The food is amazing and for a good price!!! I love this place and haven’t been in awhile but I’m glad I stopped in. You just have to know what your doing Bc it can be confusing to navigate the store. BRINGCASH and leave time for them to steam the food

So this place is primarily a fish market. The walls are lined with varieties of whole fish, which you go around and place in a basket before having it priced. The catch is(pun), there’s a counter for fried/steamed seafood and sides. Whiting, blue fish, shrimp, and«scallops»(pretty sure these were just fried fish cakes), onion rings, fries, and cookout type salads. The portions are huge! One meal could easily feed two. The quality is decent, but for the price, can you complain? Note(because it’s kind of confusing inside): you place your order on the left side of the counter. They’ll put your food in a to-go box and give you a minute to add condiments. Then they’ll snap some rubber bands around the box for you. Pay in cash.

Amazing seafood, rustic setting, dingy neighborhood. The kicker is that you pick out all the food, put it in a bowl and they steam for you. Two benches to eat in and they also season it to your taste. Cannot beat the prices.

Oh boy does this place rock!!! Very fair prices, insanely great quality and super nice people working here. Whatever you buy here you won’t go wrong with it. I even buy fresh salmon for sushi here and eat it raw. It’s that fresh! You can also buy any kind of sea food and have it either steamed or fried right in front of you. As is said before, this place is a steal!

This is my favorite seafood spot in NYC they except food stamps and will steam your food but if you want it fried you have to pay cash at a separate counter where the seafood is already prepared and seasoned. The prices are decent, the butter sauce is great! And there open six days a week till about 7:30pm. If you have never been here it’s a must visit. They’ve just added frog legs as well if you never had(FYI) get those fried.

Great steamed food! And the butter sauce is to die for! They serve pretty good food considering the location.

I have shopped at this location since 1998. The prices have gone up and the quality has gone down. When it comes to getting fried seafood to go. They are fantastic. If you want fresh fish at a reasonable price. Look elsewhere. The fish are small and look like they are past their expiration date. I am sad to write this review but feel that I do not have a choice. I will shop elsewhere for my seafood.

Who knew such a great fish market was smack in the middle of Harlem. And I rarely find myself uptown but when I finished my business in the neighborhood I needed a bite to eat before getting back on the subway and Sea & Sea beckoned me to cross the street. What a great surprise to find a place that will cook your fish to order or just cook up whatever is on their menu. The best part is it’s FRESHANDDIRTCHEAP. I order the Red Snapper sandwich that was the most expensive fish but only cost $ 5. They call it a sandwich, and that’s what I was expecting, event hough it says ‘3 pieces’. You get 3 big fillets deep-fried to crispy perfection with two slices of whole wheat bread. Load up the sauces and seasonings on the counter — tartar, ketchup, hot sauce and lemon juice just add to the deliciousness. There’s no place to sit and eat there and not sure where you could go to relax and enjoy, so I just ate it walking back to the subway. Guess I need to find a reason to go back to try scallops, or lobster or blue fish or haddock or ???

Fresh and frozen sea food. They’ll cook it on site or clean, filet and prep. Old style fish market in the heart of Harlem. Great for a quick meal or as your go to fish monger. Next door to the outdoor African marketplace.

This place doesn’t accept Credit, Debit or E.B.T cards. Cash Only. It’s just a regular fish market. The service was fast. The food? Bland. I’m foolish for expecting seasoned food. It’s worth the visit if you just want a quick bite. If you want some good fish walk up the block to Amy Ruth’s.

Much to offer. Always a bunch of people in there during lunch hours and after work… and they all have the right idea. Good deals for lunch to go, crabsticks are slammin!

This market smells like fish, but in a «We sell fish» kinda way, not a «hold your nose, the fridge has been on the fritz for weeks» kinda way. I mostly go here for live lobster, mussels and other shellfish. Their fried/steamed fish is also a hit with me, and I’ve heard other people in the neighborhood talking about how good it is.(Yes, I mean you girls who work at Ashley Stewart across the street.) This fish market is your standard uptown selection of whole fish, some fillets, a good amount of shellfish and a few well selected necessities like lemons, peppers and herbs. Seems like a lot of their business is people who fill a bowl with what they want for dinner, add some veggies and hand it over for cooking. They take credit cards and have fair prices. Great prices for the cooked stuff. I wish the floor wasn’t covered in fishy water, but instead of waiting for that, I’ll just forgo the flip flops next time I visit.

A friend of mine was visiting town and we decided to attempt bouillabaisse. A few years back, I had made a solo attempt which ended in a lackluster only ever so slightly evocative of fish broth. Anyone who has read about bouillabaisse or cooked it knows that it’s not the cheapest dish to make. It requires fish-heads for the stock, several different kinds of white fishes and shellfish.(Note that I won’t argue with purists who say that no proper bouillabaisse can be made in the U.S. because we lack the exact fish fished off the coast of France… Besides, I wouldn’t know. I never ate bouillabaisse in France, only in a few places in America’s East Coast.) More than finding the fish, I was skeptical that we would find fish-heads for the stock. Enter Skw Seafood where a plethora of fish and fish-heads are kept on ice. Along with shellfish of all kinds, from clams and mussels to crabs and lobsters. I think there might have been crayfish tails as well. And as my friend noted, you can tell it’s clean and fresh because there’s no fishy smell. They sell little bags of thyme which we also needed as well as lemons. At the back wall, I saw a row of spice mixes. Equally as important to the making of bouillabaisse is being properly fortified for the challenge. Skw sells fried seafood… for very cheap. A combo for six dollars. We also got some clam strips; I think it was $ 4. For those avoiding deep-fried food(although that wouldn’t be me), there is also a list of steamed seafood, equally cheap. Is this the best seafood(raw or cooked) that you will find in New York. No. But it is clean, well-stocked, and a great bargain… all in all, a terrific Friday fish place, whether you cook it yourself or buy it ready-fried. The bouillabaisse was a success, from fish stock to the final soup and the garlicky finish of the rouille.
