It is just average. Service is sometimes great, sometimes not. Food is pretty average. But you know, average is not bad… below average is bad. :-) I have never had anything bad here, and never had anything outstanding. Maple Tavern does not try to be anything other than… a neighborhood hangout. And it does that well.

Just had their bloody bar and what a smörgåsbord of fixings they have. Also, I love the fact that kids eat free.

Fantastic! The food was amazing and the service was top notch as well. I had the Tavern Philly with onion rings(both of which were outstanding) and we started with State Fair worthy cheese curds. As a parent, the fact that kids eat free all day, everyday is a God send. I will be frequenting the Maple Tavern quite often now!

Food is amazing! The beer cheese soup is the best that I have ever tasted! The employees are all super awesome and are attentive to you. Love the atmosphere here and the huge patio during the summer months is a bonus!

Food was fried so much the only thing I could taste was oil. Service was hit or miss, we won’t be going back.

Just left a Wedding reception. Good food and nice bartender. The hostess and bus guy who also set up the food in the banquet room need hospitality training. I would not employ those two non-smiling crabby folks. If you don’t care about how you are treated you might like the place. I certainly would not go back.

This is truly the saddest food I’ve ever been served in a Minnesota restaurant, ever. The«Baked Chicken» breasts had been pre-cooked at least a couple of days in advance. They arrived cold, dry and mostly inedible. A few slices of steamed vegetables had been dropped on the chicken just before it came out, perhaps to disguise the rigor mortis on the plate. «Quesadilla» came straight from a restaurant supply place, thrown into a microwave and brought out with the chicken. And they mangled the most basic entrée on the table: a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich, again pre-made, refrigerated and microwaved. Three entrees and one app set me back $ 70. If the food had been tasty or made-on-premises, I would not have blinked, but this meal was just. a tad better than my stoner college roommate used to make for himself; straight from freezer to microwave to plate. The people who own the place are yuppie bar managers, not restaurateurs. There is no love of food planning, prep or presentation here. Drunken people will eat anything; that’s the only reason this place exists. Don’t waste your cash. There are plenty of fantastic places to feed yourself in the metro area. Eat elsewhere.

Love this place before they changed their Tavern Tots recently. I would crave those tots and now they are smaller and not as tasty. Cheese sauce is the same. We also like the deconstructed nachos… always a favorite! As far as entrees, the wraps are a perfect portion to split! Kids eat free every night. Love the bar ambiance ~ dark and reminds me a bit of a pub. Come early for a seat at the bar. Service is hit or miss! I really don’t like to have to ask for a drink or my check and the last visit was that case even though the bartender walked right in front of us several times. Great place to see bands on the patio during spring & summer ~ just be aware lots of bees. We will return.

I freaking love this place. I can’t put my finger on why exactly. I think it has to do with the way I feel when I’m here. I grew up in rural Minnesota and the bar feels like that — local. Very friendly. That’s not all though, the food is to die for. The Chipotle Peanut Butter Burger, Om nom nom. They use to have deconstructed nachos and a chicken dumpling the size of a softball. It’s almost all handmade and delish! Make sure you swing in for the weekend meat raffle too or try your luck on the live lobster crane game.

I went for the music… Like the band but the place is laid out so strangely They stuff the band in a corner no place to dance . Bartender was awful terrible service food mediocre I will never go there again no matter how much I like the band– and if you are a band Yo do not want to play there! There are much better places Two thumbs down

Honestly, this place confuses me. I truly never know what to expect. Decent bar food and fair prices, but the service is so hit or miss. Some of the bartenders are downright rude and neglectful. Always attentive to the male patrons, but good luck getting decent service if you’re a female. If you don’t want to spend much money and you aren’t in a hurry to get food or drinks, this place will be just find for you. Otherwise, find a different bar.

I ate here with my family a few weeks ago. Overall it was just OK. The deconstructed nachos we ordered on happy hour were a bit over-done. My entrée of fish and chips was disappointing — wayyyy too much batter on the fish. Service was okay. We had to have the waitress change out the pop syrup, as I could immediately tell from the color it was going to taste gross. She was very responsive and brought over a new one as soon as she could. Right as we were leaving, live music was starting which was a nice touch.

