Went here for the Sunday brunch buffet. 5 stars for the food, 1 star for the ambiance. The food was absolutely fantastic. Great selection of fruits, pastries, omelette-making station, pastas, meats, seafood, bacon/sausage, French toast, cheeses, chocolate fondue fountain, and other desserts. The chefs preparing the made-to-order omelets were very congenial and made the experience nice for those in our party who chose eggs. The food was beautifully presented in the high-ceilinged, bright and sunny room. There was ample room to move about to get our food even if there were many people in there at the same time. The dining room was another story. There was loud pop/dance music playing and the room was dark. This was a Sunday morning. I would expect some light music, perhaps classical or soft jazz. Certainly not loud dance music. I would also expect for a Sunday morning to have the window shades drawn to let in the morning light. The ambiance was set for a Saturday evening; it was almost like they forgot to make the switch to the next morning. It made for an uncomfortable, unpleasant atmosphere while trying to enjoy the exquisite food. I’m not sure if we will be back unless we know that the atmosphere for Sunday mornings has changed.

My heart is so full right now… We had reservations for the Thanksgiving buffet and I was feeling terribly nauseous when it was time to go. But I didn’t want to ruin it! So my fiancé, sons and I went, checked in and sat down. I couldn’t eat. I tried but by this point I was ill. I would never ask for anything to go from a buffet but I told my waiter I was feeling very sick and could I possibly bring a meal to eat later when I felt better. I didn’t catch his name but now I wish I had… He asked his manager and she said yes, and he asked me what I would like. I just told him a couple of things. Fast forward a couple of hours and I open the bag– and I’m blown away! This man packed me the most beautiful Thanksgiving feast. I was famished so I forgot to take a picture but I did take one of the desserts. He made my whole day. I was pretty sad to feel so sick but this made it all better. If someone could please pass this message on to the gentleman who made my plate, I am so thankful. Thank you so much.

We went back & there was an odd person working the bar, male with bad nail polish? lottery machine obsessed. We like to people watch and this was over the top…

Very disappointing. My salmon was bland and sitting atop spinach which was in a bed of juice and beans not exactly what the menu described. My husbands eggplant rolatini was like cardboard stuffed with cheese. Even the desserts were disappointing. The blueberry pie crust was not flaky and the cheesecake was also not very good. Never coming back

This is a mixed review for sure. We made reservations for the Valentine’s Day pre fixe, through . When we arrived, they acted like they had a hard time finding our reservation and when we told them it was through opentable, they told us they don’t use that anymore. That’s strange because if you go to desmond’s official website, the online reservations redirect you to opentable. Luckily, they acted like they were able to find a table for us(even though the restaurant was mostly empty, at this point-we were there for a 4:45 reservation on a blizzard-y day). Our server was good-he had a lot of tables and kept them all well attended. For the first course, I got roasted tomato soup which was stellar, however, and very sadly, the included crustini was burnt-charred black. I just skipped that and ate from the bread basket and was very pleased. My husband’s fried ravioli was fine, crispy and not greasy, but a little less flavorful than the soup. For second course, my hubby got the bucatini valentino, which was a shrimp pasta with brandy cream sauce. He greatly enjoyed it. My Gorgonzola crusted strip steak was the highlight of our meal. He was jealous that he hadn’t gotten it as well! Steak was cooked to perfection with an amazingly delicious balsamic glaze. Yum! For dessert, we could have each gotten big slices of cheesecake with a chocolate covered strawberry on top. I’m very bitter that we didn’t order that choice, because I chose for us and we got chocolate fondue for 2. I really thought we’d get a little showstopper, some kind of cute fondue pot with a beautiful assortment around it, especially since this one dessert was taking the place of both of our third courses and it was Valentine’s day, after all! We got the same white plate we used for our bread plate with a tiny ramekin of melted chocolate and, I am not kidding when I say, two small slices of banana, two strawberries, two regular marshmallows, and two tiny heart cookies arranged unartfully around it. What a letdown. Certainly not a spectacular dessert you would expect at a romantic Vday dinner and absolutely not equivalent to two courses at $ 39.95 per person pre fixe, whatsoever. But it still tasted good, however sad and pitiful it looked. When the bill arrived $ 39.95 per person for two, plus 2 coffees, and 1 coke(drinks were all $ 2 a piece) translated to a $ 110 bill. Upon further examination, a 20% gratuity had already been added to the check. That felt a little insulting, and we had actually been planning on tipping a bit more, but after we saw that, we just paid the check amount and headed out. It seems strange to add gratuity to a check for only two people-parties of 6, yes– but two? So double check your check if it seems high at pay time. Overall, the steak was so good, we weren’t too sad, but we will absolutely be saving any special occasions for a different restaurant in the future!

I spent last Sunday having a little fun-day of local wine tasting avec ma soeur. What better way to sober up than go for a bite at the Italian Bistro Bar at the Inn at East Wind? We dined on warm bread, parmigiano, gorgonzola, and manchego cheeses paired with crostini and pear, and devoured a bianco pizza– a mouthwatering combination of romano, ricotta, roasted garlic, and fresh mozzarella atop a delicious crust. The outdoor patio was quaint and surrounded by beautifully blooming flowers. Despite it’s secret garden like ambience, I’m sure this place will become a frequented gem that lives up to the East Wind reputation.

