Villa Italiana

Still five stars. This is our second visit.
I opted for the special of lasagna, ravioli and manicotti. First off the salad was very fresh and crisp, house Italian dressing was spot on. Additionally the bread rolls were very fresh and hot. I asked for oil and vinegar for the bread, and as previously reviewed, a small bowl of both was quickly delivered for me to custom mix… love it.
The meal was amazing, all the ricotta, mozzarella and marinara sauce were seasoned perfectly, heated well and the cheese was dripping oh so tastefully from every piece that I ate.
My wife had the shrimp alfredo. Even though my meal was delightful… my mouth was watering even more from the smell wafting from her order. The portion size was absolutely spot on and again, we finished all with no need for a take out box.
While we sat and enjoyed our meal, we heard the people at the next table ordering a Sicilian pizza to go. We figured it would be a great thing to try that. We ordered the sausage Sicilian to go, and it was done just as we were ready to pay and leave.
I spent many years in my youth preparing all types of italian dishes, a large portion of those included pizza. This pizza is HANDS DOWN the best Sicilian pizza I have EVER eaten. It was huge, very cost effective and fed me, my wife and our growing son for about 2 ½ days.
I really hope and pray that Al can keep this place open, it seems like its in an out-​of-​the-​way location. Again, a true jewel in Mansfiled.

I don’t know if the pizza that’s under the oven is what they give people, but it’s always there. No covering, no fly screen, just a cheese pizza out in the open. The customer service isn’t bad but its not great. When you order a soda, they literally go open a bottle of and pour it in your cup over ice… Not great, but good in an Italian pinch.
