Stopped by here to get a breakfast sandwich. Looks like the place is closed for business. There is a sign in the door for a new sushi place at this location.

Nice little place with a family atmosphere the service and the food was good, the server was friendly and the food came out in a timely manner, I would suggest this place to friends I was a little disappointed with my corn beef sandwich but I’ll give them another try

My son and I decided that we would try this deli, and have our own experience, and opinion about this place. The atmosphere is very New York. I do have to say for a deli it does offer quite a bit of options to their customers as far as their sandwiches and desserts. Now if you’re not used to having such options it may be a little overwhelming to see how much they have to offer. My son and I ordered the hit man and it was very filling, and very good sandwich. The guy behind the counter took pride in his customers, and his preparation for his food. In contrast, it is in my opinion that’s potato salad is lacking some kick, and spice. I do have to say quite many reviews on this place and there are some good, and bad. Why were there the owner walked in and seemed a little frustrated with his staff member. I would say to anybody you may need to be careful what you say to one another when there are customers in your establishment. I know it is tough to run a business, but there is only one way to run a successful business that is your customers. He seem to be a little tired, and was walking around and taking pictures of his place. The way he spoke, and his frustration was a little discouraging me and it almost gave this review three stars. However, the sandwiches and the guy behind the counter was very enthusiastic, and the food was good which earned it a four star review. I definitely would recommend this place to anybody, and possibly will be back.

So I was so excited to find out there was a New York deli in Maple Valley since I just moved here and I’m from the NY/NJ area. I tried lunch first which was pretty good, we had a corned beef and pastrami sandwich on rye and the hitman which is like an italian hoagie. both were decent size and prepared well. So when I decided to try them for breakfast I thought for sure it was going to be great. well I was wrong. the breakfast sandwich was so flimsy with one little egg and 2 tiny slices of bacon on it. the bagels were just like frozen bagels thawed out, and the lox cream cheese was just gross. the knish was not good, the matzo balls in the soup were hard. I would never order breakfast from here again and kind of iffy on the the lunch too. for a better NY style deli I would rather go to Goldberg’s in Bellevue.

We had a coupon so decided to try this place out. The service was ok, the menu hard to read, the people were nice. After we got done eating, I noticed the meat was different colors and had spots on it… will not go back.

Authentic NY style sandwiches and goodies here. Havent had a reuben this good since i was in brooklyn. Sandwich had a lot of meat on it and it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Gentlemen who owns the place is really nice. Cute little deli. Very comfortable and clean. They even have my favorite black & white cookies from angels bakery in brooklyn here.

I happened to notice this place while heading out of town on a road trip. I’m so glad I stopped here, this place is awesome. I ordered a bagel sandwich with sliced nova lox(see picture). While I waited for my sandwich, I listened to the show tunes that were playing while watching the black and white movie they had running on the TV. Easily one of the best, albeit messiest, bagel sandwiches I’ve ever had. Great place!

My family and I ate here today for the first time. The two female employees working were wonderful! Super helpful and very friendly! Sweet women! The owner of the restaurant came in about halfway through our meal. My husband and I were both uncomfortable with his behavior. He loudly got mad at one employee for staying late to make MY sandwich. Extremely unprofessional to do in front of paying customers. Especially the ones that she stayed late for! He was arrogant and rude and ruined the whole experience for us. The mood of the staff and my husband and I, immediately shifted when he arrived. We couldn’t wait to get out of there. While the food was decent, I do not wish to support a business where the owner does not respect or appreciate the employees. We will not be going back here.

I looked at the menu online, saw matzo ball soup, latkes, and lox sandwiches and immediately purchased the advertised Unilocal deal and headed over to have a little taste of home. I arrived and thought it was a good looking little deli and loved Miss Betty Boop on top of their cold case. I ordered two«Leo Lox» sandwiches($ 5 a piece) and a few other items totaling over $ 20 before tax. I told them I had purchased a Unilocal Deal(which stated no restrictions) and then was told that I owed them $ 10 more. I asked to review what was entered into the system because I knew there was a ten dollar discrepancy. The manager proceeded to start shouting at me about the order, but he did say«Leo lox sandwich». I was with my family and did not want to create a fuss on our breakfast date, so I(which I now regret) paid for the order and sat down. After watching the manager be completely rude to the two other ladies working there, I noticed that he was making the lox scramble instead of the sandwich, which costs double, equating to the ten dollar discrepancy. I pointed it out and the owner began yelling at myself and group, causing my girl to cry. I will never again go to the Big Apple Deli.

