This felt like a Chicago spot in a small town. It’s in the middle of a meat market and corner store. Awesome. The food was awesome and the portions were huge! I still have dinner for tonight. I got a huge coke, egg rolls, pepper steak and fried rice for under $ 12. My little girl loved it too. I’ll definitely be back again. Plus on top of the food the staff was totally friendly and on point! New favorite spot in manor!

Definitely odd to see an Asian restaurant in a mostly Mexican market, BUT definitely do NOT be fooled; the food? Especially the phở… amazing… so surprisingly good that I did not want to share it with other people on Unilocal due to slight selfishness. The phở’s broth looks so fresh(I have never seen broth that tasteful and clear in the Austin-area… I know what good phở tastes and looks like). The phở broth is so flavor-ful that you KNOW they cook the broth daily. I love this place. I appreciate the intimacy of this restaurant. Also, the place has a home-like feel to it: Asian mom yelling across the store to her husband in a Mexican market they seem have ownership over; it’s not your everyday scene. Pretty cultural and I like this mix. This place is outside the Austin-area to say but… «Keep Austin Weird!» Support the small businesses!

If you are in the Manor area looking for a meal and decide the newly opened Panda Express is an option, you are wrong. If you’ve heard about La Fogata and still opt for Panda Express, I think you’re an idiot. La Fogata is a classic example of never judging by the location. Away from 290 by a mere mile, tucked inside a Mexican meat market, you’d probably think it wise to pass this place by. If you do, you’ve made a huge mistake. This little place is a gem. Food cooked to perfection, excellent menu variety, service second to none BUT, the food, OMG the food! I’ve never had oriental food prepared with such perfection. We’ve tried several different dishes and nothing has disappointed us yet. La Fogata really is the only place for oriental food around.

Found this little gem on the way out of Austin! Mom and I were starving and Unilocaled Vietnamese food and this convenient store/café popped up. The hot and sour soup was amazing! The special Phở was pretty good(surprising for conv store) and the beef and broccoli that mom ordered was decent. Super nice people, good food, fast service, small home town… Viets representing!

Surprisingly great! It is tucked away on the East end of a small convenience store with a butcher shop in the back. The couple(?) that runs it is very friendly every time we visit, and the food is really, really good! I have not tried their vermicelli bowls, but I bet that they are great. I love the hot and sour soup, and the egg rolls are great. My kids will not stop eating the sweet and sour chicken!

The only thing lacking here is ambiance. We are seated at one of six tables between the grocery aisles and the produce/dairy cooler at this meat market in downtown Manor. But we have been here three times since we saw that it was open, and we will keep coming back. So far we haven’t tried the Mexican food on the menu, but we’ve had the sesame beef, Kung Pao beef, beef with vegetables, sesame chicken, honey chicken and phở. All were delicious and very filling. See the photos. The fried meats were crispy, beef was tender, sauces were perfectly seasoned. The sauce on sesame chicken today is flecked with minced ginger. Hot-and-sour and egg drop with corn soups were hearty, the egg rolls were well filled and crunchy, and the crab Rangoon were also well filled and practically flaky. The hot tea here is just plain black tea, but if you want a soda, you get a whole bottle plus glass of ice. We’ve tried them all, and this is the best Chinese food in the area!

Decided to try this out for lunch and was actually impressed with the flavor of the Phở. I ordered the Phở with brisket and round steak. The round steak wasn’t too great and brisket was a bit thicker than normal and just a little tough. The sides were typical, besides serving with basil, it was served with mint. I actually enjoyed that! The noodles were stuck together, but nothing that my fork and spoon didn’t handle nicely. I liked it! I got my Phở fix right here in Manor and I’m curious to know what other items on the menu taste like. Will try again! BTW, I only gave this 3 stars because I’m comparing it to Phở King :)

Service was helpful and nice. food was authentic. Prices were reasonable. They have lunch specials, which is what we ordered. Sesame chicken was good, not as fried as most, which I liked. Next time I want to try their Phở. They also have some Mexican options as well.
