Read a review in the Colorado Springs 2016 Vacation Planner magazine that prompted us to check this place out & we’re so glad we did! Hostess was lovely & our server Emma was friendly & attentive. Atmosphere was great! The chips & salsa were definitely some of the best we’ve ever had. We got the shredded beef enchiladas, pulled pork burrito & kids pork burrito & mac & cheese. We loved every bite & left satisfied! The kids loved the soda from Mexico. We highly recommend this restaurant & we will be back the next time we are in the area.

So so good. I’ve been here twice now, and have zero complaints. Today I had a Speedy Chihuahua marg and the chili rellenos! Both delicious.

I wanted to visit this restaurant as a pre-plan to go out for a birthday meal where people from north and south of Co. Springs can meet in the middle for a nice meal; I don’t like surprises after everyone travels so far. I also am always on the hunt for good fresh Mexican food. From the outside this place appears very cozy. We sat at the bar and I didn’t get that nice cozy feel from inside the place; there is a lot of black. I enjoyed the complimentary fresh salsa and chips. I got enchiladas with mole; my mole was super salty(albeit I know if I am watching sodium intake Mexican food is not the best option) and the enchilada was hard as a rock. My partner’s meal was a tasty dish; stuffed poblano, overall a well thought out dish. The service was great and locals were all addressed by name as they walked in which is kind of nice.

I ordered the queso fundido because I was not very hungry. It needed a bit of salt but was otherwise tasty albeit quite greasy. We also had the guacamole which was fresh n delicious. The burger was cooked as ordered and good. Margarita was good too. Waitress was fast friendly and did not miss a thing. They DONT accept American Express-lame.

Atmosphere is good, margaritas were good, and service was great. Food; typical Mexican food found in the rural parts of the mid west where spice is salt and maybe a little pepper. Salsa tasted like spaghetti sauce. Chicken burrito was just chicken wrapped in a tortilla with a little bit of very mild green chili. The side beans were the best part of the dinner. I have had worse but that was in Iowa.

Best margaritas in town! Great food! Fun atmosphere! Great place for date night or bringing out of town guests.

Came to this place on a recommendation of friends. This review is from a vegan point of view so from that point I would give it 2 stars, 3 for general public. Vegan options are sparse. Veggie selection for the burrito was great including snap peas, broccoli, carrots, onion and peppers but was sautéed in too much oil. Same could be said for the oily, but nice, thin tortilla chips. Salsa served was great. Their rice has lots of butter in it so vegans beware but little to no seasoning. Pinto beans were nicely seasoned so if I were to dine there again I would just order a big bowl of pintos and tortillas. Cloth napkins, typical service but the sunny patio was nice and wind sheltered somewhat. Parking could be a problem on busy days. Overall probably not a good vegan choice but for non vegans, a 3.

My husband and I stopped after visiting Pikes Peak. I ordered fish tacos because I am always a sucker for fish tacos. They were alright, nothing out of this world, but they were severed with saffron rice that was amazing! Service was a bit awkward. It was not busy but there were a lot of people on staff just sitting around. We were seated next to the weird open interior window that overlooked a broom and register. Our server was tending to all the tables and she seemed new. She never asked if we wanted more chips and salsa(which also were so fresh and delicious!) And no one pre-bussed the table. Overall, food was good but the atmosphere was off.

Excellent, excellent maragaritas. They get a lot of ingredients in season and local ingredients. House made salsa is incredible and available for purchase. Love the portobello spinach and cheese enchiladas and the poblano chile. Definately not mountain Mexican(thank God) although they have some items on the menu to please those who like that. I have tried all the Mexican places in the Springs/Manitou and this is the best! Tip: the margarita with sangria floated on top and the one with mango purée are a must try, although the house margarita is my favorite. In the summer, when they get mint from their home garden, ask them to muddle it with some cucumbers in a house margarita– you will die and go to heaven.

What a cool place. Friendly staff, owners are awesome, and the vibe of the place is great. The food I would give 4 stars for, just because a few things aren’t as good as I had hoped. However, I’ve never had a bad experience here. For those of you who may need a point of reference, this used to be the Mission Bell Inn. However, Cantina has a better vibe, they re-did most of the inside and have a sweet bar in the restaurant now, and it seems like everyone always has a smile on and is happy to be there. Highly recommend!

