Ambience: B+ Cleanliness: A Customer Service: A Food: B+ Overall Rating: A– Price –Its a bit pricy and the portions are smaller than what one would usually expect at a place like this. Of course it is located in Manorville and everything is overpriced here. Atmosphere –Its nice, its not amazingly classy or uniquely decorated but it is comfortable. Customer Service –I’ve only been here twice and both times were relatively slow. With that said, they had two people working to take our orders, fill our drinks and bread baskets. We never had to wait more than a few minutes for something we needed and that was really nice. Food –The food was good. It wasn’t great but there was certainly nothing to complain about. I wills say I’ve had better Italian for a much better price but it still hit the spot. Overall –Pretty good place if you are in Manorville and need a bite to eat.

I am giving it 2 stars only because the blue cheese dressing on the wedge salad was spectacular We went on an adventure to Manorville to eat dinner and get out of the house. We have a few selections there but decided to try Papa Josephs The dining area was empty at 8:30pm except one table but the bar was full. The place is nicely decorated and we were told we could sit anywhere. As I looked at the menu, I thought it was very daring. It had a lot of complicated dishes that would require a chef with some skill. I ordered the wedge salad for $ 12 It had a wedge of iceberg lettuce, couple of cherry tomatoes, red onion and 2 slices of bacon. That is a high price for what I got, considering we are in the woods. The dressing was out of this world. It was as good as a steakhouse blue cheese dressing. But the price was too high for the minimal ingredients. I ordered the zuppa di clams for dinner. I gave my order for white sauce and the waiter came back to clarified that I ordered white sauce. You guessed it. I got red sauce which I would have eaten except I really did not like the flavor. I tasted before sending it back to be fair. The clams with the white sauce had a lot of parsley in it. It was more like parsley soup and large chunks of garlic. My husband ordered the lamb ragu over gnocchi. When it came out I could smell that it was very gamey. When I tasted it, it was awful. I have rarely seen my husband not eat a meal. He hardly ate any. Lamb can be tricky to make On the positive side as my husband said, when you have bad food, you don’t have to worry about overeating

Good food, but the service was absolutely terrible for dining in. Waiter was nice but absolutely clueless. Nobody in the place, but the service took forever even just to get drinks. Not good when you have a 2 and 5 year old with you. It’s a shame because we live literally one minute away. The food is good enough despite being expensive for Italian. I got the carbonara and it was cooked fresh. My wife got the penne and she claims hers wasn’t fresh. Unfortunately, this experience dining in sours any future visits.

Italian done right! This is a local gem. This place was vacant for a long time and I am so happy we live so close by because the new place is AMAZING. There are two different areas; both casual-a pizzeria style café and a restaurant. The hostess seated us quickly and was very sweet. The bus girl immediately filled our waters and welcomed us. The menu covered all of the dishes you would expect but it wasn’t overwhelming. Nice specials too.(Check in on Unilocal for a free glass of wine: the Montepulciano was a win!) We ordered the baked little neck clams-they were SO fresh and the breading was super crispy, also it was the whole clam(I don’t like when they are chopped up) …it was served in a light sauce and the sauce was so tasty with fresh herbs. Next up: the star… the burrata… hello lover! The burrata was served with lightly baked tomatoes, asparagus and fresh basil and was simple and truly incredible. It tasted like something you would eat in Italy. The final appetizer: the wedge salad. It was the perfect crunch — bacon was perfectly cooked and the blue cheese was good. I thought there was a little too much onion but it was easy to just pick off. Now… the entrees! I got the fettuccini carbonara and I sincerely was smitten. It wasn’t this heavy cream sauce that will kill your stomach but rather a delicate cream sauce prepared with thought and care and it was accompanied by thinly sliced meat and fresh peas. The waitress brought a fresh dish of icy cold Parmesan which was the perfect compliment. My husband ordered the chicken Marsala which the waitress recommended. It was the perfect textures — fresh mushrooms and just the right level of sweetness. He also got the angel hair pasta in marinara-which came with it-who knew that angel hair pasta could be so light and delicate and flavorful. What a major surprise! The bill came and I love it when you’re happy to pay-and we were. Great easy casual ambiance was refreshing too. We will be back!

Took over 10ins just to get seated and it was not busy at all. Orders 4 salads and a cheese pizza. Wedge salads were good not great. Pizza was mediocre at best. Worst part is for such a simple order it took forever. Waited probably 40 mins for the first food to come out.

We went to Papa Joseph’s yesterday’s after a funeral at Calverton Cemetery. They only had one waitress for a table of 16. We tried ordering bottles of wine off the wine list and every bottle we asked for was unavailable. The waitress said they hadn’t updated the wine list in a year. They had the house wines and the other bottles of wine available were ridiculously expensive. It took a long time for the food to come out and the food and service was mediocre at best. After a meal that took 3 hours we finally got the check. No where on the menu does it state the policy of gratuity for a large party. Their policy we discovered was 20% and that is on the entire bill INCLUDING the tax and liquor! We called the manager the following day to air our feelings about this policy to no avail. They were not accommodating what so ever. I want everyone to know about this undisclosed policy before eating here

Went there on a Tuesday around 6pm. Stood at take out counter for 15 minutes. Was ignored by staff and NEVER acknowledged. Pizza maker asked if there were new orders to cashier. I said I was waiting to order. Got no response and was ignored by him too. I left when someone else walked in and placed a order while I was still waiting to be acknowledged. As I was starting my car to leave without placing a order; cashier ran out to ask me my order. Really? I literally drove 4 miles to Luigi’s in Eastport. Won’t go back unless somebody offers my a slice.

