Tried it for the first time last week for lunch. Had the veggie burger and fries. Nothing special or fancy. Food was good and came out of the kitchen fast. I prefer In and Out burgers better.

Let me just say this is the first time I have ever returned to a restaurant two days in a row. The juice of the burger… when I took my first bite … dripped down my elbow and I almost licked it off. Please ask for a burger without seasoning because it makes it a little too salty This burger tasted so good. The fries were percent. The Vitamin water Aćai Berry was an added bonus the manager Phil is awesome and the cashier are knowledgeable and welcoming. Delish

Always find it strange when my experience differs from the majority of others so drastically. While I had to think twice after seeing that Smashburger gets only 3 out of 5 stars, I have to call it like I see it from my perspective. Secondly, I have to review Smashburger in context, meaning I’m not going to compare it to a place like Village Whiskey. It’s not as good as Village Whiskey, this is a fast food hamburger joint. I’m going to review it for what it is. We loved. We thought the burgers were among the best we’ve had in similar burger joints. The burgers are great and I think compare favorably to Five Guys. I would give the edge to Smashburger. We also thought the fries were excellent and compared favorably to Five Guys. There is nothing to complain about here as far as I’m concerned. We loved it and will return.

I cant help but wonder if many employees called out this Saturday night, because they had one register open, at times a line back to the door, and expediter/runner constantly either yelling at the kitchen or apologizing to the guests he delivered to. Other stores have been five stars. The bacon cheeseburger seemedsurprisingly dry. the cashier /well maybe he’s not normally the cashier, because I had to give him my order three times even though it was a burger and three of the same appetizer; he must’ve confirmed«to go» with the couple ahead of me in line about five times. Supply area out of knives and forks; who knew you’d have to special order forks? — though happily one was free. Having Vitamin water as a Fountain Drink option was a plus. Interesting used clothing store next door though the music didnt seem to cater to the clientele Update: having read the other reviews after posting mine I see that the one register open is normal I didn’t get the fries but generally don’t like the tiny steak and shake like fries yes I said steak and shake love them in the Midwest and much tastier burgers than the smash burger. hopefully corporate reads this because this location is troubled, not just tonight

I decided to try this place on my lunch break as it is only about 6 – 7 minutes from my work. I had never been to a Smashburger before, so I thought it was time to give them a chance. First off, this place needs more than one person taking orders. The line was almost out the door, but there was only one person who was taking orders and she was doing it very slowly. The line barely moved due to this set up. I probably should have left at this point, but I stuck it out. After about 15 minutes or so in line to wait for the 8 people in front of me to order, it was my turn. I got a burger with blue cheese, haystack onions, and truffle mayo with fries and a drink. I had been watching how long it took for people to get their food, so I ordered it to go. Thank goodness as it took over 20 minutes to wait for my burger. This is where I became very annoyed. I get it that this isn’t a fast food restaurant, but it also isn’t a gourmet burger place. It just shouldn’t take this long. With that being sad, the food was decent. Not good, not great. I think my favorite thing was the truffle mayo. The fries were shoe string fries and not bad, but because they are so small they lose heat fast. The burger was thin, and the bun was greasy which was a little gross. All in all, not a bad burger, but nothing that I would have to go back for. I thought it was crazy that it legitimately took up my whole lunch hour to simply get a burger and not even eat it. The staff was nice and definitely doing their job, I just think their system needs some fine tuning. The burger was simply not worth the wait.

Today marked my third visit to Smashburger. My girlfriend and I got a large burger, harvest salad, some fried pickles and split a drink. $ 18. As always, the food was ready quick and the service was surprisingly friendly! Sheron took great care of us, addressed my girlfriends vegetarian needs, and helped make a good meal great. The salads are huge and tasty, and their burgers are legit. Wanted to grab a shake on the way out but was plenty full, will try one next time. Also thought it was really cool that they offer a «local» burger that is sourced from nearby farms. Didn’t know till after we ordered, so will check it out next time. As far as chains go, this place is totally cool by me.

Finally checked out this burger joint and I was pretty satisfied. My favorite burger joint is Five Guys and I can’t help but compare it to that. I ordered the classic Smash cheeseburger without tomatoes and it came out just as ordered. I forgot that it came with a special Smash sauce and put ketchup on it as I usually do. I was happy to find that the sauce was really good, even though I put more ketchup on than required. I also ordered the Smash Fries which are seasoned with garlic, rosemary, and olive. The french fries are cut really thin, so a regular size is a pretty large order, big enough to share. The Smash Fries were really good and not greasy as I suspected they might be. So my tongue and belly was really happy. The environment was nice, clean, and up to date. We ate in and got a post to put on our table for a waiter to bring our food, which came out really quickly. All in all Smash Burger was really good, but I’m still a Five Guys guy. I think Five Guys has Smash beat on taste, but I’d definitely go again for the fries.

Absolutely hated this place. Tiny portions of tasteless food. Felt like my wife was cooking :)

No one knows this is everywhere. I’ve been here 3 times as it is popular with my business friends for lunch. I liked Elevation Burger at the Morristown Mall much better, which is now closed. It’s $ 12 for a burger, basic fries and a drink. It’s clean, but has a very ubiquitous character. I’m not sure if I’m in California, the 50’s, or a corporate cafeteria. The buns are too light, even the whole wheat bun. They have a gluten free bun, but I wouldn’t say that they have healthy options overall. I’d rate the food as acceptable. With the cool name and being a burger joint, it just feels like this concept should be a much better experience.

Stopped by during a road trip. Food was better than expected! Try the swiss, mushroom and truffle burger. It was delicious. Service was also quick and the manager was very friendly.

