Cartm is a wonderful place for people to be more responsible for the trash we produce. It teaches individuals how to sort plastic, glass bottles, paper and cardboard. It really opens your eyes to making more environmentally friendly purchases and to make sure the waste we produce can be recycled. Not only that-they have a retail store where donations are re-sold and re-used. We found old bike racks-neat old books, and we walked away with an old kodak camera. Used pipes, old doors and old sinks are used to furnish renovated homes that want reclaimed aesthetic. Overall great friendly people willing to help those and educate people on recycling.

Anyplace that encourages recycling and reusing gets five stars in my book… but to be fair, as far as thrift stores go, it is a bit small with not a huge selection. But the prices are excellent, the people friendly, the premise is excellent and it’s a local joint. One man’s trash truely is another’s treasure.

I really don’t understand what all the rave reviews are about. After seeing the high ratings we made a point to drive out here after spending the day shopping in Manzanita before heading back to Seaside for dinner. The place isn’t easy to find — and honestly I was quite disappointed. Several of the reviews are so energetic about this place, but we were mostly«meh» — whatever. It’s a cross between a Good Will store and an antique mall, with a mediocre selection. There was nothing here I haven’t seen at a Good Will store in the past few months, with the exception of the Unicycle. I get the premise — and I’m sure this is a place I’m supposed to love — but really I would have rather spent the time playing a few more games of Fascination in Seaside. It’s not horrible — just really not the destination some of my fellow reviewers have made it out to be.

This place rocks! Located next to the recycling center and cutie worker Jonathan, if you’re single my friend wants your phone number. You took her picture in front of the garden art last Sat.

This is an amazing place! It truly gets what zero waste means. A full recycling centre and resale shop that has every item imaginable under the sun.(except clothing). If you need it, Cart’M probably has it. Awesome selection of hardware, misc. items, craft items, books… I could go on and on and on!!! Staffed by some dedicated, friendly folks too. This place has to be experienced to really comprehend it all. Prices can’t be beat. ** Note to yuptards /trust fund babies /etc. that try to haggle the staff… the prices are dirt cheap and go to a good cause. You really look like an ass when you argue and belittle the staff that keep this place running at top efficiency. Go back to Portlandia if you can’t handle common courtesy. OK, I feel better now… breathe…breathe… CASHONLY. maybe check, but don’t quote me.

Organized chaos. Books, furniture, wood, clothing, tchochkes! I love that dropping off my recyclables on the way home has become one the best parts of every coast trip. If I lived in Manzanita, I am afraid I would become a hoarder.

Cart’m is the bomb. I resell vintage online and always stop in to browse the Cart’m thrift shop when we’re in Tillamook County. Cannot believe how cheap their prices are – I’ve been to garage sales that seem boutique compared to Cart’m! Nope, the goods are not new, but if you’ve got an eye you’ll find something good(or great) every time. Super friendly staff and, as everyone else said, this place recycles just about everything under the sun. Kudos to Cart’m! Tip: Cash or check only(but us yard sale/thrift shop folks already come prepared, don’t we?) :)

The previous reviewer pretty much says it all — Cart’m recycles nearly everything, but the fun part is digging through all of the stuff they have for sale(remember, it’s reduce, reuse, recycle, in that order). We have bought lots of useful things there, from canning jars and dishes to books and fabric. No trip to Manzanita is complete without a stop at Cart’m

Cart’m is a great resource for anyone on the coast. This facility is a well run, green machine. They have a good sized thrift store on site, and

Cart’M is a great«Green» recycle and resale facility on the Oregon Coast. Offering used items for resale that might normally be placed in landfills. Cart’M takes Recycle and Resale to a new level. «Leading the Community to Zero Waste» is Cart’M’s motto. As a kid I remember Oscar«The grouch» from Sesame Street Singing«I love Trash.» The dirty green character that lived in a garbage can had nothing nice to say and hated everything good. He might think this place a mansion, and may have even smiled. Little did Oscar know, but the trash he collected and loved so much, would be valuable beyond his belief someday at Cart’M. When it comes to «Green» practices, «Green» seems to mean little to most business in the overall. Sure it’s a great feel good catch phrase that most think will help get them business by displaying that they care, but where the«Green» meets the pavement… its really about the other Green… Money. At Cart’M however they not only put the term«Green» into action they take it to a new level that is truly productive, and as they say helping with«Leading the Community to Zero Waste.» That’s action over words. The Cart’M Resale Store and Recycle Center has become a minor tourist attraction for people traveling through the Nehalem, Manzanita area on the Oregon Coast. Anyone who loves thrift stores, resale or just a cool place to search through forgotten treasures, will love this place. Cart’M is primarily a recycle yard. Taking in yard debris, construction debris, and other recyclables like card board, cans, plastic etc… Nothing too exciting, we have places like this all over Portland. Where Cart’M Stands out is that they recycle everything possible and then some. Cart’M has a resale store where anything and everything that can be recycled is sold. Nails, screws, doors, chairs, books, toys, household items of all kind, nuts, bolts, tools and so much more I can’t even start. All from the trash or donations etc. Anyone tearing down a home, or who has left over usable construction materials can bring them here for donation and resale. There are trailers full of great stuff for fixing your home. The indoor resale area is full of treasures that change daily, and for the artist this place is amazing for finding unique pieces to use or add to your works. On my two trips to Cart’M I have mostly purchased books, however, especially if I lived in the area this place would be my first stop for misc. home parts, furnishings that need refinishing and household items such as pots, pans and utensils. A lot of the excitement is that you never know what new treasure is going to be there. I remember my own words as I was introduced to this place«Your taking me to a dump!». No, it’s so much more, and now I can’t pass Cart’M without stopping.