First time here. I will be coming back for sure. Great townie bar feel with a new age menu. Mahi mahi tacos were bomb!

Love, love maple tavern! Great food, decent service. My husband and i like the atmosphere, we have never had to wait for a table and food comes out fairly quick. We even took our wedding party to MT for drinks between the ceremony and reception– our group loved the patio!

There were so many kids in the«restaurant» that we sat in the bar. Our choice. Not great service. Never had our table wiped down and still staring at the menu while we’re waiting for the check. Water. Only one of us got a water in a broken cup, so we shared 3 ways with the table. Steak bites. Like shoe leather. I think my mom cooked this. There was no risk of that beef coming back to life via zombie or vampire. Boneless Garlic Parmesan Wings. The chicken was cooked well. Avoid the sauce unless you like mayo and the green bottle of shakey Parmesan. Mayo. Seriously. The PB&J burger could be good if you got the raspberry jelly on the side. Overpowering. The Buffalo Chicken Salad was good. Some of the salad had been previously frozen. I have had the blackened steak salad in the past and LOVED it. Maybe this was just an off night.

They have this maple jalapeño burger. Very interesting flavor and an excellent late night snack. Pair it with a Rum and Coke. Had their breakfest too.

Rhonda dragged me here on our trip to Costco besides the fact, I was kicking and screaming the whole way!!! «No No, this reminds me of my dumpy little home town» NO Rhonda, PLeeeease don’t make me go in there!!” Well, I lost the battle obviously since I am writing this review. Rhonda loves the Beer Cheese soup which she insists is homemade; I think they just get it in bags. I doubt much here is home made. We had Buffalo Wings which were not good at all… Not crunchy like I prefer, and the quantity was small for the price. Rhonda took the rest home for Basil. I had a pulled pork sandwich which was actually pretty good. The chips that come with the sandwich were super salty and different. We were only one of two tables in the place and this was barely after lunch time. Not a surprise to me. Service was back woodish type of friendly but not my kind of friendly. Rhonda, one more strike and you are outta here!!!

A fun tavern style restaurant. We went in for dinner and drinks. The soup, steak salad, and turkey bacon avocado sandwich were surprising really good. They’ve got a decent beer and wine selection. Happy hour drink specials are pretty nice too! We stayed for video bingo and won a round of drinks. I can see how it could get pretty boozey, loud, and bar like if you stayed later. I thought it was fine for family dining as long as you head in before the bar crowd. We’d head back if we’re back in the area.

My wife and I had a $ 30 voucher for Maple Tavern. The place was pretty full when we walked in. Lots of TVs lined the walls, and I liked one of the touches, the jukebox also had the video of the song on a couple of the TVs. Sweet! We got a seat next to a window and I ordered a Fulton Sweet Child of Vine to start us off. Awesome beer. Hoppy, yet not crazy! I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side salad and my wife ordered the veggie burger with a side salad as well. Very solid side salads for $ 3. Both dressings were great(Blue Cheese and Peppercorn Ranch) The sandwiches came out and they looked spectacular. I got my wife’s pickle, which was really good. The chips were kettle style, they probably don’t make them themselves, but they tasted like they did, so crispy and flavorful. Good for dipping in the dressings and the avocado mousse that they make for the veggie burger. The pulled pork was super juicy and the crispy onion pieces really added a nice touch. I ordered a Surly Furious to go with the lunch. A perfect complement to the meal. The flavor was just amazing, a home run! My wife let me try a bite of the veggie burger. FANTASTIC! Whenever a restaurant has a homemade veggie burger, it is usually pretty good. Maple Tavern’s is no exception. She took the veggie burger and basically made her sandwich a veggie burger salad. When she finishes a meal, you know it is good. This place is good. I would give it 4 stars, but the service was so awesome and the people were so nice, I am bumping it up a notch to 5 stars.
