Worst food ever! I had the nachos… cold! Very few toppings, just a pile of chips & nothing had been heated up. Cheese was not warm, meat was cold,…ICK! Service was very slow, although the place was virtually empty. The waiter who served us was no where to be found when we took the tab to the bar, so some random guy took it (hope he worked there). Never going back. Beer was cold, as it should be.

If I could do no stars I would! Sign on the door says open 11−2am daily but that’s clearly wrong as its noon on Monday and the place is closed. Yesterday the service and food were some of the worst we’ve had. I only returned to check on a possibility forgotten item.

Gorgeous patio. Best in Mankato. Gyros are amazing and Mojitos are top notch. Acoustic music shows are fantastic.

Moonshiner has a ways to go before people make an effort to go here for drinks.
The patio is STUNNING. Seriously, very well designed and honestly it’s kind of romantic in a way. They have the best patio available and I give them props for that. If more people went here it would be so much fun. However, the bartenders have work to do before they become a respectable drinking location. I’ve heard numerous complaints of a bartender not accepting out-​of-​state IDs, which is baffling to me. Do you have a vendetta against people who aren’t from Minnesota or what? One of my buddies said the bartender would only allow him to drink there once before he needed a new form of identification for having a Wisconsin driver’s license. Seriously dude? I’m going to take that has growing pains but that complaint needs to be remedied, as Mankato hosts many people not only from out of Minnesota, but out of the country as well.
Food is okay, great gyros. Prices are way too high though for the quality of service you get though. I don’t see this place becoming a staple for college students or younger people anytime soon.

What a great place! We came here because the pizza place next door was closed and we saw a sign for gyros and beer. Being Greek food lovers and definite suckers for a good beer we walked in. An hour later I’m a happy customer with a full belly. Having Spencer as a bartender was like being entertained by Seth Rogan. He was kind and took great care of us. My husband had a gyro and I had the gyro salad. We got a ½ order of nachos with chicken (instead of beef) which hit the spot. A decent draft selection (though it was a little heavy on the light beers and IPAs) and clean spot. The prices were very reasonable for the amount and quality of food we got. I changed my baby in the bathroom which didn’t have a changing table (which I wouldn’t expect given it’s a nighttime bar) but there was plenty of room and it was clean. Overall a great experience and I’m glad we went in.
