USPS Park West Finance

This is not the worst post office in New York. The lines are long… Sometimes excessively long, but the staff has been polite on all my visits and the crowd in the lines have been relatively orderly and if one has to stand in line, this is not the worst

Small but fast moving.
Employees were friendly and efficient. They wasted no time with bullshitting around and I can appreciate that a lot!
Will someone pleaseee just call me up to their window and let me buy cute stamps from them already, damn it??? Yes ma’am. They sure will; they’ll do it quickly, too.
Equipped with the automated machines if you’d rather have no human interaction. They offer post office boxes for rent, as well.
AND they still have Harry Potter stamps in stock which makes my heart extra happy. #supercool

The line was long and the man at the head of it allowed me to ask the clerk one question. «Is there a flat rate box less expensive than this one?» A one word answered would have solved the riddle. Yes/​No. Instead, she told me «I don’t care if that man let you go first. You have to go to the back of the line!» That’s twenty words. I counted them. Undaunted, I asked, «Can you please tell me yes or no?» She said, «I already told you. Go back to the end of the line and then I’ll tell you.» That’s another seventeen words. The crowd mumbled their disapproval and the postal ambiance turned darker.
Geez…thirty seven words when one would have sufficed.
I should add that had the price of the box been displayed, this entire episode would never had occurred.

This is one of the better post offices. The tellers are generally polite and some are downright friendly! (Compared to other post offices this is a BIG difference) They also work pretty fast so the lines tend to move quickly.
For me to give a Post Office 4 stars it has to be really good. When I ran a internet business where I had to ship packages practically every day of the week I would have KILLED for the service I get at this office!
