Great hospitality and tasty food! I really enjoyed my omelet that I picked. Lots of flavor! I would definitely recommend checking this Café out!

We have been to 290 Café a few times for lunch and it has always been very good! They have an amazing hamburger, great sweet potato fries and good selection for the kids. I will say that we were disappointed in their pies — for a place that really talks up their deserts, I was less than impressed. We had a large group so we all ordered a different slice to try everything. I cannot say that anything really stood out as great. However, the food, as I mentioned, was really exceptional. The service has always been good as well — huge plus for a small town. I always enjoy taking my family here.

Fairly good food and service. The only con is no breakfast after 11. For a small town diner that has to be a must.

An old school, small town Texas roadside jewel. I have been a satisfied customer for several decades. Thanks to Natalie and the crew for providing such an inviting dining experience. Oh yeah, try the cheesy chicken! Southern comfort food bliss! Recommend!!!

I have been coming here for years. This is the first time I have been very dissatisfied and I can only assume it is because of the new management. There were 3 of us and all of the food was cold. In addition, I remember coming here getting great French toast and the bacon was long thick and crispy. Now Everything was half the size it used to be. The bacon was what you would get on a burger at a fast food restaurant. I told them to take my plate back but my friends decided to overlook it although they were not happy to eat cold food. We were all surprised to find that no adjustments were made on the check. Last time they messed up the order, the acting manager adjusted the bill. Natalie the waitress kept apologizing so I thought she would do something. Oh, she did offer us a free piece of pie on our next visit. Yippee!

Amazing service! Delicious food with huge portions! Don’t know how 1 person can eat it all themselves! Hubby and I shared the chicken fried steak and it was more than enough for both of us. Kids shared a burger. Pies are huge! Only con– coed bathrooms. Not my thing. :(

Until the last two visits to Café 290 I was a huge fan. We were regulars. Now, if I ever go back it will be a while. Last week when I went, I ordered a burrito without onions. When my food came out, there was onions in the first bite.(I’m allergic) So I asked the waitress to have it remade, and to put the one that was not right in a to-go box. That we would still pay for it. The waitress goes and asks the chef for a new one, and to put the other one in a to-go box. The chef argued with her where we could hear about how that one didn’t have onions. The manager didn’t seem to care. So, finally after everyone else at my table was done eating, my food finally came out. Today when we went all of our food was either cold, or barely warm. I’m not sure why that was. We didn’t send it back because of the last incident. When we sat down we had asked for teas with easy/light ice. Our waitress seemed to have forgotten and put extra ice.

I recently moved to manor so I may trying the local places first. My brother and I have been there twice and I want there once with my gf for breakfast. Lunch was good not great. I got the chicken fried chicken which was good. Brother got a burger which was good as well. Breakfast was okay not very good. I got eggs, sausage, hash browns and pancakes with chocolate chips. Eggs were okay sausages was burnt on one side, hash which I ask for crispy was really greasy and not crispy. Pancakes were great. My Gf got French toast eggs hash browns and bacon. She said everything was good besides the bacon. So 3 stars for now I might change it after a few more tries since it’s so close.

Looks can be deceiving, you in and all eyes on you. What comes next is a friendly voice saying«sit where you guys want to». Alright let’s get to the food, I have to say i’m a very picky eater however the queso was one of my favorite since i’ve been in Texas and when in doubt try the 290 Cubano. The pork shoulder with the ham oh my, you actually can taste the pork, ham, and pickles that gives you an awesome experience in your. I highly recommend this place!!! Thanks Jack and staff for making the experience amazing!

You owe it to yourself to stop in here for great food at a great price. I recommend«The Burger» with crispy sweet potato fries and my husband recommends the«290 Cuba» sandwich with onion rings. The food is delicious and we’re so happy to have this amazing restaurant so close to home(we’re Briarcreek residents). The service was excellent and the owner Jack made us feel so welcome! Also the food was plated with style and the flavors of the food was on POINT, five-stars definitely.

Awesome pancakes! I had a breakfast combo, and my egg and grits were also very good. This is my new favorite place to eat on Manor. Went in for breakfast on a Sunday, were seated within five minute despite the busy crowd. Our waitress, Natalie, was wonderful and friendly. My boyfriend is on Atkins and could have most of the breakfast sides, but they made substitutions for him. I plan to come back each time I visit family in Manor.

Glad to find a decent breakfast spot in Manor, as the stars denote this place was«A-OK». We came by for breakfast around 11am on a Sunday. It was crowded, but not over crowded, and we were seated right away. I had pancakes and asked for plain scrambled eggs also($ 1/egg) and the bf had the traditional breakfast as well as a bowl of granola. My pancakes were okay, but they tasted like they were made from a boxed mix(not scratch), my eggs were better. The bf enjoyed his eggs and ham, and raved about his granola which he said was the highlight. He stopped eating the grits after one bite, and said the biscuit was just ‘okay’. I tried the biscuit and will concur, not bad, just a bit heavy. Overall, I’d probably come here again, A-ok indeed.

Good place for a country style breakfast, and apparently the Mexican food is good too. It looked good for sure and a lot of people were ordering it before noon. I like that this place has a history. Service was excellent, and friendly.

Darn good home cookin’ and excellent traditional American breakfast this morning. Good coffee and excellent wait staff. Going East easy to get to. Going West on 290 make a U-turn at the next light.

Under new ownership; hope this creates better management. Food is for the most part good; however service can be either way. The managers need to learn how to manage; engage with the guest. It’s the customer that pays the salaries not the owner; the owner just handles the money and writes the checks.

My new place for weekend breakfasts! Came in for a quick bite before the start of a road-trip and boy, were we pleasantly surprised. We were warmly greeted by our hostess and before our bums even hit the booth he asked if we would like fresh coffee. Yes please! When the coffee came, it was hot and strong. My husband ordered the Café 290 breakfast which included 2 eggs, your choice of meat, potatoes or grits and french toast or biscuits. He chose ham, potatoes and french toast. Smart man! I went with the biscuits and sausage gravy. Everything was served in abundance and tasted fresh. The eggs were real and the biscuits were warm like they’d just left the oven. My husband’s french toast was fluffy and had the perfect amount of sweet, but not too sweet. He’s still talking about that french toast. Bazingaaaaa! All for about $ 16 bucks, we came, we left and we will be back again next Saturday.
