For my sons 15th birthday he wanted Italian for his birthday dinner! We decided to go to Strings in Manteca! I have to to say They had great service and great food! We all had the lasagna pastry and stuffed mushrooms! The owner Wally was very welcoming and he made sure we were all taken care of! We will definitely be back! Great for a romantic dinner or family time! Thank you Wally!

This restaurant is for people who: 1. Have never had Italian food in their life. 2. Have no standard whatsoever by which to gauge good Italian food. (See #1) 3. Have had their tastebuds and/or sinuses damaged/destroyed by a tragic disease/illness/accident. I am Siciliano and know whereof I speak! Capesce?

I ordered the baked lasagna with meatballs. It was more like soup then lasagna and Bell peppers I don’t get. Ordered a new meal got the tortellini and requested there were no green peppers. Well green peppers in it anyways. girlfriends food was good she had the eggplant. great Alfredo sauce but I won’t be returning

Used to live in the area and this was a go to place for us. Now 10 years later still just as good. Had the«Zoodles» zucchini noodles with a great sauce of tomatoes, onion, artichoke hearts, olives and capers. Generous portions, couldn’t eat it all! Fabulous service; greeted, seated and served promptly. Only complaint is that the restroom is well overdue for a thorough cleaning. I am phobic about public restrooms and this one was fed my phobia.

I have to definitely give this place a thumbs down. We have given it three more tries to redeem themselves and last week was the last draw. The food was dry and over cooked. Also I specifically said no sausage on an order and they put sausage. This not the first time that they did that too. First time was great and the other times just horrible. Second time we picked up the order, they gave us the wrong order and skimmed out on the pasta sauce and by the time we got home to call it was to late for they closed. Third time food was over cooked and it just seems like they can’t get things right. Who over cooks shrimp???

Went here for dinner with a friend and I had never eaten there before. I love Italian food so I figured it would be good and it was. The food and the service was great. I ordered the Cioppino Alla Strings which is shrimp, mussels, and scallops in a seafood broth. I was not sure about the broth so I asked if I could sample it and the waitress obliged and I tried it and it was good but not great. They had a vodka cream sauce which sounded much better and I asked if I could have the sauce instead and that was no problem. It was a great choice because my meal was excellent. Their salad is very good as well. The use a Italian dressing they make themselves and it is very good. The service was fast and the waitress checked on us alot and was very attentive. The prices were not crazy and that is always a plus. I think I will be eating here more often. There are other dishes on the menu that I want to try. I recommend giving it try if you want a nice Italian meal.

NASTY! I had the short ribs and sausage with spaghetti and the rib meat tasted horrible and gamey. My wife’s chicken dish was almost as bad, at leased she ate it. Her green beans were not eatable. The only good thing was the salad and service. I know why this place has no one in here. Do not wast your money eat at Taco Bell

Went in on 1−23−15; we were greeted by a very friendly waitress who showed us to our table. The restaurant is cute inside. I ordered the chicken Alfredo which came with bread and minestrone soup & my boyfriend got the calzone with salad. Soup was flavorful. Salad was, well a salad so good. The chicken Alfredo was very creamy they don’t try to skimp on the sauce. They give plenty. My boyfriend enjoyed his calzone. Overall good experience. Nice waitress, decent food. I was hoping to find a replacement Olive Garden but this was not it. Don’t come in here expecting Olive Garden type food which is how I came in lol. 4 stars because all though it wasn’t terrible I wasn’t in love either. I doubt I’d come back and eat here again. Not because of anything else except for the fact it’s not exactly what I’m looking for.

So I went to strings tonight with my childhood best friend. We first sat down and greeted with a bright friendly hello and welcome by BRIGHT&AWESOMEBECCA!!! She was awesome!!! She suggested our meals and we loved it the artichoke dip for appetizer is a must!!! $ 7.00 what a steal!!! Then her meal was better than mine but I steal liked the fettuccine but I think I would go for the chicken parm… First time I had been there and it’s really close to me I am going back!

We thought we’d take my parents there for my dad’s 91st birthday dinner and we’re so glad we did! My mom said she hadn’t heard positive reviews but we like the one in Modesto so we thought we’d give this one a try. It was practically empty(probably because the windows are so dark that it looks like the restaurant is closed) so we were seated right away. Our waitress was smiling, friendly, and thoughtful. She even gave my dad a sundae with a candle on it, and she joined us in singing Happy Birthday. She did this on her own accord after we casually told her what the occasion was. The food was delicious! I had the tortellini in Alfredo sauce, my mom and husband had the night’s special, spaghetti and meat sauce with cheese melted over the top, and my dad had the ravioli. We all really enjoyed our entrée and my mom and husband RAVED over theirs. Of course, the salad is always delicious. When I go to an Italian restaurant, I like to order pasta, not anything with mashed potatoes. Maybe that’s where the other reviewers made their mistake. I would have given it five stars but we did have to ask for butter and takeout containers. We look forward to going again soon!

I hate to leave 1 star reviews and rarely ever do so. In this case however, all of the other one star reviews left here are certainly justified! No complaints about my server, but my meal was awful. Yes the others here are correct in saying that if you get mashed potatoes they will be out of a box! When the waitress asked me «do you need a box for the potatoes» my response was«no they already are boxed…». And she smiled at that one and said«yea you are correct and not the first person to say that». So now to the«braised rib» part of the meal. No the meat had nothing to do with a braised rib. It was some sort of meat but more like a tough piece of skirt steak or something smothered in an inch of sauce to try and disguise it. Bottom line was I had to try and share my wife’s meal and it wasn’t much better, but at least she got to eat ¾ of it, minus the asparagus which was part of the chicken dish, but«they were out of that vegetable» so she got artichokes on top of the chicken. This is NO reflection of the other Stings which I have frequented many times in Livermore and Tracy. In the others, you get a full piece of bread to cut, not 3 little sections. All in all this was just a meal gone bad. Won’t be going here again. Surprised they actually have any business, as the windows are darkened so much that you can’t even see in(at nite) and so we didn’t even think the place was open. And unfortunately for us it was.

I have been coming to this place for YEARS! Love the food, love the service. The cooks know me because of how often I come here. Great service. Heather is a very good waitress, if you can, go to her section. Prices are cheap. It may not be authentic but it is good.
