We just got our engagement shots back from Tory and could not be more pleased.
First, I should say, that both my fiancé and I were somewhat hesitant to get engagement shots taken at all. We, of course, wanted to have a few good pictures of the two of us (rather then the blurry iphone selfies that previously filled our albums), but we thought it might just be so AWKWARD to smile at each other and pose with a photographer. But the desire for a personal save the date won over and we booked Tory. We could not be happier with the results. She made the shoot so EASY. After a few minutes, we didn’t feel awkward at all. She was fun to be around, great to talk to, and put us right at ease. She found some great backdrops and guided us through the whole process.
And the photos are amazing. She captured natural expressions, and our personalities came right through. The light, the angles, the backdrops — all fantastic. And to boot– she delivered our album within about 5 days of the shoot. We will definitely use Tory again and highly recommend her to anyone (including somewhat reluctant subjects) looking for a terrific photographer.

Tory took a family portrait in black and white for us the other day. She said it would take 30 minutes (I didn’t believe it) and it did! With a 4yr old and 1 yr old the session was perfect and best of all the pictures are wonderful keepsakes. I highly recommend Tory for quick, great family portraits!

I can’t recommend Tory highly enough! She shot our engagement photos and our wedding, and in both situations, was such a pleasure to work with — and the photos were stunning.
Tory is amazing at blending into the crowd, being completely inconspicuous and still getting tremendously beautiful, special photographs of the day. My husband and I have been to weddings where the photographers have been in guests’ way — not so with Tory (we now discuss amongst ourselves how lucky we were to have Tory every time we go to a wedding).
Most important of all, long-​term: Tory has a gift for capturing people in ways that make them look like the best version of their natural selves — not fake, not posed, not like vaguely-​recognizable strangers. My engagement and wedding photos are beautiful, and I’m so glad to have chosen Tory.

Planning a wedding from California to host in New York is no easy task. However, when you hire a vendor like Tory Williams you can be proven wrong how easy this task can be. From beginning to end, Tory has been personal, professional and a true perfectionist. She made sure prior to our event that she knew who we were, who specific people were, certain shots we wanted and most of all making my introverted (now) husband feel VERY comfortable in front of the camera. She avoided my «bad side» which I coined. I have never seen someone work so hard for 3 days straight. Our wedding was a weekend event and from the moment she arrived to the moment she left (Friday THROUGH Sunday), Tory was full of energy, able to move the crowd for pictures and capture the most authentic, genuine photos we have ever seen but also the venue has ever seen. There was no shortage of a selection to pick from, and from someone who hates how they look in photos, as an extremely particular bride, I was happy with all the photos. Tory was able to take photos of couples and everyone person at a 300 people wedding while still capturing every special moment that was happening. In the words of our guest «Your photographer was everywhere.» Tory– if you read this, thank you for shooting our wedding weekend but most of all for creating a lifetime of memories that were a glimpse in the moment. We can’t recommend you enough and anyone would be lucky to have you apart of their day the way you were one of the biggest part of ours.

Having known Tory for many years and seeing the work she’d produced, picking a photographer for our wedding was a no brainer. She photographed us for our engagement, when we went down to City Hall, and at our wedding in New Orleans. Neither myself or my husband are super comfortable in front of a camera but Tory made us both feel at ease and relaxed and we had a blast every time. At our wedding, she captured not only all the action but the love, the family, and the feeling of the night. Many of my guests mentioned how hard she was working and how great she was. Leading up to the wedding, her communication was always clear and responsive. Our on-​line photo album was incredible and quickly available. Now all I want for my anniversary is one of her gorgeous albums!!! I absolutely recommend Tory for any portraits or events.

When my husband and I got engaged in September of 2011, one of the decisions I was dreading to make was to pick a wedding photographer. The reason was because both of us work in television and I personally have worked with photography as well, so I knew our decision was going to be tough given I am pretty critical.
Tory came as a 1 of 3 recommendations by the venue we had our wedding at. Upon interviewing all three photographers, they were very pleasant and talented, but Tory just had something extra. We loved her calm demeanor and laid back feeling in a way that made us comfortable… not nervous. I also appreciated her aesthetic when looking through her portfolio… very candid and not too staged.
On March 31, 2012, we got married… and ’til this day, I am still shocked at how lucky we were to find Tory! She was exactly what we wanted on the day of! Her and her assistant were on the same page and worked very well together, but also looked like they were having fun too! I loved how Tory was able to get so many moments as well as pics of every guest… and the funny part is that I don’t even remember seeing her most of the time! We told Tory way back in the beginning that we were camera shy so that we really wanted her capture things as they happen and not stage anything. She really took that comment and captured the most candid moments of our wedding… down to our flower dog as well!
After our wedding, Tory uploaded the photos to her site so quickly. I loved how organized it was and never did I feel overwhelmed by choices. She edited them down to a manageable gallery and said that if I wanted to see alternates, she had them. She also surprised us with a photo booth video a day or two after our wedding, so it was great fun seeing our guests acting goofy in the photo booth she had set up at the reception! She picked the perfect song to go with it too and we couldn’t stop watching it over and over again! I also really appreciated the fact that she gave us all of our hi resolution files soon after so that I could make my own prints at home to send with our thank you cards. I know that that is not the norm as I’ve had many friends wait for months before getting any files.
We also had our albums created through Tory. She was incredibly patient with us throughout the year as my husband and I couldn’t find the time in our work schedules to deal with the changes. But when we did, she and her assistant got the revised layout back to us quickly and accurately. All of our albums came out beautiful and all of our friends always compliment them by saying what a great photographer we had.
So needless to say, I’ve been recommending Tory to everyone I know because she is not only a pleasure to work with, she is incredibly talented and has an amazing eye for things, but more importantly, she is such a kind person! Our wedding day turned out to be so much more than we ever imagined… and a big part of that was because Tory did such an amazing job capturing it!

