Order anything. Seriously. Best mexican takeout joint in manteca. I could literally go one for ever about ever dish. Just go try it.

I thought this would be like any other taqueria, but it’s not! This place was busy and there was a line and it was worth the wait. I got the veggie burrito enchilada style and have been holding myself from going back and over-indulging. I will definitely say this is my favorite taqueria. Staff was good, food was great, atmosphere is awesome, and another customer there was SO friendly and helpful. That’s how happy she was to be there I guess! Oh, did I mention there was a salsa bar?

Only been here once, but it was really good! Tasted like my Grandma’s cooking so I can’t complain one bit! It was also very clean instead as well!

This place used to be called Taqueria Riverbank. Your standard taqueria, the service is fast and the staff is friendly. I order the Carnitas Nachos, they are excellent!

FOOD: This place is a favorite of me and my family’s. The food is always delicious and perfect. I usually order the huevos al la mexicana. The portions are killer and always filling. SERVICE: They’re very attentive. The food comes out in reasonable amount of time and is always warm. The people always kind and ready to help out.

Best chorizo I’ve ever eaten! Nice variety at the salsa bar and the chips were thin and crispy, food is delicious with large portions, and the prices are cheap! Only four stars because there is no coffee for breakfast :(but other than that, I definitely recommend to anyone in need of a Mexican food fix!

OMG! I love this place I went here after a gym workout(since I hadn’t eaten all day). The place is very large especially for a taqueria. The food is pretty inexpensive and comes in large quantities. I ordered the 3 item meal but for the life of me can’t recall what it was lol I took a picture. Anyway exam of the items came with a meat so I got the carne asada(which is heaven) on two of my items and shredded chicken on the other; the plate also came with beans and rice which were also nicely seasoned. The young women who took our order was very nice and extremely patient since I’m very goofy when I’m hungry. She even picked 2⁄3 items for my plate talk about helpful. when I remember the items I’ll post an update.

I became curious to see the inside of this blah looking storefront, expecting to find a hole-in-the-wall kind of place. It was a pleasant surprise to find large wood tables in a half decent décor, not that it reminded me of Mexico; at least it transported me away from this shopping center strip. In front of me was the menu on the wall with some pictures of what my food might look like. It has your Mexican food standards, but it also has a decent seafood section heavy on the shrimp selections. At least it included octopus and shrimp cocktail that is not available in most gringo-catering Mexican restaurants. After ordering an enchilada, rice and beans plate(R&B), I was handed a basket of fresh crunchy-light tortilla chips and my lemonade(tasty). I proceeded to the well stocked salsa bar and topped my chips with a very fresh(morning has its advantages) pico de gallo. My plate arrived before I had gone through half of the chips. Warm(not hot) plate full with 2 chicken enchiladas covered in red chili sauce topped with melted cheese, R&B and lettuce topped by a green avocado sauce-dressing. The enchilada stuffing seasoned chicken had very little taste, but the texture was of real shredded chicken. The chili sauce tasted poured out of a can and it would have been better to ask for fresh Mexican cheese topping on both the beans and enchiladas. The rice was on point with red seasoning. The service was very impersonal, mornings are busy getting ready for lunch, but I was the second customer in the door. I had a filling breakfast for $ 10, including my drink. So the reasonably priced and varied menu get two stars. One half star for the décor and half more for the half good food that I tasted. Being close to home it may be a choice, but it has strong competition from across the street.

Giving this place 5 stars because it was so good authentic food, very quick on service and straight to the point. Very generous on the chips and full salsa bar to help yourself. Horchata was good, too

I’ve been here a few times. Twice with some friends of mine who regularly come here and once when I was getting an oil change nearby. Everytime I’ve eaten here it’s been really great. I’ve had the burritos, tacos, rellenos and enchiladas and they’ve been good each time. I just noticed that they had a great selection of Mexican beers. Not just the ones you see in all the stores and other restaurants, but other ones like Victoria. I’ll keep coming back when I’m in the area.

