I used to live near The Pathfinder and returned to buy my new bike. I drove ~100 miles to do so. While two bike stores are within thirty minutes of my new home, I prefer The Pathfinder. I take *forever* to make a purchase and I ask a ba-zillion questions(by phone, e-mail, and in-person). At every point the staff(without exception) answered my questions and made recommendations that met with my specs and budget. «There are no stupid questions» is often said but the staff at The Pathfinder mean it. As the weather gets warmer, outdoor stores become busy places. The staff at The Pathfinder never stopped moving(no one was staring at a smart phone while customers waited). While busy, every customer was greeted and assisted in turn. I’m very pleased with my purchases and will return. When the time comes to buy camping gear, I’m passing on REI and the big-boxes and giving my business to The Pathfinder. The reasons that The Pathfinder has been around for so long are clear — service, pricing and selection.

The Pathfinder is like a local REI. Since I used to live on top of a REI store, I got used to having the comforts of great socks and bike parts at my disposal. The Pathfinder is a comforting find, as it is a multi-level store with everything active and outdoors-related. There is an entire bike section, plus tents and camping gear, kayaks, winter coats, active wear, hiking gear, long underwear, hats, camelbaks, and anything else you can imagine. The staff is friendly and helpful. The location is great, downtown between great shops and restaurants, a few paces from the mall. The Pathfinder«sponsors» bike rides on the weekends so if you cycle, you can join other cyclists.

This store is the best and has excellent customer service. I bought a bike there 4 and a half years ago, and it was recently stolen from my apartment in Denver and then found at a pawn shop. I contacted the Pathfinder for information, since I had lost my receipt, and they quickly replied with my serial number and a copy of my receipt so that I could have the evidence to get it back. Heather and Dave are great! Thank you!

The Pathfinder is a great place to get camping gear from a local trusted shop. You just can’t find awesome local shops like this anymore. If you haven’t been there yet, check it out! I’ve got family in the area and when we visit we like to hit the trails, these guys have the info and gear we need before we get off the beaten path. Had a big crash on my Marin and they were able to fix it up with no trouble at all for a reasonable price, I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area again.

I’m sorry for Trevor’s experience listed above… as a past employee, this was by far my most favorite job. The owners and employee staff are awesome and the product variety is excellent. Customer service has always been top priority. They are willing to go the extra mile to make sure you’re taken care of. I just bought my bike and car rack from them this week and had a great experience. There is a reason Pathfinder has been around for over twenty five years.

I think the folks at Pathfinder are top notch, sorry Trevor’s experience has been different. Pathfinder is a great store with super equipment, and I have always found the employees there to be responsive and friendly.

These guys have good bikes and bad attitudes. The staff is all cycling snob dorks just out of high school. «Hey wanna ride bikes?» has become the phrase of an elitist group of wish-they-were-cools. My advice is fix your own bike. These guys are jerks.
