Well… It was fine. I was visiting friends for a birthday dinner. They live in St Peter and really like this place. The truth is, there are not a lot of options down there. I might like it more, too, if it was one of very few choices! I will say the service staff took very good care of us. My friend’s husband had pre ordered some appetizers(fried pickles, homemade tortilla chips, sweet potato fries) and wine, so it was all brought out the moment we arrived. The accompanying sauces were REALLYGOOD! The apps were… average. For dinner I had the Big Kid’s Grilled Cheese. Again just ok. I mean, how do you mess up a grilled cheese? But it was still very ho-hum. All in all, it’s not my first choice, but it wouldn’t be the worst place to go back to. I guess I’d go again… if I had to.

This place was disappointing. I had the black bean burger because it was one of very few vegetarian options. It was definitely underwhelming. The atmosphere was also uncomfortable because it was so dead and quiet in there, it felt like the entire staff could hear our conversation. Not a fan.

I’ve eaten in here once, and gotten takeout and desserts a few other times after that. The food is very good. I love their smoked meats — the brisket burnt ends and the pulled pork are amazing. There are not a lot of legitimate barbeque options in Mankato. But the housemade barbeque sauce is not that great — too sweet and tomato-y. Would be nice to see another smokier or spicier option. The spice level on the mac and cheese was surprising and really enjoyable, though I wish it was cheesier overall. Get a dessert. The pumpkin bars are great. The caramel bars are ridiculously good. Everything always tastes really fresh and homemade. Overall, I give it five stars out of optimism. If they fix up their weird décor and tweaked their menu in a little more refined direction, I’d be back often. They’re a newer business and I think they have great potential. If you can get past a slightly strange atmosphere, you’re in for a really enjoyable meal.

Do NOT order the fish tacos! First of all, it came on a flour tortilla and not a corn tortilla! The fish was very fishy and had absolutely no flavor! $ 13 for no sides is ridiculous, for this bland squishy/soggy fish taco is outrageous! The fish was frozen, can’t believe they called It «Mahi Mahi fish.» I’m giving them 2 stars, because the ruben was good, but not stand out. I could get a better one at Perkins! Never ever again, it’s a overpriced Perkins, but Perkins has flavors and this place doesn’t. It’s So fishy tasting and smelling my cat is all over it…

I enjoyed the food. The atmosphere was nice and the food was priced fair. The bloody mary was very spicy and not worth 6.50 and it took a while to get our check when there wasn’t that many customers but otherwise it was good! I will come back again.

Great bloody marys and nicce atmosphere. The pancakes were good but the Heart Attack breakfast was easy to forget. Pricing was fair and the staff was very pleasant. I will definitely return.

I’ve only went here for breakfast but I really enjoy the breakfast! They have classic breakfast dishes and that’s what I look for in breakfast. I like simple classics. The sausage is delicious! You can tell its homemade! The food is good, the atmosphere is relaxed and the staff are all friendly and nice. This is nice place to get a yummy breakfast!

The environment here was wonderful. My boyfriend and I were looking for a fun place for date night with happy hour and a great dinner menu also. We found all of this at Eatery Tap. The appetizers were delicious and very reasonably priced. Service was absolutely fabulous, from the hostess to the server. Even the owner came over to check in with us and chat about the homemade menu and bakery items. Definitely recommend this place if you are in the Mankato area!

At about an hour away from the Twin Cities, The Eatery Tap in Mankato, MN serves up a killer Bloody Mary made with their own mix and garnished with a pickle, olives, lime and topped with a friggin grilled cheese sandwich! Also, of course it comes with the midwest beer chaser! The rest of the menu is pretty rad too, come hungry and tell them Bloody America sent you!

I suppose it’s got potential, but I’m not holding my breath. The highlight was the service; our server was friendly and fairly attentive, but that’s it. The menu looked appetizing, but the prices seemed a little high. The fried cauliflower appetizer wasn’t seasoned at all and came with a boring nacho cheese sauce you’d expect to get at a ball game. The lettuce in the Caesar salad… wow, and not a good wow. Not sure the person making it has ever encountered lettuce before. It looked like it was hacked up with all the care you’d expect a McDonald’s worker to give. There was one large piece of actual green leaf, while the rest was what I normally put in the composter. Why would you put a giant chunk of lettuce core in a salad? The meatball sandwich started out okay, even though it was smaller than a Subway 6″ at almost twice the price. But when there’s only three meatballs and one of them is burnt, then even all the mozzarella can’t cover that up. If they want to charge those prices, they’re really going to have to improve on their quality. Sadly for them, I won’t be back to see if they do.

The food was good. I’d give it four stars. I really enjoyed the crab cakes. Not chintzy on the crab, and not overly breaded. My husband’s Reuben was tender and flavorful. However, the restaurant experience relies on much more than food. Hence my two stars. The décor looked like a North-woods grandma’s garage sale. Waaaay too many tacky knick-knacks thrown on the walls in an effort to fill up space(Just because the bar and walls are knotty pine doesn’t mean you have to decorate cabin-style). I truly felt anxious with all the clutter and harsh lighting. I know this sounds mean, but I really hope they read this review and take it to heart. The food is good, but if I can’t relax while I’m there I won’t go back. Spend a little bit to invest in dimmer switches and an interior designer and I’ll re-evaluate my review.

According to my husband: «the best Reuben he’s ever had»! Food is fresh and tasty, pub classics with a twist(e.g., grilled cheese garnish on Bloody Mary, beer-soaked corned beef). We’ll definitely be back!

New restaurant opened I think in October 2014, had my first dining experience there last night. Here’s my review! Parking: is a snap in thier own lot, no trouble. This place is located in the old Godfather’s pizza building btw Atmosphere: I would say a bit odd. You walk into a large room with the bakery in front, an antique wood cook stove at the entrance and knotty pine on the walls. There is a large back room and LOTS of seating. We were there for an evening meal, the place was oddly bright for evening dining which took away from the atmosphere. Its like they are trying to be country but its odd. Friendly, bright but not high on the atmosphere meter. We sat at the bar and the staff are super friendly. Food: Started with crab cakes — oh man! Best I’ve had in my life served with lemon aoli sauce, simply amazing. Large chunks of crab, nicely seasoned and cooked on the grill. Such a pleasure to have them not breaded and deep fried — truly spectacular. I had the walleye — huge filet, breaded with panko and again cooked on the grill. Very light, fresh, tasty and not the least bit greasy. A winner for sure. My husband had steak and shrimp. The steak was cooked perfectly to order but he said his shrimp was lacking in flavor, needed more seasoning. Service: No complaints. Our waitress was attentive, friendly and we have no complaints here. Oveall highly recommend but I’m hoping for some improvement in atmosphere but we will definately be back!