Food is always good! Our last visit though, it seems that the only thing the the ladies working, were there for is to socialize. Food was 20 min coming out. was the case for all the guests there. This was Wed. night about 4:30. The restaurant is in some serious need of cleaning. It was filthy. Floors were littered with trash. Tables were dirty when we arrived. There was two being used and we could only find one that had been half ass wiped down ready for guests. Very disappointed. The wall where the bottle opener was filthy. So when a restaurant that is dirty in the summer when it’s about 106 outside means only one this too many pesky flies. Uggggg! Try and enjoy the hard work of the cooks with that. Food 4 stars. Cleanltness ½ star. Was affraid to go into the restroom.

I have always loved this place. Even a simple bean and cheese burrito is great. Their nachos are so delicious. Even their carne asada is great and I’ve never cared for it much anywhere else. They have tons of salsa to choose from. The place is nice and big and has lots of seating.

There are not too many places that I look foward to every week. A few buddies from work and I frequent this place every Tuesday. I look forward to this every week. I’ve tried many Taqueria’s around town and compared the price of Tostadas. I can have two Tostadas here around 8 bucks and the same across town was a little over $ 15. That is awesome I must say. This place is not only affordable but really good. As mentioned, the Tostadas tend to be my favorite dish. My work buddies tend to get the burritos when we are here. So, as you approach the cashier thinking of what you want to order. Just remember, most dishes here you cant go wrong with. We’ve had the burritos, Quesadillas, and the Tostadas and they’ve all been really good. You are given a number once you make the purchase that you have to put on the table you sit at. They have self-serve drinks and a salsa bar. The medium salsa is especially good on chips while I like topping off my food with some of the mild salsa. The place itself is really clean compared to others. The servers here all do a really good job to make sure that you are left with a sense of satisfaction at your experience at the restaurant. We will continue to make this our Tuesday work lunch stop because it is «THATGOOD !».

It’s been a while since my wife and I have been out for Mexican food. Tonight, we decided on Taqueria Manteca. It turned out to be a great choice. We have been craving carne asada taco truck type tacos for a while. We ordered 5 of them for the both of us. We are not big fans of the salsa they put on the tacos so we ask for them without salsa. There is a salsa bar that have several different types of salsa(at no extra charge) to put on your order and the free corn chips they give you. The tacos were very good and did not disappoint us. I, also ordered a shrimp tostada. It is very filling by itself but I had to order it. It, too was very delicious. There was a lot of diced up jalapeños which intensified the wonderful flavor. I didn’t have to use any additional salsa or hot sauce for flavor. I docked two stars because the employees have bad customer service. The cashier was chewing her gum and looked at us like we were interrupting her day. When she first rang up our order, the total came to $ 40. I told her that was way too much for what we ordered. She re-rang it and the total came to $ 14. She gave me my change and didn’t say thank you or sorry or anything. When the server brought our food to the table, she flopped the plates down causing some of the carne asada to fall on the table. I will go back eventually because the food is very good. However, I would not put it on the top of my recommendation list solely based on the customer service.

This is one of the best, if not the best, taqueria in Manteca. Its a great restaurant in a crappy location though. Every time I park here, theres ghetto people eying my car and looking really suspect. But I dont care, I will totally get robbed if thats what it takes to eat this food. Thier burritos and tortas are to die for. Their salsa bar is very well stocked and there is plenty of space to sit down wherever you like once you walk in. The staff has always been friendly and accomodating and their food is very consistent. I want to try more things on thier menu, but its hard turning down a delicious burrito or torta. UPDATE: After a bad experience today with soggy fries and an inedible torta, I have lowered my review to 2 stars; 3 stars is A ok and this wasnt A ok to me. I’ve eaten here numerous times, but when its not busy and you still screw up cooking fries and a torta there’s no excuse. My fries were undercooked and my torta had a bun that was all tore up on the bottom of the sandwich. Unwrapped it, grabbed it, and found everything all over my table. Awesome. Also when I called to have it made again, the lady who picked up gave me attitude. Maybe she should have attempted to eat it.
