The food is great the staff is friendly and nice. The Environment is nice and cozy. One of the best places to have Mexican food in Colorado. And it isn’t that expensive.

Great local Mexican food. Servings are large and you will not leave hungry. I thought the food was just the right amount of spicy but other people with us thought it was too hot.

Hidden gem in Colorado! Fabulous margarita and excellent food! You cannot beat the ambiance by the river on the patio. Our server gave great food and beverage recommendations! m. Our hotel recommended this place and I am glad we tried it!

We used to love it here… The service and patio are still fantastic. But the food is just terrible. No flavor in the meats, I had the pork and my wife had the shredded beef. Execution was nice but flavor was non-existent. The salsa wasn’t seasoned or even spicy, the queso was cold and again no flavor. Jus the worse Mexican food we’ve had. Sorry to see such a great place drop so terribly.

I love the patio and the margaritas! I had the jalapeño margarita this time and it had great flavor. Not enough heat for the husband, but perfect for me. Fajitas were very good and I love their chips and salsa. I always eat too many of them.

The food is absolutely amazing! It’s been a long time since I’ve had good Mexican food and this place did it! I will definitely be going back. Great price, great food, large portions. This is the place to go for authentic Mexican food.

Only getting two stars for outdoor seating area. The food itself isn’t good anymore. This place was sold to a corporation in town(they own Wendy’s and Golden Corral too I think). Anyway, to say it is not what it used to be is an understatement. Service is a thumbs down too. Sorry guys — you didn’t pull it off for the locals to enjoy and I’m guessing Amanda is rolling in her grave too. P. S. Clean the bathrooms.

We’ve enjoyed this restaurant so much in the past that we drove an hour and a half today to eat there again. What a horrible experience we had this time! Apparently the general manager is leaving and the owners have left the restaurant in the care of a «manager» who has no business dealing with the public, much less managing a restaurant. After waiting at the entrance for 5 minutes(not exaggerating) to be seated we finally went to the outdoor area and ran into an employee who told us to seat ourselves. Another 5 minutes at a dirty table and I finally went to find someone. I found the person who told us to seat ourselves and asked to speak to the manager. Turns out this is the manager. I told him/her(it was honestly difficult to tell) that we needed our table cleaned and that after waiting 5 minutes at the door and now 5 minutes for our table to be bussed and a food server to show up with menus, he/she ought to buy us a drink. Are you ready for this? This person(the manager) told us they were very busy and then«I’m not going to buy you anything!» Only about 20% of the tables were occupied. He/she told us to move to another table that was bussed. I explained that sitting at a table by the creek is why we came. We decided to leave and we will never go there again. End of the story: we ate at the Stagecoach Inn instead and the service and food were awesome!

Probably wouldn’t go back. Food was so-so. Not very memorable or authentic. I thought they were supposed to have good margaritas but they were bland and overpriced. I did enjoy the patio next to the creek.

From entering the restaurant I was greeted with an odd smell. I cant put my finger on it, but it reminded me a lot of the smell of a dilapidated house. Never the less, the food was o.k. Needs a lot of work. The authenticity had me doubting when I saw the word huevos spelled with a J… but after reading the history of the place I felt a little better. I’m wondering if it started going downhill after the original Amanda passed. I feel like love is missing from this place, and love of food. I ordered a stuffed chili pepper, or «chili relleno» which is the same in English really, and it tasted very off. The breading tasted really old and soggy, and I actually ended up spitting it out. Which says a lot, sadly. The other food I ordered was o. k, but does need some work. You cant go wrong with a tostada, so they did that right. The free chips served were stale. The dessert was the best part of the meal. I think the food was pretty expensive for the quality. As far as the crew, our male waiter(I think his name was Tony?) was awesome, very sweet guy who seemed to be really trying to make this place better. He was a great person and definitely belongs there. However, the girl with the green hair belonged elsewhere as she kept acting offended and cold, and in general really weird. All in all I really hope the best for this place, I know they can do so much better.

We went in on a Sunday evening for dinner, at around 5pm. The place wasn’t too busy, and we were seated creek-side, which was nice. But that’s where the pleasantry stopped. It was a strange experience, as the waitress seemed to ignore my half of the table. She did not refill our drinks, and instead, someone else had to do so. When dinner was over, she only asked one person at our table if she wanted dessert, and when I turned toward her to tell her that my husband and I wanted something as well, she had gone in the other direction, without saying a word. My son was not given a child menu, nor was a chair provided for him. I had to hunt one down myself, then wipe it down because there weren’t any other chairs around. I will not be returning to this place, as I left highly disappointed.

We arrived as part of a party of 10(3 of which were under 8 years old) to celebrate my mother in laws birthday. Upon arriving the 3 teenagers at the host stand didn’t seem to care to help and basically told us to walk around searching for our party rather than checking their list. We sat by the stream which was enjoyable and the tables were spacious enough and clean, although quite wobbly due to uneven legs. Ordered the large perfect patron margarita. It was supposed to be 18oz…($ 11.50) But it was closer to 10oz, and heavy on the syrup. I drank it and told the waitress my concern and ordered another. After 20 minutes, the drink arrived. This one one was the same with it’s less than large size and sickly syrupy taste… but had more ice to make it look fuller. I ended up paying $ 23 to get the large drink that wasn’t very good. I am a vegetarian/vegan, and my options were very limited. I ordered the«pick two» and got the spinach and mushroom enchiladas and a child relleno. I enjoyed the taste of the food, despite the soggy texture of the relleno. Again, prices didn’t match the quality I was served by our seemingly inexperienced server. Overall, I would go back. But, would only go as a casual outing with low expectations vs. a time for celebration… and I’d stick with a beer instead of trusting the bartender’s quality control.

Amanda’s has been an old favorite, but they seem to be slipping, or at least this location is. Tonight the entire staff seemed less than polished and our waitress just didn’t seem particularly concerned that dinner was sub par. I’d have given my eye teeth for someone to offer us water refills. Of three meals my husband was delighted. He got carnitas. The pork street tacos were utterly average with this paltry sprinkling of iceberg lettuce that I guess was a garnish. The mole on the enchiladas was horrifically spicy, rendering them almost inedible. My husband has never been a huge fan of Amanda’s, but he goes when I ask. I think this could be my last try. Life is too short for a mediocre dinner experience.

Amanda’s? Average We checked this place out because it was right next to our lodging(Timberline). We sat outside and really liked the seating. The waitress was pretty nice too. I’ll just cut to the chase the food quality sucked im not much of a foody but when your food arrives in 10 minutes and it looks like a second grader made it for a D– in home economics you know you can do better. My «GIANTBURRITIO«was very bland and pequino. My girlfriend got enchiladas and was a few fork loads of chicken folded in a Food services of America tortilla. It’s too bad because the staff was pretty nice. I think if I had to give them a sign out front it would say«You can do better », maybe i just hit them on an off night.

Horrible food, horrible service. The ceviche tasted like a can of tuna with a dab of ketchup on top. The taquitos had so much chicken fat in them, I gagged. The best thing about the place was Suzette and her margaritas. Will NEVEREVER go again. I’d rather eat taco bell. It’s really THATBAD

Cute little place. Our waitress didn’t seem too thrilled about her job. Food was excellent. & huge! The sampler platter can feed a small army & the Mexican pizza was awesome.