First time there. Lunch today was the basic grilled chicken sandwich with the fixings and a small order of fries. The sandwich came on a multi grain bun, with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles and mayo. The chicken breast was much larger than the bun and was very tasty. The fries are thin –cut and were cooked perfectly. The only negative was that they were over –salted. Taste first before adding any salt. Unsweetened iced tea was a big plus. I would have liked to give it another star, but the salty fries took it away. p

This place is very laid back, a great place to chill and relax with friends. The burgers here are pretty big and juicy. Though I still find the prices to be tad high. Gave this place 3 stars because of the prices and the overall taste of the food was nothing special.

No good. Burgers don’t taste great, dry, but the bun was soaked with grease, fries were cold and the container was less than half full. There was so little avocado on my burger that it may as well have not had it on there… won’t be going back.

I loved this burger spot. Really fresh ingredients and great customer service. Their fries are so good. The burger was so fresh and the veggies and buns. I will come back here again. If you want a great burger this is the spot.

My wife and I stopped there on a whim and were very disappointed the burgers were greasy and the fries were small and over spiced. My wife had the avocado burger which came with 2 small thin slices nothing like the menu picture and they were rotten on the egdes, I had a basic bacon cheese burger nothing special no taste at all. They only good thing was the milkshakes we had. The total was almost $ 30 crazy for 2 burgers and one order of fries and milkshakes. The place was understaffed and the cashier was handling money and food. We will never go there again.

Overpriced for what you get. I ordered the large sweet potato fries to share; barely enough for one person. I even confirmed with the waitress that this was a large portion. Ridiculous to charge $ 3.50 for this. The grilled chicken sandwich was no more than 3 ounces and had no flavor. It was as thin as a pancake. Won’t order this again. Tip: change your menu so it tells people what size the regular and the large size burger is: there is absolutely no way that a regular was more than 4 ounces; it was tiny compared to what you’re paying for. Tell people what smashed fries are on your menu. It speeds up the ordering process. It felt like it was over 100 degrees standing in line to order. Please have your hvac checked. We’ve been to other smash burgers around the philly area and have not encountered these issues.

While not a fan of smashed or pressed burgers, I’d heard good things and it was a nice day to try someplace new. The counter staff was very pleasant and didn’t bat an eye as my guest and I started building our custom burgers. I like that they had a multi grain bun as an option, so I ordered that, a regular sized burger, blue cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, ketchup,(no spicy mustard? Boo) bacon and a fried egg. I was not asked what temp, so I guess all burgers are cooked well done. I also ordered cheese fries and fried pickles. I was pleased that they had both unsweetened iced tea and lightly sweetened green tea. We sat down and our food arrived at just over five minutes. For being a smashed, well done burger, the patty was very tasty and not dry. i wouldn’t say it was juicy, but it was just fine. The lettuce was pretty much a whole leaf of romaine, comically huge. regular onion versus red onion, three(3) small pickle slices. Two nice sized pieces of bacon were there though, and my fried egg was fried to hard boiledness. The burger tasted good and was filling and satisfying. The cheese fries were cut so thin they could almost be matchsticks. I know a lot of people like that, but they got cold very quickly. The fried pickles were tasty but EXTREMELY salty. Glad there were free refills on the beverages. All in all the service was fast and pleasant, the food was good, and the price was OK(the two of us ate for under $ 30). While I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here, if I was hungry and driving by I’d pop in again.

I stopped in on my way to work today, the last time I ate here must have been a fluke. I got the buffalo blue burger today and it was delicious! Not greasy at all and the smashfries were great. They even offer buffalo fries now. Another Unilocaler messaged me about a sin city burger. I looked it up today and I’m gonna have to stop back soon to try it! I really like how they serve your meal in metal baskets with paper, much nicer than fast food joints cardboard boxes. They also have actual ketchup and mustard bottles, it’s like a real restaurant rather than a fast food place. Now that I’ve tasted what their burgers are supposed to taste like I will be back again!

So there’s fast food, a la Mickey D’s and Wendy’s, which has been around for awhile, and then there’s fast casual, initiated by Chipotle and perpetuated by Panera, Cosi, and the like. Smashburger might be the first to take the burger beyond fast food and bring it in to the world of fast casual — a generational hop that is paying off well. Smashburger has taken over this seemingly doomed restaurant space, and with great prices and great food, I think they’re here to stay. As a vegetarian, I’m hesitant about burger places, but friends had been raving about the black bean burger so I knew I was in for a treat. I went for create-your-own, and grilled onions along with the typical cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. It was spicy and delicious. I also had the smashfries, which were ok, but I far preferred the sweet potato fries someone else in my party ordered. I’ll definitely be back — every receipt has a coupon for your next visit, which is tricky but genius. There’s an avocado-topped black bean burger with my name on it, and I’m dying to try to green bean and carrot fries.

After seeing a few Smash Burgers pop up all over the place I decided it was time for me to try it, and I was glad I did because I’ve tried it over and over again. This is my new favorite burger place. My favorite burger there is the«New Jersey» which has apple wood-smoked bacon, blue cheese, grilled onions, haystack onions, lettuce, tomato and mayo on an onion bun. All burgers come in two different sizes, small and large– both are priced under $ 7.50. Fires and other sides have to be ordered separately, but it is definitely worth it. The haystack onions are nice and crisp, and the fries there are the thinnest I’ve even seen. The sweet potato fries are awesome– you could eat them for dessert! The portions for the sides are reasonable and can easily be split. I have yet to try the milkshakes– but I’ve heard good things! This particular location is great. The restaurant is clean and welcoming. There is plenty of close parking. The entire staff is great and really tried to make sure you enjoy yourself. I would not suggest going to Smash Burger without a coupon as they are easy to find in Val-Pack or at the bottom of a previous receipt. They also have an email/text club– so sign up! Also I noticed a lot of customers requesting take-out cups for their drinks, which the staff happily gave them.