Service was crap — I think it took five tries to get a glass of water and three tries to get our check — but the margaritas were great.

Festive and boisterous! Great service and food, and if you go between 5 – 7 on the weekend, you’ll find fast seating and little to no wait on your food. Have tried several dishes, but my favorite remains the Chili Relleno with tomatillo Alfredo sauce. That particular sauce is flavorful and light: a must try if you’re a tomatillo fan. The saffron rice is delicious and overall — portions are perfect. The avocado burrito with pork and green chili sauce is also a tasty treat. And — best margaritas around!

Being of Mexican decent i am very picky and particular about Mexican restaurants. We read the reviews here on Unilocal and they didn’t disappoint. Chicken tacos were fantastic and they dont skimp on the chicken, I could only eat 1. Son ate the portabello, spinach enchilada and loved them. The husband ate the Navajo taco and really enjoyed all of ut. You wont be dissapointed. We highly recommend you check this place out.

This place is really good! We stopped to eat here the first day we were in the area for the Pike’s Peak marathon and it did not disappoint. First of all, it’s a cool location with nice, authentic décor. This definitely contributes to the vibe. Also, the drinks selection was very good and the prices were extremely reasonable. My husband and I decided to share a combo plate as it was lunch and we didn’t want to pig out. It was perfect and delicious. The chile relleno was one of the best I’ve ever had. I will definitely go back to this place if we are back in the area. Great place to eat!

I like to compare every place I review to the environment and not just the food/service quality as a stand alone I can’t compare two restaurants who serve the same food equally in different locations because they are in fact serving in different locations and they are serving a different demographic so a 3 star Mexican place in Montana May be a 1 star place if rated in Texas. With all of that said. This place is a 5 star restaurant in any demographic or location. Justin was our bartender and server. He was Very good at his job! He pulled out a aged tequila from the kitchen.(Avion reserva 44) because he knew I «knowed» my ethanol. The hostess was beautiful, charming and took care of business and the waitstaff behind me buzzed and worked with efficiency. Food=perfect. The red mole needs a 10% increase in sweetness or possibly they should offer a more traditional mole as a option but that’s just me. I though that sauce rocked! Everything was perfect. A extra special thanks to Justin for taking care of us vas everyone else with extreme care.

Great place to go with my wife to hang out and enjoy some good food. Our only issues is the mixed drinks are just okay. Not great by any means but a few times not worth paying for. Other than that there queso is top notch and there food is great.

Delicious:) drove in from Oklahoma on the way to Breckenridge. Staying in Manitou Springs tonight and doing some exploring tomorrow. I had the jalepeno cilantro marguerita(fresh tasting & not too hot!) Others got the«walk home marguerita» with 3 kinds(i think) of tequila! Later i had a coconut mojito(loved it & want to make these at home!) Made with coconut syrup. Our server was busy, yet attentive. Really good salsa/chips. Nice heat to the salsa which we like. Then i had the salmon w/chipolte & lime quesadillas w/cucumber fresca sauce-yum!!! Hubby had the shrimp tacos-we both loved them. One of my sons had the pork/avocado burrito which was huge & delicious. We would definitely come back!

Eat here. No question. The atmosphere is incredible, the neighborhood is delightful; the food — delectable! The ingredients are fresh, organic, as local as possible, the meet is antibiotic and hormone free and their options are abundant. Everything we ate and drank was incredibly delicious and fresh. I had a side salad with their cilantro dressing — aaaaaaahmazing! I put some of the cilantro dressing on my battered fish tacos and it was delightful! They have vegan and vegetarian and gluten free and dairy free options! They make their own margarita mix with natural juice. You will be delighted! The service was great — Marney was accommodating to all of my questions and her knowledge of the menu and restaurant was great. She was also very sweet

I’m in love. Chill atmosphere, healthy vegan friendly options, a kids menu, and a full bar. I’m so glad this was my first real meal in town. I’m coming back as much as possible. Garlic mashed potato poblano with spicy mayo. Just do it.