We went there for lunch, big group of people, about 19 members of my family. I had the skirt steak with roasted potatoes and vegetables plus a slice of cake for dessert. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. The wait staff refilled my cup, asked me how my meal was, refilled my coffee, etc. All they offered with the coffee was 2% milk and my steak was medium, not medium rare.

The entrance leads you into the bar area which is dated, and in my mind doesn’t make you want to stay long. The back opens up into a huge restaurant. It is connected to a hotel, so expect to have events(most likely weddings) going on around you. Speaking of events and weddings, the food they serve here is equal to banquet food. It doesn’t seem like the kitchen puts much thought or care into each dish. They are just pumping food out. Given the size of the restaurant coupled with all the events they host… I get it. However, that doesn’t make me want to come back. We were there celebrating a family member’s 50th birthday. There was about 20 of us so we had a fixed menu. The stuffed clams and fried calamari that came out were average at best, and the seafood risotto was very mushy. At the least the seafood was decent and the crab real, not imitation. I think the highlight of the night was the pork chop. Bone-in, prepared nicely. Grilled, very simply. They didn’t mess with it, except for this warm apple sauce drizzled on top that honestly had the mushy consistency of baby food. That can be scraped off to the side though… unfortunately for my wife, there is no way to avoid mushy risotto. The service we received throughout the meal was fine. I mean, the wait staff seemed to be pretty young, and were probably doing this as a side job while in school. I can appreciate that having worked my way through school, so I will give them a pass if everything about the service wasn’t «perfect.» They were all working hard, polite and friendly. I must say though, I doubt I would come back.

I went here as a special birthday weekend getaway with my boyfriend and we visited here twice at 2 different times. Here’s my breakdown: Our first visit was for dinner and we made reservations for 8:30PM on a Saturday. The place was PACKED! The readily provide you a basket of a variety of breads and a side pasta dish to snack on. I ordered the house salad with a yummy house dressing, mussels in white wine sauce for an appetizer, a peppercorn crusted filet for the main course, and a slice of blueberry pie for dessert. They were very understanding and accommodating for one of my food allergies and the waitress was great from start to end. The food was reasonable priced, but extraordinarily prepared. We both loved the food we got, loved the ambiance, and had a great time. We then returned Sunday around 10AM for brunch which was absolutely spectacular! It was buffet style, but nothing like you would see at one of those chain buffets. Each tray of food was not only aesthetically pleasing, but everything was so fresh and flavorful. You had a nice mix of typical breakfast foods, lunch, meats, cheeses, sides, desserts, fruit. etc. We went back for like 3 plates haha. Overall, we had a great back-to-back experience at Desmond’s and we definitely plan on eating there again when we return to East Wind.

The food was terrible, completely bland and whatever sauce they used was watered down. This was the first time in years I added salt to my meal. Do yourself a favor and find a diner nearby, you’ll thank me

Desmonds’ brunch has definitely gone downhill since I last visited in 2011. We only got there at Noon — typical time for brunch — and the food looked like it was out since 7am. Cold, soggy and not presentable. Service not accommodating at all. Will not be back.

The host is pompous and the service is rude. Came on time for our reservation, waited 5 minutes patiently only to have him come and say«give me a minute» when we gave our names. He started walking around aimlessly pretending like a was looking for something as he walked by about 6 – 7 empty tables. 5 minutes later came and seated the people right behind us. When he finally returned after another 5 minute wait and I asked why they were seated before us he said«Because they had a group of 12, if you want to come back with a group of 12 you would get seated.» You’d think they were paying us to eat there instead of the other way around. Needless to say, we didn’t stick around very long. That’s 15 minutes of my life I’ll never get back.

It is so unfortunate that this restaurant is in the East Wind Inn. The Inn and Spa are both fantastic. The restaurant service on the other hand is absolutely rude! We had a reservation for this morning and waited for 5 minutes for someone to even greet us at the hostess station. When the guy finally came over, he asked us our name and said ‘give me a minute’ and walks away. So unfriendly, no smile, no explanation, nothing. Ok. Meanwhile we see several(understatement) empty tables and people are starting to line up behind us. Then he comes back, doesn’t say anything to us, and asks the people behind us for their name and seats them immediately. Again no acknowledgment of us standing there, no apology, no explanation… nothing. Then he comes back and when we ask what is going on he gave us a nasty response of ‘what can I help you with’. REALLY? Ten minutes after our reservation time, with empty tables, and puzzled looks on our faces and you are giving us an attitude? Needless to say we immediately left and had brunch down the road. I will never return to this restaurant.

DOGFOOD ! I’ll never go back to this place again. The tomato sauce came right out of a can, they didn’t even splurge for Rague. I had eggpant rollitini, total garbage, heavy and without taste, my wife had a pasta dish with sausage again that was sweet and little taste. I can’t believe how horrible the food was, the worst restaurant that I’ve been to in years. The restaurant is in the East Wind resort so we thought it would be good, what a surprise. Stay away.
