losing a football game. We strolled down the block in search of a slice and saw this place. Their chairs were already on top of the tables and someone was mopping, but the lights were on and the door was still open. We went in and must’ve ordered one of each slice that was displayed. Dude behind the counter heated them up and we gobbled them down while standing aimlessly inside the shop. The pizza was pretty good, as far as my drunken pallet could tell: flavorful sauce, good dough, but canned mushrooms, not fresh. Dude rushed us out since they were closing up. Some may perceive his tone as rude, but it was that straight-forward New Yorker tone and accent that you see on TV when Hollywood tries to portray a New Yorker(but you rarely hear in actual New Yorkers), so I thought it was cute. An «As Seen on TV» moment.

Left work early on Halloween and grabbed lunch here with my boyfriend. I have a slight social anxiety problem about walking into restaurants and not knowing if I should just sit down or wait to be seated, so it is always a plus when the servers are extra attentive when a customer walks in. The food was alright, not as happy with it as I could have been but it is mostly because I ordered the dumbest thing on the menu. I got a BBQ chicken pizza(for some reason assuming it would taste like California Pizza Kitchen or something) and it was smothered in what tasted like a bucket of KC Masterpiece BBQ Sauce. It was a huge portion and fairly cheap and my boyfriend got Chicken Parm and I didn’t hear any complaints from him. The real treat was our server who was a definite doppleganger of Chris Kattan but playing a character on SNL who works in a pizzeria — could never figure out if that was his personality or maybe a character he was playing because it was halloween(hoping it was his real personality). A family of tourists were eating when we came in and left but quickly came back with a crying child who had discovered she’d lost her backpack at the restaurant. They looked all over with the server’s help and did not find it. She left in tears and the family was sent off with genuine sadness by the staff that her backpack was still missing. They later came back to say they had found it(hooray, a happy ending) and the staff was so happy they gave them bottles of water and told her to never take her backpack off again. It was pretty heartwarming. It wasn’t the best in the world, but also wasn’t the worst. If you’re around and want a large portion of food for a fairly decent price, this is a safe bet.

Not the best pizza I’ve ever had, but it’s pretty good and cheap.

One night, a few months ago, I was driving down 2nd ave heading home and my stomach told me to park the car and get fries at Pommes Frites. My head, thankfully, interjected this notion. Putting aside the fact that I just ate a full meal plus enough dessert for 5 people, I decided it was more of a multi person activity and I ended up at Pomodoro. It’s your normal, average pizzeria. A few tables inside and in the warmer weather, seating out front. Being indecisive, I got a chicken cutlet & broccoli slice and a regular slice. I was surprised when the specialty slice came out alone but didn’t put thought into it because, hey, there were more important things like the piled on guilty pleasure slice waiting for my mouth to devour it in front of my face. By the time I was done I had to ask where the other one was. My stomach was still yelling me and it can be mean sometimes so I asked the guy behind the counter who, apparently, didn’t take note of the full order. He threw one in and said the magical words«No Charge«. A small, silly thing but most places would be complete jerks about it. For 2am it tasted really fresh, excellent sauce, ooey gooey cheese. Yum yum. It’s not somewhere to run to but for sure somewhere to stop in in passing.

I ordered from here for the first time through delivery. Esay order of a large cheese pizza, garlic knots and cokes. Service took over an hour. When the delivery guy finally arrived he took his time arriving at my door and I had to take the food of of his pizza warmer myself while he stood there. I had to take the drinks and knots inside then come back for the pizza. Meanwhile, the box was bent and the pizza was crushed. Taste of the pizza was just ok. Service was awful.

This place was great! I was visiting the city and wanted to get some pizza since I was in New York. Saw Pomodoro as I was walking by and it looked like what I was looking for. I had to wait a bit as no one was behind the counter originally to help me but they came soon enough. I had a slice of the Margherita pizza and a can of Pellegrino Limonata. The pizza was good, with slices of mozzarella, herbs, nice tomato sauce, and a crispy thin crust. Definitely recommend this place. Prices are really good too.

Their pizza is really good. Chicken parm slice is my favorite. Only complaint is over how the regular cheese slice just went from 1 to 2 dollars. I go here a lot because the chicken slice is a meal.

This is the new pizzeria that replaced half of where my beloved Dunkin’ Donuts used to be!(the other half is a deli). I’m happy to report the pizza is pretty good! I’ve tried it twice and is now my favorite in the neighborhood. The ingredients are very fresh and tasty. I also tried this spinach pie type of thing, which was also delicious. I saw they’ve also recently put in place a fountain soda machine, which will make my pizza experience there perfect. I take it to go, but I see people sitting in the little outdoor tables all the time. Their menu says We deliver! so I’ll be checking that out soon too! So I guess change is good. instead of donuts I got pizza! It’s healthier right? Right…