Tory is the quintessential photographer for the modern classic bride. She balances the idea of photojournalism with the most beautiful aesthetic. She is a joy to have around day-​of (strikes that perfect balance) and as part of the entire wedding experience — from engagement shoot through wedding planning and even after — she thinks about the couple, the wedding — and shoots very personally. Her use of natural light is insane! Her second shooters are also tops — and she got us our photos so quickly! Out of all of our wedding vendors, when I hear of a new engagement, she is the first name I surface.

Tory is amazing to work with! She is such great person that you just want to have her come to your wedding. We did an engagement shoot with her first which was a great way to get to know her before the wedding.
I felt very comfortable having her there and my guests commented that they loved working with her. She’s not overbearing like some wedding photographers and did not try to control the day. She does an amazing job at staying in the background and capturing all the details.
I love going through my photos and am amazed to see all that she was able to capture. The photos are stunning and do an amazing job of bringing the day back to life.

Choosing Tory as our photographer was one of the best decisions my husband and I made for our wedding. She is a great person and an awesome photographer. When looking for a photographer for our wedding, I wanted someone whose photography style I loved, but also someone who I «clicked» with, afterall they will be spending the entire day with you. I knew from our first meeting that I wanted Tory as our photographer. Her portfolio was impresive (as one reviewer mentioned a perfect balance of modern and classic) and she’s so sweet and friendly. When we met for our initial meeting it was a cold day in November and she greeted me with some hot chocolate.
Tory made the entire process feel seamless, from our first meeting to when we received our album. She was always there to answer any questions I had and was probably the most responsive of all my vendors.
I love looking through the pictures of our wedding that she took; with each picture, I can re-​live our wedding day. Our album tells the complete story of the day and you really can feel the love, joy and energy captured in our pictures. She is also very stealth! My husband always comments when showing our pictures that he didn’t even notice she was there. Tory was able to blend completely into the background, and yet take these amazing pictures that my husband and I will cherish for the rest of our lives. We highly reccomend Tory!

While Tory is normally a wedding photographer, she’s recently been trying her hand at videography. My husband and I booked her for our spring 2011 wedding and it was the best choice we made!
We received our DVD’s from Tory this week and sat down last night to watch both of them. It was so amazing to re-​live the day!
The set of 2 DVDs are in custom made wooden DVD cases which are gorgeous. Tory used a picture from our first dance on the cover the of the DVD’s to add a more personal touch! :) Even the «menu» is so snazzy with moving video icons!
Everything was perfect! Neither my husband nor I have seen a wedding DVD before but I had the faint idea that it would just be a straight up recording of the day. The feature film was beautifully edited incorporating songs from the day, voice overs from those dear to us, and gorgeous details shots mixed in with footage. We know that we’re biased since it was our wedding day, but we’d like to think that we can now show this to ANYone and they would find it engaging and fun to watch! I love that Tory was able to take the whole day and create this wonderful 20 minute narrative. :)
When we watched the ceremony over again it was especially significant to me, because I got to see things that I missed out on the first time: our parents being seated, the flower girl and ring bearer walking down the aisle, and the faces of our guests! I love how Tory took so many shots of the guests during the ceremony! All the angles and editing for the ceremony made something that had a VERY huge potential to be boring, into something that I can see myself watching over and over again.
My husband’s favorite part were the speeches. The sound came through so well and you can hear every part of each speech. The whole day was such a blur that being able to sit down again and hear the words of our friends and family is precious.
Hubby and I were both so pleased with how everything turned out. Tory was a pleasure to work with! She was professional and easy-​going, putting me and my entire wedding party at ease. We barely noticed her throughout the day because she filmed so smoothly! As much as we love the photos we received from the day, these videos capture so much more.
Tory is incredibly talented and puts in extraordinary effort (I have a friend in film so I have a little bit of reference to how long editing takes). Her style is the perfect balance of modern and classic and she truly captured the essence of the whole day. She created something we’ll treasure always. :)