Let me start off by saying this is about the fourth attempt to give this place a chance. Every time they have disappointed. From the food not being made right to them completely notching my order. This time takes the cake though. Not only was the bread as hard as a ROCK(literally) but there was plain as day mold growing on it!!! Yet they still served it!!!

Oh boy, I hate writing reviews like this. The entire experience left something to be desired, I would have rather gone to Taco Bell. You walk in and it’s overload, the menu is a mess and there is just stuff everywhere. Hubby ordered a hero sandwich and I got a pastrami and we proceeded home to eat lunch. by the time we got home, 7 min later, the bread was soaked through and totally mushy. My sandwich was just some bread, a little mustard and a small portion of meat. Hubby’s sandwich was huge, soggy bread and mediocre. Potato salad and macaroni salad were mediocre. Pickle was a highlight and it wasn’t even comparable to a Jimmy Johns pickle. The price, the price is a factor in making this such a low review, our lunch, two sandwiches was $ 22. Seriously. Service was okay, faster than I expected but the food quality and price make this an adventure we won’t repeat.

I ordered the veggie reuben, which is stated to have Portobello mushrooms. While the sandwich was fairly good, not even close to the best, I received white mushrooms. It’s true that portobellos and white buttons are the same species, but I really don’t like that I was told that I was getting the mature, meaty version only to receive the immature, disappointing version. They could have at least gotten criminis — at least those are a little bit closer to what’s being advertised! Service was average, sandwich was average. I might try another sandwich, but I’m not rushing to do so.

A unique deli in a funky location. I’m not from NYC but have visited including my first trip to Katz Deli the last time I was there two years ago. While Katz was a more memorable experience of course(the amount of meat they put on their sandwiches is insane), Big Apple makes a decent reuben too although pretty heavy on the mayo to wear it was oozing out all over my plate. Don’t let the $ 11 prices for their Hero Sandwiches scare you either, they are GIGANTIC, perfect for the«Hungry Working Man» or two people could split one. Friendly people nice atmosphere. Their slaw was very vinegary/bitter, needs a little more sugar and the pickle slice was what you would get in most any restaurant. Soda fountain was somewhat flat. Keep in mind, this is not your typical Yupiie«Gourmet Blue Ribbon» deli, with sandwiches made to look ready for a shoot in Sunset magazine. But it is a better quality, local alternative to the fast food places for just a couple bucks more considering a sandwich at Subway is going to set you back about $ 7. From the looks of it, breakfast item prices are a great deal! I’d say a solid 3 stars, all around A-OK food, service, and prices but nothing spectacular or to die for. Probably 4 stars for breakfast. They have NYC style food, they did NOT have the abrasive NYC attitude.

Great Ruben, but that’s about it. Not sure we will be back. Nobody knows the menu and nothing has much flavor. If you do want a great Ruben, then this is the place to go, just don’t stray too far.

What a little treasure found in Maple Valley. . Tucked away in the corner, the NY style deli, is definitely worth finding. We just had the best pastrami sandwich, tender, juicy and full of flavor. The caraway rye was perfectly grilled. Add a little mustard and it’s time to chow! The service was outstanding and Megan was so sweet, polite and very personable. I’m looking forward to coming back for brekkie. I know it’ll be a great start to my day! Please take the time to try the Big Apple and support our local businesses, you won’t be disappointed.

Where to start? I am from Connecticut and I really wanted a meatball sub, searched on Unilocal, and ended up here. When we ordered the meatball hero, the person at the counter let us know that she never made one before. That should’ve been the first indication that things were not going to go right. We ordered, in addition to the sub, Manhattan Clam chowder, and I asked about the cannoli. Again, the person at the counter says, «They aren’t made with the regular cream, you won’t like it» ok. Didn’t get the cannoli. We get home, cannot wait to dig into the sub and soup… until I see the meatballs. All the same size, definitely not homemade, nowhere near East Coast standards. The sauce??? Good Gawd, my ma would say. Just a step above inedible. The clam chowder? Don’t ask. Needless to say, I will continue my journey to find a meatball sub to satisfy my craving elsewhere.

Being from NY, we long for authenticity in our NY style food out here on the west coast. Rarely do I find it, but the Big Apple Deli has it! From their Matzo ball soup to their delicious cannolis, their food is great. If you’re from the east coast and looking for your NY fix, come visit this place. You’ll be glad you did.
