Pagliai’s Pizza

Very good pizza in downtown Mankato! They messed up our order and we ended up with an extra pizza — great for leftovers! Our favorite was the 4 cheese pizza.
Not much for ambiance in this place, but the pizza is great and they have nice bathrooms here too. They also have some good Mankato Brewery beers on tap like Organ Grinder. Our server was great too.

Best pizza in Mankato. This time, we didn’t even eat it there, we took it home and heated it up the next day– still rocked!!!

First time there & it was just okay. I came in after their rush so this place was quite the mess which is fine with me. Waited 10 minutes to get a menu. Another 10 to order drinks. Then finally got to order my food. The wait for my food took about 30 minutes after I ordered, and at this point, there was only 4 tables. (maybe there was a lot of carry out-I’m not sure). I just kept thinking to myself that the wait will be worth it because the food is going to be bomb. I got my philly poorboy first, and I thought it was good. Super cheesy which I like. Then pizza came 10 minutes later. I ordered the cheeseburger because I love cheese & bacon. Pizza was just okay. Crust underneath was burnt, beef was burnt/​way over cooked. Thought maybe the cheese/​bacon would mask it all, but it didn’t. Servers were really inattentive. I had to pause my eating to wait for a drink refill since I was so thirty. Server walked past my empty cup 4 times before I called for her. (I keep my cup towards the end of the table so that it’s easy to see.) I’m a server too, but I thought she would have noticed by now. There was 2 servers, and 5 tables. A couple walked in, sat at a table, and waited for their menus from when I started eating to when I almost finished (I’m a slow eater.) After we finished eating, we waited another 15 minutes before the server noticed we were done eating. I even had all of the dishes nicely stacked for her. Overall experience with inattentive servers when it’s not busy, a good philly sandwich, and an uninspired looking pizza, I just give this place an okay. Will be coming back for another try since I like to give full support to local businesses. (Side note: I don’t know how it is in MN, but in MI, restaurants can’t serve customers at a table with stained ceiling tiles above it.)

I grew up with this pizza and was happy to see, 15 years later, that they still make the same great pizza! Homemade sauce and dough. Tons of tasty cheese that yields a little squeak when chewed. No doubt this is the best pizza in Mankato but I’d also rank it as the best example of «Midwest» style pizza anywhere. Delicious!

Pizza was really good. They have some nice combinations. My favorite is sweet and hot. Unlike most places they have plenty of staff. They are very busy for a very good product and good service.

How do you go in depth when reviewing pizza? It’s such a simple food, but you just know when you’ve had great pizza or not. Pagliai’s is great pizza. The crust is crunchy, and pizza oozing with tons delicious cheesiness and toppings. No skimping on ingredients here, this pizza is topped with a mountain of cheese and toppings, leading every bite to be a perfect orchestra of flavors. Pagliai’s is top notch, incredible pizza.

Best pizza in Mankato. A bit different than traditional pizza with big chunks of veggies and meat. Lots of cheese, excellent sauce. Our go-​to pizza place for delivery at work.

Either thick crust or thin crust you can’t go wrong. The sauce is probably my favorite part. The cheese is amazing and don’t worry, they give you plenty! It’s a really neat layout because the ovens are in the front corner of the restaurant. If you go you won’t regret it, great pizza and a great atmosphere.

Classic pizza a lot like I had when I was a kid from a local Mom-​n-​Pop shop from my hometown. We were in town to visit my daughter in college and after reading reviews of local pizza places decided to try Pagliai. The pizza was very good and make sure you try the cheese bread too. It was cheese heaven. The place was very, very busy and was a flashback to the 70’s or earlier, nothing fancy, just good food.

A wonderful hometown kind of restaurant! Go for lunch, they have an amazing special and you will leave very full!

I don’t know much about Midwest pizza, but this was just bad compared to real pizza in the northeast.

The pizza is great! I drive thirty miles just to eat here! Never disappointing and always great! A must for pizza lovers no matter what nothing compares anywhere around!

Cheese. Hello cheese. This place took me right back to my childhood when pizza was about cheese first, second, and last. Don’t get me wrong, I love my crusts and toppings (good choices here too) but sometimes you just want the cheese that is so gooey your first slice will basically be lifted to the ceiling before it breaks free from the rest of the pie. You know what I’m talking about.
Pagliai’s might make sick or fat if I lived nearby, but I don’t so this cheese topped wonderment might be the best thing I ate last week and I will remember it fondly for years to come. Good job.

This pizza is hands down the best in Mankato! $ 2.75 taps only make the experience that much better.

Great pizza, was a super busy weekend so our service was a little slow. I would have liked the crust a touch more cooked and perhaps a little more meat. The server was nice throughout and we left happy. When in town, this is a place to hit!

Hope the pizza is great. Hoping it will just be warm. Told 45 minutes for delivery closer to two hours. Order taker did not know what was in the salad and I had to rind him to take my cc number. Called at 75 minutes looking for it asked how long for delivering. I informed them I had been waiting 75 once I was passed to the third person. Who said they have been slammed all night. Just be honest when people order Hope it shows up before I fall asleep. Poor service and communication

Classic pizza was the perfect combination. This is the best pizza in Mankato hands down! Nostalgic place that is crazy busy during the holidays.

Interesting selections. First time I had a taco pizza, which tasted just like taco, but with pizza dough, like. Their «words» pizza was ok, one of the sausage on the pizza taste nasty, but with it out the picture, it’s decent. Tasty is 3 star, but price is crazy good.

Best pizza in Mankato. Very cheesy. Old style pizzeria atmosphere. Lunch special for $ 6 is a great value, as is the Thursday/​Sunday pizza & beer special. Don’t miss this place when you’re in Mankato!

Mmmmmm! Found this place in 2007 by complete accident and fell in love with it. Now, every time we visit Mankato, we ALWAYS stop at Pagliai’s for their awesome pizza. We are never disappointed. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town. I have to say this is some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. I know it’s the best in Mankato, might even be some of the best pizza in Minnesota!
Love the ambiance, nice ‘pizza joint’ you can sit at, eat a great meal and have a beer but family oriented too! They play great classic rock and the décor is slightly outdated, but really, you’re not here to look at the walls! Lol! My husband is from the East Coast and he says its some of the best pizza he’s ever had. Nuff said. :)
