Amazing pot roast meal. The mashed potatoes are amazing and all of the stuff that comes with the meal is delicious. Highly recommend this place. You can eat in or take it to go. We do both and are never disappointed.

Three of my family members, and myself, visited yesterday afternoon. Two of us had been here before, but it had been a few years ago. It is a little confusing initially as to what you are exactly supposed to do, or where you are should order. There are a large variety of items to choose from — both sides and main dishes. Nearly all items are «Cracker Barrel» type offerings. Presentation is very lacking as all of the available items are in small storage containers in what I think was a heated unit, but I’m not sure. My wife saw them heating food up in a microwave which is a huge no-​no for me. When I visited years ago I’m fairly certain that this was more of a hot cafeteria style line. Trust me when I say that the way they are storing the food and getting it out of bins is really missing the mark in the presentation department.
Those in our party opted for meatloaf, roasted chicken, and a roast beef sandwich for main dishes. Sides were mashed potatoes and gravy, mac and cheese, and green beans. Meat Loaf was great, roast beef sandwich good but a little dry, roasted chicken was lukewarm with kind of an old mushy texture and not much flavor. I imagine that when the chicken was fresh it was probably great. We also had cornbread which was room temp. and would probably be great served hot. The sides were exceptionally good. The potatoes were from scratch and the gravy was very unique with a slight green pepper flavor. The mac and cheese was one of the best I’ve ever had, and most in our party thought the green beans were very good as well.
The owner was very nice and the back dining area is very clean, well lit, and is just a very nice room to dine in. Due to how the food is stored it takes quite a while to get meals for four people. I received my food first, but I was the one paying so I had to wait for everyone else to get served. I would say it took about 10 minutes for all four of us to get our food. Standing with a plate of food for ten minutes is kind of annoying. My wife and son started eating their meals in line while waiting to be rung up. It’s just a very inefficient way to serve food. Some of the food is VERY good. I just think that storing and serving it in a different manner could make all the difference in the world. Bill was $ 38 for four «full» size meals as they call it. This consists of a large portion of meat and two sides for about $ 9 I believe. A light meal also has two sides and about half of the meat of the full meal. I would definitely give this place another try — it’s so close to be something really special.

This is a great archetypical country restaurant. You walk in and might not know you’re in a restaurant. It’s cafeteria style toward the back of the store. As the other reviewer said, portions are large. The food is always very good. There’s good seating in the back and someone will come around and ask if you want refills. It’s a bit hard to find… several miles north of Mansfield on Route 13, north of the airport. But it’s worth the effort.