I am only giving this restaurant 1 star as there is no option for 0 stars. Always looking for a new spot to try, me and my teens thought we’d pop in for a good lunch. Well, unless you like flies and filth, this is not the place to try. We were greeted by dozens of flies *(even in the filthy restroom) and the restaurant had negative atmosphere upon entering. I would have been ok about the flies, dirty silverware, mediocre food, but the worst part was the bugs INSIDE the vinegar bottle. Although waiting for our food, watching the bugs did keep my kids busy instead of being on their phones. Needless to say, we will not be returning. Oh, and my son said that he didn’t know that caesar salad has fish on it — it was chicken but tasted like fish…

We live 3 min from this place and ive lived in manorville for 12 years now. Always frequented michaelangelos. Boy do i miss that place! Well we’ve given papa joes three chances now and this is the last straw. We’ve gone in to sit down and eat and its always a task to be seated. Like they dont need the business. Lets see how they fare in the winter without the citiots. Tried to get a pizza delivered and it took over an hour and a half. It was ice cold like it came out of the fridge and the knots as well. I guess i’ll be driving into eastport from now on ’cause I’m done trying to make this work with patronizing my local establishments. Its really shameful. Btw Michaelangelos in Eastport(absolutely no relation) is amazing. Worth the 7 minute drive!!!

First of all they want $ 9 for a glass of wine which is ridiculous. I then get silverware and plates that are completely dirty. The food probably would have been good if it wasn’t cold. There was no one in the place yet my waitress was nowhere to be found half the time. Bad service and way too expensive Go to Roadhouse Pizza in Riverhead… way better

I was very excited to try the food here, and I fear, let down. The portions were small, the food undercooked, and I honestly felt like the food was frozen and reheated. The marinara on the meatballs in the meatball and pasta was not fresh tasting, and the meatballs were raw and red in the center. When the food was sent back, I was told, that’s just how they are, and they come like that. The fact that they«come like that» also tells me they are not made in house, or are frozen. I wouldn’t come here again, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else either. I’m very disappointed as I was very excited to try the food here, and went in with a positive and open mind

Excellent! Stopped for the first time on August 22, 2015 and was pleasantly surprised. My son and I really enjoyed the pizza, the atmosphere, and the staff! The place was very nice and very clean. It was so nice to be offered a side of sauce for my pepperoni wheel AFTER I paid. I am so tired of getting charged for a side order of sauce! We will definitely be back. We were very happy and highly recommend! PS — Their sauce is very sweet. Just the way I like it! A+!

I had the chicken parm, which was delicious. The waiter messed up my wife’s order and brought Francese instead of Milanese. We were good sports about it and she kept the Francese. One of the cutlets was pretty tough to chew. In all, a clean place with good italian cooking. We’ll be back.

Food was excellent. Service was excellent. It’s an easy on/off of 495. Great for traveling to/from the Hamptons. Tomato sauce was excellent! Steak sandwich was GREAT! Best my husband has ever had. Both pasta dishes were al dente(perfectly cooked). Portions are ample. My very hungry family of 5(2 adults and 3 kids) ordered a sandwich, a soup, and 3 entrees to share, and asked for ½ to go. Great family atmosphere, and obvious pride in the food they serve. Looking forward to stopping on our next trip.

Stopped here for dinner tonight on our way back from the North Fork/Shelter Island after finding it on Google from I-495. Walked in with crazy beach hair and attire and with the white tablecloths wondered if we were too underdressed. All of the staff was so friendly, attentive and welcoming though, I soon realized we had definitely come to the best place in town. Wow! This place is awesome. The portions are huge, the food is farm-fresh, and everything looked so beautiful! First they brought out excellent bruschetta and a few slices of salami for the table — complimentary. For a starter, our group of six had the buffalo mozzarella with heirloom tomato, fresh basil and asparagus. Heavenly! My husband, friend and I shared the tasty primavera pizza(had lots of delicious veggies) and the chicken parmesan accompanied by wonderful angel food pasta. My mom and aunt both had salads they loved, and my friend had the veal special which was incredible. I have never seen such a huge, beautiful veal steak. It was accompanied by potatoes and veggies, and the veal steak was topped with fresh mozzarella and roasted bell peppers. The accompanying bread on the table was also delicious. Everyone brought home leftovers. Everything was so great and fresh. Top-notch quality. Such a gem! If you are in the area — definitely go here. Oh! We all drank water, except for my aunt. She ordered chianti. She said it was excellent. Plus — the pour was extremely generous! Also, the restroom was immaculate!

From the moment we walked into the door we were impressed with this place. Coming from the outlets we stopped because of the Unilocal reviews & we are so glad we did! The manager(maybe owner) was so pleasant! The server was knowledgable on all the menu items and we got complimentary brushetta and champagne(someone had just graduated)! EVERY item we got was amazing from the 3 appetizers, salad, 5 entrees &3 deserts. The portions were huge! If you’re passing by definitely go there you won’t be disappointed.

You have to try this place!!! Been there a few times now and wanted to test several dishes before throwing down my Unilocal review. They have an excellent assortment of specialty slices and rolls. but more than pizza they make amazing entrees… I had the«Eggplant Parmesan», that was really good. Eggplant was sliced thin and crispy, not like those really thick slimy slices. Before the eggplant, I started out with fried calamari that was tender and cooked to perfection and a bowl of Pasta Fagioili soup that tasted better than my Aunt’s from Brooklyn. Atmosphere was very nice, and service was excellent. If passing by for lunch and in the mood for a delicious fresh panini, go for the«Americano» it’s grilled chicken with Avocado, lettuce and tomato smothered in a home made chipotle sauce. Absolutely ridiculous!!! Its good to know that some restaurants understand quality and use the best ingredients. Unlike many other places that cut back to save money, Papa Joseph’s uses fresh ingredients that cost more, but realize giving customers only the best will have them coming back. This is a great business model that will keep them busy for many years.
