Food good. Bathrooms horrible, makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like.

As somebody who has been coming to ton’s for about 4 – 5 years, it’s hard to stay objective, but I will try. Ton’s Mongolian Grill is great, as long as you know how to make your own dish that is. For some it might be hit or miss because of the multitude of options you can pick from in their«self select» menu, but if you gave it at least three chances, surely there’s something for everybody. The employees are kind and certainly do their job well. The stir-fry chefs can cook up to about 5(from what I counted at the time) meals at a time, and maintain their composure very well when having an audience watching them cook. The restaurant itself is fairly clean, with lots of Asian paraphernalia in the front, with more breathing space in the back, so you could bring a party of 2 or 10, it really doesn’t matter. The traffic inside the restaurant is moderate, producing nothing above a slight break in «indoor voice» volume levels. All in all, it’s great for family meals, but if you want to go on a date, read him/her carefully because Ton’s is either the best or the worst place in the world to take somebody who’s never been.

The food quality is great, however the staff is very cold, making the experience almost awkward. The atmosphere here is dull and the restrooms aren’t very pleasant. Despite the steep price, it’s still worth eating here on occasion.

I love Mongolian Grill. The worst part about this place was the waitress. Very surly.

This was my first time at Ton’s and I didn’t really know what to expect. The food was good, but I thought it was a bit expensive for what it was. The service is great and they have ice cream!

You go to tons for the value not the service. They have changed the price on «to go» items almost every time I have been there. They said it’s based on how much is on the plate… which they measure by looking at it. So basically, they can charge you however much they want to take your food to go. I’ve had the same waitress every time and she is stone cold. I’ve even let the manager know that she makes me not want to come back every time and he acts like he doesn’t care.

Soo yummy! Only my second time to a Tons, but first to this location. They were very good with my 19 month old whom was cranky. This was my husbands first time. He is not normally a fan of oriental food, but seemed to enjoy this. We will come again!

Ton’s is a special place to me, and not just because of the good food, the courteous service, and unique setting; after all the lunch dates I’ve had here with friends and family, this place still hasn’t gotten old. The food is plentiful(all you can eat) and fried up on a massive ceramic grill by two masters of their art. The service you receive at Ton’s is consistently good, and you can’t help leaving this place feeling full and satisfied. Other Mongolian restaurants like Genghis Grill just don’t compare; Ton’s all the way!

My wife and I eat here about once a month. We normally are with a large group of friends and this place handles the large group pretty well. The food is your basic Mongolian style selection with a few added meats. I really enjoy the lamb, but it is not always available. The price is good and the food is good. You will need to know what you like as far as a sauce to cook your food with, as you’ll be mixing up your own combo.

Watch your bill, they charge you extra and say you got too much seafood. Its all you can eat. This was the second time they did this and we’ve been going there for years but not any more.

Poppie and I decided to give this place a try after reading some of the reviews. Since we were into venturing out of our comfort zone of the norm, Olive Garden, Applebees, Chilis etc. Pulling up to the place on a mid-afternoon there were very few cars parked out front and I immediately became with-drawn. With a big exhale I went in and we were greated with«how many??, and immediately directed to a table which was easily found due to the small amount of patrons. I told Poppie to hold on until I checked out the buffet. WTH! I have never seen such a lame setup for a buffet. It smelled and looked horrible. We gathered our hungry appetites and rushed out the door. If this was what a Mongolian buffet was supposed to look like, I hope to never((strike that))…I will never go to another one.

I’m a big fan of Mongolian grills. When I visit my sister up north there’s usually a lunch trip to Genghis Grill since we all really like it. Ton’s was my cousin’s husbands Mongolian grill of choice and I always like trying something local and new. This location has a large dining room and when you’re seated, you walk right by all of the ingredients. It’s all you can eat, which I really liked because you can try several combinations instead of trying to pile everything into one bowl and hoping it doesn’t cook down to much and have to pay for seconds. There were a lot of choices, which meant getting to the end of the buffet line without overflowing the 2 bowls you get to fill was no easy feat. Besides the usual beef, chicken and shrimp, they also had lamb and crab. The only carb was a tray of udon noodles but I’m told you can ask for rice. There were multitudes of vegetables and at least 10 different sauces. I would have liked to see more options as far as seasonings go but the montreal steak seasoning and a little garlic salt worked out fine. Everything gets taken to the large circular grill and is steamed with a little water throughout the cooking process. I asked for egg and watched as the cooks prepared the rest of my meal. My food wasn’t drowned in water as someone else mentioned. When the food was done cooked it was placed on a large plate and handed back to me. My combination of beef, udon noodles, bell pepper, mushroom, broccoli, tomato and egg looked and smelled really good. The taste test proved that I know how to put together a good plate. We also ordered a side of fried rice which was really good. Everyone at the table was satisfied except for the 4 year old who complained that his noodles and meat were mixed together and requested(not very nicely) that my cousin separate them. To top it all off, the meal comes with soft serve vanilla ice cream and some Hershey’s syrup on top. Dinner and dessert for 4 came out to just under $ 40 including tip. I think each of our meal was around $ 8.50 and the kids plate was about $ 5. Next time I’m visiting my family in Arlington/Mansfield I will be looking forward to a trip to Ton’s.

Ton’s Mongolian grill on Debby Lane in Mansfield was a very pleasant surprise. The food was excellent, the service, while not exactly fluent in English, was extremely professional, courteous and thorough. Those of you who are unfamiliar with a Mongolian Barbecue, patrons choose from a large variety of meats, vegetables, spices and sauces mixing and matching to taste. Then the cooks pour your mixture out on to a huge flat wok and begin the cooking process. Water is added in small amounts which immediately turns to steam on the hot wok. Therein the food is cooked, not only by contact with the flat wok but steamed as well. Thus, if your food is excellent, well you made it yourself, didn’t you? If your food is bad, you have no one to blame but yourself. Meat choices range from beef to chicken, shrimp, faux crab, fish, sausage and surprise number one which was an outstanding quality of lamb, all of which was very fresh. Probably 20 different vegetables rounded out the choices, which included really HOT jalapeño peppers and an excellent Chinese noodles tray which had to be replenished twice while we were there. Surprise number two was the number of different sauces adventurous diners could experiment with including a tasty hot pepper sauce with enough Scoville Units to remove paint. Surprise number three was the taste of the finished product which reminded us of probably the oldest and best Mongolian Barbecue, Genghis Khan’s on Greenville Ave. in Dallas in the 1970’s. For aficionados of Mongolian Barbecue, we highly recommend Ton’s.

I had very high expectations for this place because I was going with a group of 10 awesome people, most of whom had already sung Ton’s praises to me. But experiencing it was, sadly, different. Basically, I give them props for having fresh ingredients, decent prices on an all-you-can-eat buffet and for including fish, which was delicious. But I don’t go to a «grill» looking to eat soggy, parboiled, waterlogged mush. Perhaps if the cooks were more interested in paying attention than being done in 30 seconds, it would be good, but it’s decidedly not. I don’t see the point of letting the customer carefully blend the sauce if the grill cooks are just going to turn around and wash everything off by drowning the food in a gallon of water. It was flavorless, mushy, and pretty much gross, with the exception of the fish(because it soaked up the soy sauce before it could be rinsed off). Also, the staff is completely inattentive, though not exactly rude. We lost track of time and stayed there a few minutes after closing(I was pretty ashamed afterwards when I found out… I hate doing that to people), and the staff was fairly rude to us. I would probably not even give this place 2 stars if I had not gone with the large group of people from Stevens and if we had not sung birthday songs to the party of 18 total strangers on the other side of the room! That was fun. But this food sucks.
